"I should probably depart today."
It probably wouldn't hurt to read through a few more books, but honestly speaking I managed to learn everything I really needed to. After coming to this world I honestly just tried to get a foundation of knowledge of this world. If for example there would be a definite and easy way to use magic for everyone, which would be commonly known and I would just skip it to travel around I would definitely regret that later. Well I also don't want to know too much about this world, because I want to experience the things I couldn't do until know all with my own eyes.
"I am ready."
Maybe it would actually be a bad decision to leave today, but not leaving would kind of be against the very thing I wanted to do in this world. My primary goal is honestly just to have fun, because in this world I can experience things I wanted, but couldn't do in my previous world.
With that resolve in mind I started to think about if I needed to do anything in Raiken. Well I looked at everything in my bag and came to the conclusion that I actually needed to leave today. Why? Well the money I had was now completely used up. That means I can't afford to stay in this city anymore, also I can't buy any food, so I need to go out of the city and hunt something for myself. I looked at the bag once again and put out everything I didn't really need.
"Well I guess it's not gonna be as heavy as coming here."
All the provisions I had been given by Daisuke for the time travelling to Raiken were all used up and other than that I didn't really have anything I needed, so now the bag was really light.
"Then let's go!"
I made my way to the streets and looked around to see a gate that would lead out of the city. I turned right in front of the inn and followed the street going away from the royal palace. It was still early in the morning, so there weren't a lot of people on the streets. At the gate the guards quickly looked at me, but they didn't say anything and just continued to stare in front in the same direction.
"It's really beautiful."
I still wasn't really used to the beautiful nature in this world, almost completely untouched by humans. I walked on the path leading away from the city and headed towards what seemed to be a big hill in the distance. It wasn't the same path, on which I entered the city, so I wasn't familiar with the change of the environment that happened, while I was just walking. After arriving at the foot hill I started to make my way up there. It took a few minutes, because it was honestly higher than it looked from the path.
"Huh, finally."
I reached the top and looked around at my surroundings.
"It was really worth it coming up here."
I climbed up the mountain to look for the best possible way to advance on my journey. Behind me I saw Raiken not too far away from the mountain and in front of me I saw a forest once again. it was darker than the one the village was surrounded by and also I couldn't see the end of it. In the distance It think there were mountains, but I couldn't be sure. But that was exactly what I was searching for. In the forests in such a world there are bound to be some strong beasts. I could hide from them, but of course they could also ambush me. It's a very good place to sharpen your senses, I mean I am not really planning on becoming an assassin, who is only striking from behind, but it is one of the most important things there are. After all the danger lurking from the shadows, the danger you can't see until it is in front of you is the most dangerous one.
"Well I guess now I know where to g-"
I just noticed a shadow from someone behind me and immediately jumped backwards, while drawing my sword. The person, who just attacked me stood there and didn't attack me anymore.
"Nice reflexes I have to say."
"Huh?!"
I looked at the face of the one, who supposedly attacked my a few seconds ago.
"Wait, Princess?!"
"Oh so you do remember me, but why don't you put down your sword if you know who I am."
"I don't know what goal may be, but seeing as you attacked me just now, I am sorry, but I don't quite trust you."
"Oh you really are interesting."
"Let's see how strong you are."
I noticed her movement...
"Got you."
She was suddenly behind me and had her hand on my shoulder. I didn't even manage to see her movement and the power I could feel from her was strong. Not comparable to that of the king, but it was still way stronger than everything I ever felt.
"Hm seems like you really don't have a lot of power."
"Princess. I know that I have no chance of beating me, so I am not going to attack you anymore, but could you please tell me what business you have with me?"
Sweat was running down my body and I felt like I was really unaware of something really trivial, but I just couldn't grasp what was her goal.
"Oh sure."
She went in front of me again and suppressed the pressure she emitted.
"You aren't strong, but are not willing to beg for your life. You have a strong will, but it also feels like you care about nothing."
"No you were once at that state of mind, but now it seems like you found your will to live once again. You really are interesting."
Now she was acting like a normal girl my age, but I couldn't figure her out.
"Hm I have any offer for you. Why don't you"
"become my subordinate?"
Huh? The pressure I felt was going away, but I was a lot more confused than before.
"If I am allowed to ask... Why do you want me to be your subordinate?"
"I'll tell you if you give me your answer."
Well what should I do. Honestly speaking I don't know what will happen if I say no. She seems to be honest about that and she also doesn't seem to be under the control of this world trying to kill me like before, when I entered this world. Does she know something about me! If she does it would make things a lot more complicated, but that is really unlikely.
"I am sorry to say this... but I don't plan on becoming your or anyone's subordinate for that matter."
"It's honestly just because I want to be free and explore this world, so I don't want to be anyone's subordinate."
She took a few seconds to say something and I began to get nervous.
"Well."
"You really are interesting like I thought. Well then I guess I'll get going."
Huh?
"Please wait a second princess. Would you tell me why?"
She looked back at me.
"Well you just looked like an interesting person. I feel like we will meet again one day, but now is not the right time."
"Oh by the way what is your name."
"My name? Well I go by Yori."
"Oh okay Yori. Then I guess we will meet again if fate wants us to."
I wanted to ask her name, but she was already gone. I wasn't quite sure what to take from this encounter, but I just know one thing.
"This world really is special. It's really fun."
