Sophia's POV:
Yay! TGIS (Thank God It's Saturday)! I have nothing do today except for watching anime and reading manga since I've already done my homework yesterday after school.
(Knock, knock, knock)
"Come in!"
My older sister, Riley came inside my room and looked at me with scornful eyes.
"You're reading manga again? Seriously? Don't you have anything important to do?" My sister made fun of my hobby.
"Hey, stop looking down at me! Reading manga and watching anime also teaches me many things." I argued.
"Really? Like what?"
"Like discovering Japanese cultures and learning many Japanese words. I can even understand deep English words because of it."
"Yeah, right. Come on and get changed already.
"For what? I'm just beginning to read my manga..."
"So you don't want to go with us?"
"Where to?"
"Have you already forgotten? It's the 10th anniversary of my restaurant today. Duh! I already invited our eldest sister, Avery, together with her husband, Lucas to the celebration. Mom and Dad won't be going because they said have some matters to attend to. And here I thought that you will be happy and excited to know that I'll invite you to eat many different sweets."
"Really?!"
"Yes. But I think you prefer staying here in the house together with your weird anime figurines and manga collections so never mind. Just continue reading."
"No, no! I'll get ready immediately! Can I also invite my friends Elaine, Janna, and Kristoffer?"
"Sure. Do whatever you want."
"Thank you! Sister Riley! You're the best! Then I'll call them first to invite them. Wait for me downstairs, ok?"
"Ok, we'll wait on the living room. Hurry up!"
I immediately called Elaine the moment my sister left my room.
"Elaine! Are you at home right now?"
"Yes, why? Is something the matter?"
"Umm... Do you want to go with me to my sister's restaurant? Actually, today is the 10th anniversary celebration of her restaurant so she wants to treat us to something."
"I'm in! I'll go to your house after I get ready."
"Ok, I'll wait for you here. Bye!"
I also called Janna and Kristoffer and both of them also agreed to go with me.
(At the restaurant)
"Wow!!" Kristoffer and I shouted at amazement in unison.
Even if I already visited this place so many times, the simple but elegant design of the restaurant never fails to amaze me. Every time I visit here, there's always something new in the restaurant.
My sister lead all of us to the VIP room. She brought my sister and my brother-in-law to a different table from ours. She also gave us countless dishes and desserts to eat blissfully.
"I really love my sister's cooking!" I declared.
"Yes! Your sister always treats us to foods ever since we we're young and I never get tired in tasting it." Kristoffer agreed to my statement.
"Your sister is really amazing, Sophia."
"Thank you, Janna! I'll be sure to tell her about your compliment later."
"I'm glad that you invited us today, Sophia." Elaine thanked me.
"It's no big deal! You already know that I will have much more fun when I'm with you guys!"
It's such a shame that John isn't here to have fun with us. How is he doing by now? I wonder if he's doing well just like us...
We continued to spend our time talking and eating leisurely until we didn't realize that it's already late.
"It's time to go home! All of you, go downstairs and get inside the car. Especially the three of you, Kristoffer, Elaine, and Janna. Your parents must be looking for you already. We need to hurry up." My sister Riley said loudly.
"Yes! Coming!" The four of us shouted.
"How about the two of you, Avery and Lucas? Are you going with us?"
"Nope... You can bring those kids home first. I and Lucas still have somewhere to go to so we'll go home a little bit later."
"I understand. Goodbye, then!
The night ended with happy memories engraved on our minds.
Unknown's POV:
(At the airport)
"United Airlines Flight 880 to Canada is now boarding. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready for boarding. United Airlines Flight 880..."
"Sir, were going now. Please get ready."
"I understand, Mr. Ron. Please go inside the airplane first and I'll follow later."
"Ok, Sir."
I let my attendant, Mr. Ron, go ahead because I want to be alone first. I contemplated for a while since I wasn't sure if my decision to come back is really right. I am thinking deeply when another announcement was made.
"This is the final boarding call for United Airlines flight 880 to Canada. I repeat, this is the final boarding call for Airlines flight 880 to Canada."
I went inside the airplane and looked for Mr. Ron. I sat beside the window and was looking at the view outside as the airplane is taking off. I wonder what is waiting for me in my hometown?
