Saccharide Heinz
Paris, France: S. Heinz Condominium
The only thing on my mind upon arriving at my place is to take a bath, memorize the remaining lines that need practicing, then get a good night's sleep.
"You're only 17...?"
My voice echoed inside my shower cubicle, leaving the shower drops completely inferior in competition for volume. The shampoo ran down my scarred skin, I wiped it out before looking myself in the mirror.
What was the next line again...?
"Young lady. I'm a 30-year-old unmarried man. I bet it's just the alcohol talking."
Feeling the warm water washed all the sweat stinks and remaining cologne smell, I turned the shower off and exited the cubicle before grabbing the cotton robe hanging from the outside of the cubicle.
"Your parents must not allow you to kiss until 18—"
I continued reciting my line with a monotone voice while I brush my teeth. The mint flavor of my mouthwash reigned over my taste buds after I spit it out on the marbled sink.
"Natural? You're mad, young lady. Exchanging saliva to a stranger is not naturally normal. It's an exception if you want to commit suicide most romantically."
Something moved beneath my feet, I looked down and it's the bleach that I tossed. The dried liquid made the tiles of the bathroom extremely slippery; I picked up the bottle and decided to place it on the cabinet first.
It's been a month since I slept here...
The bits of glass on the floor were taken care of by my room cleaner but I can still feel a couple of shards poking underneath my heels whenever I walk past the spot.
I don't mind for it makes me remember our dance that night.
"My love for you is forbidden but you can't really find your treasure if you do not enter the forbidden forest..." I continued.
God! I already miss her...
"Happy Birthday, my lady..."
I stared at the stacks of paper placed on my bed beside me. The play was written by Edward Broshe, our professor in Literature.
—
It's about the writer traveler named 'Dante' and a troubled teenage girl named 'Madilyn.' The 17-year-old female fell in love with the famous writer and wanted a kiss from him, but the righteous 40-year-old male claims it wasn't legal so, they waited till the girl turns 18.
Basically, their love has an age gap so enormous to be accepted by their society, they decided to run away but stopped by Madilyn's current boyfriend.
It's a play with many action scenes and adrenaline draining stunts. But I only care about the ending scene when Dante and Madilyn finally kissed because the girl finally turned into the legal age.
—
It's the ending scene where I could finally confess to the whole school my love for Raine.
"I can finally call you my lady, instead of a young lady..."
I looked up to my ceiling, still amazed by how many cameras my father decided to install in here. I had the cameras removed a month ago before I decided to stay with Raine. Now I know why my father chose this condo for me to live in, there are 34 cameras in here.
"I would buy you a hat so that I could call you my young mad hatter..."
Every angle of the house has a specific camera, I doubt if I have left one, but it shouldn't bother me.
'You can watch me sleep because half of the day I'm at Raine's, old fuck!' I smirked before pulling out my phone from my pocket.
The brightness of my phone was overly radiant but the girl smiling on my wallpaper is the ultimate competition of the Sun. I smiled and kissed the screen before going to the contacts to call her.
I need to hear her voice...
I was staring at the ceiling as I waited for her to answer her phone. I stood up when I heard sizzling noises; my attention was turned outside the balcony.
"It's raining?"
My ears were alarmed when my eyes caught a glimpse of my window, I shoved the curtains aside and looked out my condo's window.
It's raining...
My phone beeped. She answered it, I urgently pressed the device near my ear while staring outside the big window.
"Hey..."
I replied before she could.
"Raine?"
I heard nothing but liquid hitting the ground.
"Raine?" I asked again.
"Is this Saccharide Heinz?"
Someone asked on the other side of the line, the voice was awfully familiar but it was distorted by the sound of the rain.
"Who the fuck are you?" I asked, instead of answering, I heard them laughing which made my heart beat faster than it already was.
"Sir, we found your girl here in the 4th cemetery, loitering past the curfew." the voice said in between laughs. "She won't tell us what she came here for, she even tried to run away, but fortunately for her, we caught her"
"Put her on the phone..." I requested and held my breath.
"Speak..." the voice of the male trailed off.
I did not hear anything besides the heavy rain, beating on the ground like drums.
"Speak!" the man got pissed then I heard a loud slap, it sounded like a skin to skin collision. After that, I heard a girl's whimper followed by another slap. The grip on my cell phone turns into a strangle as I tried to keep my calm.
'It better not be Raine. Or else fuck the therapy. I'll be happy to welcome genocide again.'
"Okay, it's time to be serious..."
My eyes widened when I heard the bastard's voice.
"Phoenix..." I muttered. "Where are you?"
I asked calmly.
'One rule for surviving. I have to be composed and not to bring tension to the enemy. And when they let their guards down. You'll just have to shove them down.' I said in my mind to bring peace to my throbbing temples and beating chest.
"You know where to go, my liege. This is where you killed the most important thing in my life," Phoenix said before my phone beeped again, signaling he ended the goddamn call.
Shit...
Fucking shit...
