Elaine's POV:
Janna and I are talking about something when we heard someone shouting scandalously.
"Didn't I say I'm fine?! Why can't you understand what I'm saying? Are you stupid?! When I said I'm fine, I'm fine!" We saw John shouting at Sophia and slapped her hand away from him.
"Sophia!!" Janna and I shouted worriedly.
We stood up immediately to go to Sophia and ask her if she's ok when Prince also shouted. Janna tugged my hand and stopped me from walking towards them.
"Let them be. Look at Prince. It's the first time I've saw him like that."
I looked at Prince and I saw him with a raging face and clenching fists.
"I know that Prince can handle it just fine. For now, let's leave it to him because we'll just make the situation worse if we get involved now."
Janna was gripping my hands tightly that's why I know that she's also very eager to go to Sophia right now. Out of us three, Janna may be the most quiet but she's also the most caring so I know that she's now having a harder time than me to resist herself from going.
"I... I understand." I answered reluctantly.
But who'll expect that time will come when Prince will protect Sophia from someone? They used to be rivals since Sophia always tops his score.
We waited for Prince to finish talking and when he pulled Sophia out of the classroom, we went to John at once.
"What is happening to you, John?! What's with the sudden change?! I never expected that you, of all people will hurt Sophia. You used to be warm-hearted, mellow and thoughtful, but now what? I don't know you anymore... Sophia's just worried about you earlier that's why she did all of that! I-" My words were cut when Janna held my hand and shook her head that tells me to stop.
I looked at John and I saw that he's wearing a regretful face. Maybe he's come to his senses when I scolded him.
"I just wanted to tell you that we got depressed when you left, especially Sophia. Sophia really treasures every one of her friends so she must be really happy when she saw you today. I don't know why you did that but no matter what your reason is, what you did is not right at all." Janna said calmly.
"Let's just go, Janna. Sophia needs us right now." I dragged her out of the room and left John standing miserably.
(At the infirmary)
"Sophia, are you ok?" We asked Sophia at the same time.
"I'm fine! It's just a light sprain. Nothing serious."
We looked at her arm that's wrapped in bandages.
"So, how's her condition?" Janna asked Prince who's currently sitting beside Sophia.
"The nurse said that it may take at least 1 week before the sprain in her arm recovers completely. It's not that serious so there's nothing to worry about. It won't leave any scars or bruises either."
"I see."
The room was filled with awkward silence since we're worrying about Sophia very much. How much pain does she feel right now?
"Come on! Cheer up guys! Prince just said that it's nothing to worry about, right? It's not like I'll die from it so stop that worrying already."
"Yes, you're right!" Janna said cheerfully.
"But who's that guy anyway? Do you guys know him for a long time? I heard Sophia earlier about something being 'friends' with him." Prince asked.
Sophia and Janna just kept quiet so I'm the one who answered his question.
"He's our childhood friend and also the cousin of our friend in Class 2, Kristoffer. He went to America when we were kids to have treatment on his heart disease. We never had any contact with him since he never wrote us letters just like he said before he left. He also didn't contact Kris for some unknown reasons that's why Kris only knows some trivial things about him that he hears from John's mother. I don't know what happened to him earlier, but he used to be close with Sophia before."
"Used to be close or not, that doesn't matter! He hurt Sophia earlier so that means he probably doesn't remember the bond you used to have! He's doesn't treat all of you as his friends anymore!" Prince said resentfully.
"Prince!" I stopped him from talking since all of the things he's saying right now is making Sophia upset. He went too overboard just now, I'll admit. Though, I kinda agree with him since I also know that we can't bring the past when we used to laugh and play happily together anymore.
"I'm sorry." Prince apologized at once.
"Um, guys? I think we should go back to our classroom now. I think Ma'am Padua is already there by this time." Janna proposed.
"You're right. We should go back now."
