Chapter 16 - Carnation 14

Third Person

Paris, France: Oeillet de règne Académie Theatre

There she was. Just standing there and waiting for something or someone.

"I'm glad you're here!"

As soon as she heard the voice of a man, she turned around, only to be hugged tightly by the male who spoke. She cried while crutching the boy's back, not minding the makeup on her beautiful face.

He ran his fingers down her long silky black hair before brushing his own with the same color. Tired is not enough to describe their situation, they were more than exhausted from running away from people.

"Dante. I can't let you suffer anymore. They're calling you a monster! Ju- just because we love each other!" the girl looked him in the eyes and explained, her lips quivering as she does. "Is this right?"

"It's not right. I know it's not but does it really matter? Everyone will go after us no matter what we do." the boy caressed her cheeks to wipe the tears flowing from her eyes.

The boy gritted his teeth, grieving was evident from his face as he hugged the girl, keeping her crying face from his sight.

"We can't please everyone, Madilyn. Young or old. I'll love you!" He whispered in her hair then the girl smiled, knowing that the boy hasn't given up on their relationship.

"Good... Good..." the girl whispered.

She closed her eyes feeling the soothing atmosphere in his arms. They both pulled away from the hug to let their lips collide with one another. Closing their eyes, they felt each other's breath.

"Stop, Next!"

Raine and the actor stopped before facing the front stage where two teenage boys are sitting. Both with grey hair, the other one was visibly bored by the audition of the actor, while the other one is obviously pissed at the boy beside him.

"What's wrong?" asked the 34th auditioner, completely oblivious of what they did wrong.

"Hey! Hey! Are you the director?!" Klavier stood up and yelled at the boy beside him with disbelief. "The scene is not yet done! This is the 34th auditioner and we haven't been able to choose from them"

"He's a lame actor, next!" Saccharide sighed and gestured for the boy to exit the stage.

The boy looked down before scratching his head. Raine touched his shoulders, smiled at him before saying, "You did great!"

Raine's smile comforted the boy before he got off the stage. She sighed and looked at the Klavier with her pleading eyes, hoping that her best friend will have patience with Saccharide's behavior.

"How many are you left there?" Klavier called out to the backstage.

Raine took a step inside of the curtain to count the remaining auditioners. She put out 5 fingers to Klavier

"...only 5?!" the shocked bisexual exclaimed.

He closed his eyes for a moment to regain a little bit of a positive outcome of Saccharide's presence but then he looked at the boy and his anger will boil at the maximum point in more than a second.

"I'm going to negotiate with you just because Raine is desperate with helping you. And I love my baby girl so much that I will find my last pack of patience to waste on you," explained Klavier with no pause

"So..." He took a deep breath. "The first one to audition didn't even hug Raine and you already shouted 'Next!'"

"That creep is drooling at the sight of my girl!" Saccharide blandly explained.

"The previous one was great!" Klavier came back with defense.

"Too nervous... And shaky. I could have easily mistaken him for a vibrator with his performance," said Saccharide which made Klavier's right eye twitch.

Both of them were busy in the little debate that they completely forgot that there are other staff members inside the theatre with them.

Some were recording the battle.

Others were just laughing quietly, well they tried to keep it in but it's paradoxically impossible at this point.

The majority of them were literally making a bet who will lose their patience first.

Klavier, "The third one was enthusiastic!"

"Oh, sure! The scene was about McDonald's play place, anyway..." Saccharide came back sarcastically and beamed Klavier a sarcastic smile.

"How about the fifth one?" Klavier asked.

"Seriously? He cried more than the leading lady and he spits as he speaks!" exclaimed Saccharide, this time standing up in disbelief.

"His acting was great!" answered Klavier.

"He is a waterfall waiting to be recognized..." Saccharide came back.

"The sixth one was perfect!" Klavier said after flipping the pages of his folder to a particular page.

"He's gay! Before he could even look at Raine, he winked at me. Disgusting faggot!" chuckled Saccharide.

Everyone went silent. They all knew what Klavier thinks of people who think people who are part of the LGBTQ is a sickness to the world.

He hates them.

He despises them.

Especially, that fucking word!

"Okay! That's it!" he yelled before slamming the folder on the table in front of him."Auditioners take a break! Raine, take a break! All of you take a break while I break somebody's neck"

Half of the staff left for a trip to the cafeteria, others remain in the room to get a glimpse of the third world war. Raine clutched her necktie tightly and hurriedly exited the stage to approach the two of them.

"And I don't care if my newly painted nails will be ruined" Klavier added, his voice completely changed.

Raine came rushing to them hoping that he'll get Klavier to stop attacking her ill lover but there is no turning back, they already pissed each other enough that there is no stopping them from destroying each other.

On the corner, the staff was already giving money to the ones who won the bet. To the ones who voted that Klavier was the first one to lose his patience.

"Sorry Raine, we can't pass this opportunity to earn money from your boys," said Diaz, the light operator of the play.

Raine sighed when she witnessed that before touching Klavier's shoulder.

"Klavier—"

"No Raine! I have to take this out because I'm about to explode right now!"

Flabbergasted by her best friend's outburst, she could do nothing but just stare with wide eyes and mouth slightly opened.

"Would love to see that..." Saccharide chuckled, looking at Raine to reassure her that he was fine at the moment upon seeing the girl's worried expression.

"Alright..." Klavier started. "Why do you have to stop the scene right before the kissing scene?!"

"Because kissing her is a cardinal scene" Saccharide retaliated.

"Oh, so you're a sinner?" Klavier asked with a sing-song voice.

"Guys...!" Raine decided to get between them but Saccharide just pulled her and made her stay by his side.

"Yeah, I'm the devil!" He shouted back at the boy.

Klavier, "The devil's decision here isn't included!"

"Too bad I'm the one who invested money to build this theatre." Saccharide crossed his arms and proudly eyed the beautiful ceiling of the theatre to prove his point even more. "The theatre where you are located right now..."

Tomato cannot be compared to Klavier's flustered face as he clenched his teeth along with his fists before smirking cockily at Saccharide, "At least my family's name is not a ketchup brand, Mr. Ketchup!"

"Klavier!" Raine yelled.

"Stop calling me that!"

This time the one who lost his patience was Saccharide.

The people watching from behind Klavier was already betting who will win the final battle, they watched closely instead of making a move to stop this.

"I would if I could but I shouldn't so I won't" Klavier sassily said, his voice back to its normal level.

"Let's see if you can still speak after I fucking take your tongue!" Saccharide, his rage, reaching his end limit kicked the table across the room, making the people flinch.

"Saccharide!" Raine finally stepped in front of the boy, he held his face and made him look at her. He was beginning to calm down but Klavier wasn't satisfied with this, seeing his best friend being a doormat again.

"What'cha gonna do? Bite it? Come on then, have a taste..."

When Klavier said that, Saccharide wasn't having it and pushed Raine gently out of the way, to grab the collar of Klavier's black shirt with the verge of destroying his face.

"You little..." he muttered.

Klavier pulled Saccharide's collar and made their body collide, their faces inches away from each other. He smirked and traced the shocked male's jawline.

"Oh, I'm huge! Wanna see a preview?" He whispered which made the others drop jaws.

How could they not?

Two panty droppers are dropping briefs too— er...

Saccharide pushed the male before he held his head, feeling the immense pain running through his temples. Panicked Raine made Saccharide sit on the chair before she can start calming him down.

"Klavier!" Raine shouted at her best friend, "I told you he's sick!"

Klavier crossed his arms and faces the other direction to avoid the emitting lovey-dovey aura from the two.

"Are you okay, Saccharide? Does your head hurt?" Raine smiled sweetly and kissed his forehead. He hugged her waist with rattling hands and a sweaty forehead.

"Didn't Saccharide reject Raine last week?" Out of curiosity, the dark-haired light operator, Diaz, asked.

Klavier glanced at the hurt expression of Raine who was hugging Saccharide with closed eyes. His eyes soften but hardened again when he turned to the curious boy.

"Why don't you just shut the hell up, Diaz?!" Klavier shouted at the boy."Napaka- epal mo talaga e, no?"

"Do me good and go outside with the others. I'll just call you if you're needed" Klavier commanded.

Diaz put his hands up in defense before backing away slowly to exit the scenario, nodding to the command of Klavier, leading everyone outside.

"Saccharide! Hey, look at me... Calm down..." Raine shushed him while stroking his hair. Looking him directly into his eyes, making sure that he was still in his conscious state.

Inside Saccharide's mind, all he could hear was the voices of his mother and father, all he could see was blurry images. Angel Caliber tried his best to control the disorder but his body was completely controlled by the sickness too.

After all, they merged into one body and soul...

"Alright. I'm fine... The kiss will only be fake, you know that" she explained, "It's a technique we always use for the previous plays"

Saccharide finally got back from reality when he took in what the girl had said.

Kiss...

No one will kiss his girl other than him, that's for sure...

Touching her is already forbidden...

There's no way...

"I don't want them touching you and that's final!"

Raine gasped when Saccharide cried and suddenly hugged her tightly, she responded with a hug while stroking his back gently. His tears soaked her uniform and his deafening cries made her wish that she was deaf at that moment.

"I told you not to argue with him!" Raine muttered but she sounded angry, even though her seemingly soft voice does not really show it.

"Oh please... He's the one barging in here and ruining the auditions. If he has problems, going to the doctor might help!" Klavier tried to talk some sense into his best friend.

The girl released the shaking body of Saccharide to walk towards the other male who seemed not bothered by the situation of her lover. She held his hand up to slap Klavier but her inexperience on such things made her stop halfway.

"Go on! Slap me. I bet he does that to you every day, right?" Klavier held her hand and encouraged her to slap him.

She was speechless. She was ashamed of herself for even thinking of slapping her best friend.

"You can't do it to him?" Klavier asked "Alright, start it with me cuz' right now that's what you need"

She stayed silent before Klavier let go of her hand. He took a deep breath and then dragged a chair to sit on.

They stayed like that for a few minutes before Klavier decided to break the iced silence.

"You requested to let him stay and I agreed because you're so damn cute plus this is the way to revive his one-week absence— but then he decided on his own to become the boss bitch of this show. If he doesn't want to change, that's his problem. You don't have to keep up with his situation!" explained Klavier.

"We have limited time to keep up with both of your bullshits and we have different lives to focus on, not just his. Be the devil of the show sometimes, Raine" He ended his sentence and stood up, fixed the fallen table, and gathered all the scattered paper on the floor.

"Fix this. The two of you..." he said softly and started to walk towards the exit.

"Raine!" Saccharide froze.

"Jesus!"

The papers Klavier collected on the floor were scattered once again. Tints of blood were absorbed by the paper, making them a red color.

Even with Raine's light body, it made a loud thump when she fainted.

"Blood! Why is there blood here?!"

The carpeted floor turned to a darker hue when Raine's blood seeped out from her shoes. Klavier took off her shoes along with her socks carefully, only to gag at the sight of the unrecognizable sight of the sole of Raine's feet.

"Raine... Hang in there girl!" he didn't know what to do but when he came back to his senses, he immediately removed his t-shirt to wrap it gently around the wound of her feet.

"Diaz!" He stuttered and tried to keep his balance when he got up from the ground to call for help outside.

"C-call the medic!"

"Diaz! Call the nurse, please!" Klavier stumbled on his way out but the crew is nowhere to be seen outside the theatre door.

He looked back at the body of Raine and clenched his teeth before running to the nurse's office to get help.

On the other hand, Saccharide was still sitting there and in front of him was his girl, with her closed eyes and her chest seemed like it was not moving up and down as it should be.

It's like he saw this before...

Oh yeah...

This is what his victims would look like when he's finally done killing them all...

In another vision, Angel Caliber saw it differently...

That's how he died...

"No, Raine—"

He needed to see her smile again.

"I'm sorry—"

She needed help.

"I'm sorry—"

He didn't hear the whisperings on the halls while he was carrying her, her blood trickled from her wound like an opened faucet on the floor. The people gawked at them but he only stared at the pale face of Raine.

"I'm sorry! Don't worry, we're close" he whispered, "Please... I'm sorry..."
