It should be fairly obvious, but these magical weapons are made from a material that can enhance mana and henceforth you can use magic. Well if you're actually able to use your own magic with the help of these stones then why shouldn't you be able to use magic without these weapons. It seems a bit fishy I mean of course it's probably a lot harder for you to learn to use magic without this material that enhances your magic, but it should still be possible. I have a few theories concerning the problem with magic and the use of these weapons, but I have no real clues as to the real reason.
"Well I guess I am going to find it out sometimes."
But I know for sure that I won't train my magic with these weapons, just think of the advantage you would have against somebody who literally can't use their magic without their weapon. When they think they would win, because you lose your weapon or it gets destroyed of something like that you can easily surprise them, by using magic even without a weapon. Well I don't know a way to train my mana or something like that so I guess I'll focus on my physical capabilities rather than my magical ones.
-the next day-
After waking up I was taking my training slowly and was simultaneously focusing on revising everything I learned the day before. After finishing my training I thought of what to do today and came to the conclusion that I should just go and finish the first book "Subete ni tsuite" and then pick a few other books about the most important parts of this world, which would be good to get a better understanding of. I went to the library, which was a 2 minute walk away. After going inside and going to the row with the books of Idaina Kenja and picking the book I had yet to fully finish I sat down on the chair I sat on yesterday and started to search the page I left off at and started reading the last quarter of the book. Today I had way more time, so I could finish two or three books of Idaina Kenja, which went way more in depth than this one.
"Finally finished."
I finished the book and put it back to where it was. I noticed the library started to get filled with more and more people and I had to think about which book would be the most important and I came to the conclusion that it would be best to read "Rēsu ni tsuite no subete", I mean to know the weaknesses and strengths of your opponents is without a doubt one of the most important things in battles, so I should learn more about the races...
"Uh, finally finished."
It really took me about 6 hours to read."
I knew it would be a long book and it's of course not comparable to the length of a book in my old world, but I can for sure only read one more book here. But it was absolutely worth it, I can't know how accurate the information in the book is, but this could potentially save my life and when I am going to train in the wilderness I am for sure going to encounter some of the races in this book.
"Well no time to waste."
I put the book away and took "Mahō no subete" It's about as long as the previous one, but this book should completely focus on magic and some of the things I think about magic should be in this book. After all I know that this person is pretty knowledgeable, because there wouldn't be books with completely false information in this library, so I guess I should be able to trust the information to a certain degree. I took the book and sat down and began to read. It was much more detailed than the book about everything in this world, which of course only makes sense considering this book is only about magic. It goes in depth about the different elements and certain rare elements. There are families, who are known for their fire magic for example. These special families of which most are noble families are experts at their respective elements. So I guess it's safe to say that your magic is also inherited in your blood. But I am not from this world. I am not too concerned, because I already noticed that my body was getting stronger at a way faster rate than back in my previous world, but if I am able to use magic is pretty uncertain. If I were to just get a magic weapon I could probably figure that out, but I don't really plan on that, because I have nowhere near enough money to buy one.
"Oh interesting."
There's also special magic, that is mostly an enhancement or variation of the basic elements. For example Ice or different colored fire, for example blue fire, which is known to be hotter than normal orange fire. There are only a few people that can use that kind of magic and most of those people are extremely strong and stand on top of normal people...
"Wait, what?!"
The book was finished, I was so driven into the whole medium that I practically didn't notice how much I had already read. I looked up and saw that once again most people were gone and it was getting dark so I stood up and put the book back to it's original place, took my bag and went out on the streets and from there on back to the inn. I once again paid for one night and went back to my room. I did my evening training routine, but I was a bit confused, mad and uncertain. Why? It seems like there's actually no way of enhancing your magic. That means that if you get to know your magic, there is no going back or getting stronger. You can't awaken a blue flame if you aren't able to do so the first time you use your magic. So it'll all depend on, what type of magic I get.
Well, maybe it's going to be something unheard of. I closed my eyes and was happy about my progress today.
