After waking up I stood up and started to walk around, checking my surroundings and thinking of what to do in the future. I already thought about it the day before while following the path, but it really just depends on what information I get in the city.
I was finally feeling ready I picked up my bow and the quiver and started to train with the bow exactly like the day before.
It felt like I was already a bit better than yesterday, but to really see a lot of improvement I would probably have to train for several weeks.
After exhausting myself completely with the bow I tried to get calmer and started to look for a branch I could use for sword training. After a few minutes I found a usable one not too far away from my resting place, I tried to adjust the shape and length to be the roughly the same as my katana's.
"Oh interesting."
It felt lighter. Of course it's lighter than the real katana because of the material but I felt like, it was also lighter than the branch I used back in the forest near the village just 2 days ago. They should be about the same weight, so why do I feel like it became just a little bit lighter and my swings faster?
"Wait?!"
The only explanation would be... That I got stronger? Of course I already hoped and also expected that my body would be able to improve in this world, but this, it's way too fast isn't it?
I mean it's not a bad thing of course, but how strong can you become in this world if you can get stronger this easily? Is there a limit, where a lot of people are stuck?
Maybe my talent is actually a lot higher than others. What if when I came to this world my body also changed and I naturally gained the ability to improve? Either way.
"This is good! This must be the feeling, which was almost impossible to feel in my previous world."
For the people living in this world it would be normal. But for me it's actually always been a big goal, which feels like it's finally been achieved.
Well I just have to see how strong I am gonna be able to get, as long as everything goes as planned, after arriving in the city I would get information about a lot of very important things and then I'll be able to go out, with the least requirement of knowledge.
Out alone, in the wilderness. Training alone in the woods or something like that always sounded cool to me. And I always enjoyed training arcs in novels anyways.
"Well I guess it's gonna take a bit more until I can really start that."
After reaching Raiken I would probably need a few days to get the most important information and then I would be able to finally leave. I'll probably need about a week to reach the city and get everything inside done.
-Noon, the next day-
I had been training in the morning and evening and felt like I was really improving. It didn't really feel like I was improving at a necessarily fast rate, but nonetheless I was definitely improving and then I suddenly noticed a change in the environment.
I looked in front of me and saw light shining through the leaves of all the trees surrounding me. The trees started to get wider apart from each other and eventually I was out of the forest. I stopped walking and looked at the new environment in front of me.
"Wow!"
Completely different from the the forest the path was now leading down into a grass landscape without any trees on it. There were barely any hills so it was really easy to spot anyone in front of me.
And after looking for other people, who may be walking into the same direction I didn't notice anyone else, but me.
"Well I am bound to meet more and more people the closer I get to the city."
After walking for a few more hours I began feel tired again, it was also gradually getting darker and darker, so I quickly searched a good place to spend the night at. If you left the path you could see a forest expanding. Maybe it was the same one I had walked through, maybe it was another one, but either way it was good that it was there.
I had to leave the path, but sleeping somewhere in the open could lead to me easily being spotted and robbed or even killed in my sleep.
I can't know for sure, but maybe there are bandits near the city, who are trying to wait for a good opportunity to easily rob someone like me, better not take any risks while I am still weak.
After making the decision to head towards the forest I began to turn away from the path now walking inside of the completely empty grass landscape.
I searched for a bush or something else to be relatively safe from the gazes of anyone and when I found a suitable place I put down all of my stuff. My back hurt a bit from all of the walking over the last few days, but it wasn't really that bad.
It was worse that I was getting tired, but I knew I couldn't slack off training, so I took the branch I had been taking with me the whole time and started to begin training again. My tiredness was swept away from the moment I began to swing the branch and I was already executing the routine, which I had slowly been developing over time.
Swiftly switching from strike to defense to counter and then hand to hand combat, striking with all my might, stabbing, getting pushed back and having to block the attacks of my imaginary opponent, while trying to get an opportunity to counterattack.
The basis of my training was always the same, I imagined opponents and fought them as good as possible. I knew that you couldn't compare it to real combat, but it was the best kind of training I could do at that time.
After being drenched in sweat after a few minutes I was putting the branch onto the ground, picked up the bow and shot arrow after arrow as precisely, powerful and as fast as possible at the different trees around me.
The training with the bow continued for a few minutes and then, after I almost couldn't hold my bow anymore I sat down onto the ground and almost instantly fell asleep from the exhaustion.
The next day I would maybe be able to reach the city and then my first real goal in this world will be achieved. Even if it's just a minor achievement it is still making me quite happy, an emotion I hadn't really felt in a long time.
Well I just hope nothing bothersome will happen in the city.
Well how unlucky would I have to be?
