The shade of the trees in the back part of the school was seldom visited by peers, provided the ominous background for our conversation.
"So it's Target, huh?" I asked him, "Target's the spy my Father hired to ruin my relationship with Raine"
Yes, even with my therapy, I'm still doing business, it's my way to support myself especially when I officially cut off my connection with my Father.
I gave the mission to Blood Shed because I know he doesn't have any sort of connection with my parents, I'm glad so because I knew he'll get the job done and clean.
"Yeah. He fell for my story..." he chuckled and kicked some of the fallen tree leaves on the ground.
"Why did you take so long?" I asked, feeling a little bit suspicious of him.
"Of course, I had to cover the holes he made. Man! He was really desperate to find something," He laughed and let me a peek at the picture of Target's corpse.
I didn't mind losing him because I would rather risk one of my dogs than to lose Raine from my life.
"You didn't find something, did you?" I asked, feeling a little nervous because of his story about how they saw Raine in that cemetery that night.
Someday I'll find out what she was doing in there...
"Nothing!" Blood Shed said. "As I said, I made the story up that I saw her digging in that area to know who's the impostor..."
"Where's his body now?" I asked, worried that someone might notice.
"In hell..." he bluntly answered.
"Did you look at the news?" he suddenly asked me.
"They never found the body of Edward Callaghan. The new President of the Company, James Trois, inherited the shares because Callaghan's son was too young to handle it" I nodded and told him what I expected from the previous mission.
"He was a clever man. Imagine it. He set out the police to find his dead best friend, just to keep out of the suspect list" he praised the man.
"I don't care about him now. I'm just glad you've taken out the fucking shit." I said and leaned against one of the trees for support and relief.
"Yeah but you still have to be careful..." he warned me, his voice was now serious with no childlike tone.
"I know. There are Nightmare and Phoenix" I frowned.
"Do you want me to kill them too?" he asked adding his signature child accent.
"Sure!" I smiled at his stupid tactics.
"Yes!-"
He was about to celebrate when I popped that idea in his head. Losing another one of my dogs is not what I needed right now.
"If you want to get yourself in the lair of my Father and get killed!" I explained.
"Awww... You're no fun!" He pouted and rolled his eyes.
"Those two have a deep connection with my Father. We're lucky it was Target that was hired," I said to him as he listened carefully.
"Yeah, I guess..." He agreed. "It'll be a real bummer for you if I was the imposter, huh?"
He laughed and decided to playfully punch my arms in the process. I threw eye daggers at him that kept him from producing bullshits from his little mouth.
"I'm kidding, jeez... I thought that the therapy was making you a little bit sour but I guess you can't squeeze the sour juice out of an old orange," he teased me once more.
"Are you done making nonsense?" I asked.
"Yeah. That's all I got," he smiled and waited for me to pick the wallet from my pocket.
"Here's your payment. Fuck off now," I handed him the exact payment and started walking away.
"You're very much welcome, Boss!" He waved at him while I waved back at him.
"But seriously, be careful, especially that girl of yours..."
He's right...
Especially, Raine...

Raine Aksenov
Room 305
"Raine!" I called out but no one's answering.
I entered without knocking. After the incident with her feet, we both decided that I have to stay with her. I duplicated her keys because I know she can't answer the door.
The loud crash of the door doesn't bother me as much as it used to. The treatment was very effective even with that little factor.
"I brought your costume. I thought that we need to get you to fit in it" I set the paper bag, containing her costume on the living room table before looking around for any signs of her.
Her feet were not fully healed yet but her eagerness to help around her dorm room wins so she forced herself to walk around a little.
"Raine...?"
In her room...
"Raine!"
The kitchen...
"Raine!!!"
She's not in the bathroom, either.
I was on the verge of a panic state when I heard a soft voice back in the living room followed by the familiar thunderous sound from the door closing. I rushed back and saw her limping around with her bucket of garden tools, wearing only an oversized plain t-shirt with her sandals.
"Saccharide..." she called me.
"Hey! Hey—" I softly said to her before letting her seat on the couch. "I said you need to rest"
Taking the bucket of tools, I grunted because it has a hint of heaviness. Not that much but you can surely feel it, what more if you have a foot injury. I placed it back in her bathroom and went back to her room to find her silent and looking down on the floor.
I sighed and made my way to her.
"Hey, gorgeous. I'm not mad... "I nibbled in her ear before making her seat on my lap. "I just want you to recover as fast as possible"
I guess I scared her when I raised my voice...
"I want to see how the garden is doing..." she whispered and tried to stand up from my lap.
"Don't fucking care about those carnations, are you nuts?!"
She gasped and put her hands in front of her face when I suddenly pulled her again to hug her tightly. Fuck this patience! She's the one who calms me down but ironically, she's also the one who gets the patience out of my body so fast.
She's been living in fear this whole time.
I'm such an asshole...
"I'm just saying... You're the most important carnation there is... I don't want you to fall down the stairs. You haven't been able to walk properly yet..." I whispered and calmed her down before I let her seat beside me.
"I got your costume..." I smiled and handed her the bag of costume.
"Thank you..." she stuttered and kept silent.
"What happened? Why are you quiet...?"
When I said that, I saw her hiding her feet under the space below the couch before shaking her head and saying, "I'm going to try this on..."
"Let me see your feet..." I requested softly, bringing my hands close to her ankle but then she suddenly scooted away from me.
"No, I'm fine..." she smiled and held the paper bag close to her, still hiding her feet.
Ugh! It's like having a child...
"I said, Let me see it!"
She dropped the bag and whimpered. Her body was shaking and she was holding his hands on the top of her head. She thought I was going to hit her— again...
This is not the first time this happened...
"Look... I know this is hard. I'm still adjusting to my medications, I can't help to see you flinching every time I raise my voice or every time I do something" I explained.
I don't like explaining myself but my doctor advised that I should share my feelings more, even if it's with Raine first.
"Come here, Raine..."
She scooted closer to me and hugged me, burying her head on my chest. I finally got the chance to examine her feet, she whimpered when I removed the bloody bandages.
"You're bleeding..." I whispered.
On her right foot, a small wound opened so I immediately got a pair of new bandages, some anesthesia, and the surgical needle and thread. I carefully made her lay down on the couch as I wipe the blood off the wound.
"I'm sorry..." she cried while I stitch her wound up.
It was the tenth time she said that while crying and I can't help but feel guilty for making her this way.
"Stop saying that... Please" I pleaded and finally tied a ribbon on top with the bandage.
Gently, I lifted her from the couch to bring her to her room. She was averting my gaze the whole time I was alongside her on the bed. Raine's head was perfectly on my thighs while I play with her long dark hair, my back was leaning against the bed frame.
"Hey, Raine..." I whispered.
No response.
Her eyes were open but they are staring off somewhere far away. Our heavy breaths sounded like bombs inside an empty vacuum.
"Tomorrow. I'll take you somewhere nice; I'll make you forget about the cruel Saccharide, alright?" I finally spilled out the words.
It came out nervously but it definitely pulled her attention to me. I was supposed to surprise her tomorrow but with this situation, I don't really know what to say other than this.
"A- a date?" she stuttered in disbelief.
"I— Well, yeah... If that's how you want to put it" I blushed immensely before taking her hand to rub my right cheek on it.
My heart blasted off to the galaxy when Raine out of nowhere climbed on top of me. She straddled me and made the first move but I can see clearly from her face that she was embarrassed from the action she initiated.
"How exciting, our first date," she smiled warmly and her eyes softened but can't look me in the eyes. "—our first normal date..."
"I'm happy..." she rested her head on my chest as I wrapped my arms around her waist.
"I promise you a real lover..." I whispered in her ears.
"Promise me again. I want to hear it..." she whispered back before giving my neck small kisses. "I want to hear it with your heartbeat"
"I promise" I simply said as the scent of her hair entered my system.
Her shirt slipped slightly down her shoulders so when I pulled the shirt up, I saw a variety of scars, small and big, traveling from her spine down to her entire back.
I closed my eyes and sighed as the memories of the past came flooding in, my arms tightened more around her.
"If I don't— you know... control myself" I muttered under my breath, she looked at me with her dewy sparkling eyes and frowned. "I want you to give up on me"
"You know how many times you said that to me? 30... And just like the other 29... I wouldn't give up..." she said before hooking her arms around my nape and looking me dead serious in my eyes.
"You don't deserve me..."
I said to her and looked her into the eyes which she did not avoid; instead, she smiled and hugged me. I didn't want to cry in front of her so I just looked down but she lifted my chin and kissed me.
I don't deserve you...
We don't deserve each other...
I was beyond flabbergasted when she inserted her tongue between my lips, I responded and fought for dominance, surprisingly she won and explored every inch of my mouth.
Her chest was already heaving up and down so I pulled away from the kiss, only to be welcomed by her gentle auburn eyes. She kissed me again this time, deeper—
And longer...
"No one deserves you, Saccharide. You're no match for everyone. Let me be the one to protect you from those who think that they are worthy for you" she stopped and was too embarrassed to look me in the eyes again, after being consumed by inner lust.
I felt a warm feeling in my chest after that, it's like I'm going to explode but I prevented it from blossoming too much.
We ate lunch together after I prepared bacon, eggs, and french toast in her kitchen. Being alone in my Condominium made me very independent, I came to learn the basic house chores.
"Sa- saccharide... I don't have injuries on my hands" With a mouth full of bacon and eggs, Raine complained. "I can feed myself properly!"
I sliced the long strip of crispy bacon before wrapping it on the steaming piece of a folded omelet. Bringing the food close to my lips, I blew it so that it would cool down just a little bit.
"I'm not enjoying this either but Doctor Porscha said this could get a girl to like me more," I said to her and chuckled before feeding her again
"I already love you to the most number of intensity there is," she munched her food softly.
"I want to follow her still..." I said and prepared a glass of pineapple juice for her.
I closed the fridge tightly and turned my back on Raine to pour the shimmering liquid inside a glass.
"Is she pretty?" I heard her ask which made me stop in my tracks. "You take her pretty seriously..."
"Who?" I asked back and kneeled beside her.
"No one. I'm sorry..." she whispered after turning her head in the other direction.
"You're jealous.." I started.
We stayed silent for a few seconds before my laughter bursts exaggeratedly because of the helpless feeling inside of me. Pounding my hands on the table while holding my stomach, I glanced at her pouting face.
I stood up and hugged her from the back before crushing our cheeks together to make her look in my direction.
"Seriously?! She's a 40-year-old woman who eats Botox injections for lunch" I hugged her and nibbled in her ears to make her feel reassured that I'll never have feelings for someone that has the same age as my mother.
"I'm sorry..." she apologized and giggled when she saw me laughing my ass out.
I stopped and in my tracks and flicked her chin upwards so our eyes will meet, my eyes were staring down at her before I said, "One more sorry and I'll fuck you here now..."
I thought that she'll stay silent but he pushed my head down so our lips will collide. She lightly bit my lower lip and said softly, "I'm really sorry, but I would love that..."
I chuckled nervously and made my escape in her aura because I don't have the intention to take her there, I know that she was so fragile to be exposed to such lewdness. She's only trying to provoke me but I know that she's struggling to keep up that act.
"I know you're trying to provoke me into taking your first time because last month, I gave you hints..." I said and sat back down to feed her the remaining content on the plate, "I'll be happy to take it after the wedding bells ring..."
"I'm just kidding at that time, gorgeous..." I added after pinching her soft cheeks.
She blushed and watched me the whole time as I washed the plates and the kitchenware on the sink.
"I'm going to the bathroom..." I heard her say.
I turned the sink to stop the water flow and turned my attention to the limping girl, I softened my eyes and called out to her, "Do you want me to accompany you?"
She stopped and looked at me like I'm some kind of creep. My smile faded when I realized why Raine looked at me that way.
Shouldn't have said that...
You're being too comfortable, Saccha- shit!!!
"Joking! I'm joking... Just be careful" I laughed and immediately turned to face the undone dishes again.
The sound of the splashing water from the faucet clouded the other sound that surrounds me until someone hugged me from behind. It was too sudden that I tossed the sponge that I was using somewhere behind me.
"Ra- raine...?" I asked.
She buried her face in my back and said something; it was muffled so I didn't understand it at first. I didn't respond and turned to my side and asked again, "what?"
"Actually, I need your help," she said, her voice was slightly muffled again, but this time, I can comprehend it.
"Oh! Alright then" I replied and carried her all the way to the bathroom, while doing so, I looked for the sponge but I can't find any trace of it.
"Just call me when you need me..." I said to her before she nodded with a warm smile on her face.
Slowly, I closed the door for her and leaned my back against the bathroom door. My hands were still wet so I wiped them in front of my shirt and sighed. I looked at the ceiling and suddenly smiled, thinking about how all of this going well.
Too well in my opinion...
I know that my father would take action with this; too bad I already made Blood Shed kill the spy. There are two spies, I'm sure; the one is killed while the other one is still breathing. I can't kill Phoenix because of that reason. It's because of that single fucking reason...
"Shit... Shit!" I blurted out to calm myself down as my memories came rushing to my head again. I held my temples and tried to massage them as my doctor advised but the pain won't go away.
"Saccharide!"
I heard Raine calling from inside the room so I hastily stood up and turned the doorknob before entering the bathroom, still holding my temples and massaging them.
The next thing that I saw when I opened my eyes made me forget all the bad memories.
"Rai— the fuck?!"
I was stunned. Raine's shirt was wet and it was incredibly translucent that I could clearly see her undergarments just under that thin fabric.
"I splashed the water onto me..." she explained and tried to get up but the floor was slippery so it was hard for her.
Thank goodness, she called me because I could have gone ballistic any second if she hasn't called my name.
"I'll get you a new pair of clothes, these are soiled," I said and carried her to her room, out of nowhere, the sponge that was missing showed and decided to interact with my steps.
Fuck you, spongebob squarepants...!
"Fu—!!!"
I tilted my body so I am the one who will make contact with the floor, I felt Raine supporting my head to protect it from the impact.
The floor was cold enough to make me calm, if you add the droplets of water from Raine's clothes, it was really soothing but I hear sobbing.
"I'm sorry...! I'm such a f- f- fricking burden." she cried, "I should just die when I had the chance. I'm a curse to this world!"
Those droplets of water were her tears, she was crying her eyes out as she clawed the front of my shirt. Her voice cracked, it was enough to make me hate me and that— psycho sponge.
"If you say that you want to die... The more reason I have to live to make sure that never happens" I patted her head and smiled. "If you're a curse, I'm the Maleficent... I won't let anyone else steal your kiss"
"Ugh! That won't change a thing. I'm still a curse!" she cried non-stop and kept wiping her eyes with her wrist. "I'm so fragile. And I'm too weak"
"Whoever made you a curse... They must have said the wrong words to make you a miracle" I got up and hugged her as she dug her nails on my back, still crying her eyes out.
"You changed me," I said while rubbing her back gently. "A month ago, I was killing an old man for no reason then minutes later; I was cooking and washing the dishes for you."
"I don't want to be too cheesy, Raine. I beg you." I chuckled. "It's poisoning me..."
"Let's get you to change, alright?" she nodded then I successfully carried her back to her room for a clothing change, I let her change into her uniform because I know that she'll have her make up class with Sir Broshe in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, I dealt with the evil sponge; I tossed it inside the sponge and replaced it with a new one. She stopped crying but after that incident, her face lacks its former brightness.
"Sir Broshe will be here in a few minutes, I'm just in the theatre practicing for the rest of the afternoon. In the evening, I'll go to Dr. Porscha for my treatment... I'll be back for dinner." I reminded her. "Got it, gorgeous?"
She just smiled and gave a peck on my lips. Feeling obligated, I initiated a deeper kiss and closed my eyes. While we are in a heated moment, just when my lips are traveling down to her neck, someone knocked on the door.
I opened the door and was greeted by a cheerful blonde girl, carrying a big red module that I assumed was for Raine.
"A very heavy delivery for Ms. Aksenov!" she grunted but managed to place it on the table in the living room area. "Sir Broshe's strict instruction does not mess with this ugh!— very heavy material!"
I just nodded and walked her to Raine's room.
"Bonne après-midi, my dear Raine!" Racquel greeted Raine and hugged her.
"Good afternoon to you too, Racquel" Raine greeted back while hugging her friend back.
The two talked about some things, some girly stuff while I just sat there, holding Raine's hand, and on the other hand, was the script for the play.
When someone knocked again, both Racquel and I answered it and as expected it was Sir Broshe, carrying another module.
"We'll leave Sir..." Racquel said then exited Raine's room.
I was about to leave too when I felt someone tugging on the hem of my shirt, I looked back and there she was, sitting on the bed giving me that puppy face.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Kiss me before you leave..." she requested which I cannot decline.
We kissed for a half minute or so that we forgot that our adviser is still inside the room. We both didn't realize that not until Sir Broshe actually cough and made his presence known.
That was awkward...
But at least he knows that those lips were my property...
