Saccharide Heinz
Paris, France: Centre Carpeaux Mental Institution
"Saccharide..."
Ugh! My head hurts... I guess that medicine was too extreme for me because it tripled the severity of my headache.
"Hey, wake up!"
Who the fuck is that?
"Don't let me kiss you again"
I opened my eyes and was immediately welcomed with the view of Racquel's nearing lips on my face. My reflexes already told me to push her face away and that's what I did.
"Fuck, Racquel!" I shouted and just watched her laugh from the farthest corner of the room. She held her mouth and tried to prevent any more laughs to come out but she failed miserably.
"What are you doing here?" I asked still shocked by her sudden appearance.
"I came to visit my aunt but I saw you here sleeping instead..." she relaxed for a little bit and answered.
My eyes traveled around the room, shocked when I tried to recall what happened earlier. I walked towards the other side of the rectangular structure where the door leading to the observation room was located.
"Wait—! Wasn't I in the observation room a while ago?" I turned to the confused girl on the couch.
"I don't know. I just saw you sleeping here." Racquel shrugged and patted the exact spot I am laying a while ago.
I examined the corner ceiling of the room to pinpoint the security cameras but there aren't any. Having no cameras in the room makes this difficult; nothing could help me determine why I was there.
"Well. I— don't really remember anything. All I know is that she was calling someone for help because I was passing out" I combed my fingers through my hair before making my way to sit beside Racquel.
"She's not here, apparently..." she said softly and sighed. "It's strange because she always locks her door if she is going outside."
The stench of the blood seems to get more and more evident, the more I took a big breath. Dr. Porscha really needs to get professional cleaning or else the hint of iron in the air would get worse.
"Have you tried calling her?" I asked.
"Yes. And she left her phone..." she nodded and pointed to the phone on her nearby desk. "Could you get it for me?"
Initially, I looked at Racquel who was reading the magazines laid out on the table. Girls... I stood up again and looked at Dr. Porcha's untouched phone before picking it up to put it in front of Racquel.
"She must have transferred me here to sleep while she went out to get something," I suggested and slouched my back against the couch.
"Yeah, that lady was always hungry anyway!" Racquel giggled before putting down the magazine that was in her hands then looked at me with a big smile.
"You're lucky to have her as your aunt..." I said to her.
"And you're lucky to have her as your doctor" she replied.
"Yeah, she's more like a mother to me" I closed my eyes and looked at the clock plastered on the wall adjacent to us.
Her cheerful smile faded as her eyes softened. She sighed and I instantly knew she was going to tell me a whole prologue, I'm not really a fan but I might as well go with the therapy.
"She's a mother to everyone..." she started, "My mom died and she was the only mother like figure I had. My father, I lived with him but he doesn't really want auntie to communicate with the family"
On my first week of therapy, the doctor told me a secret of hers so that It will be easy for me to tell mine. I exactly know what the secret of her family is but it's sad and confidential that I don't even want to think about it.
"Why though?" I asked to make it look like I know nothing about it.
"I don't really know. There's a lot of things I don't know between them. There are times that I just don't care. You know, I grew up without a sibling and Raine was there to fill that gap"
Her voice lost its former tone as it degraded the more she tries to emphasize the heavy words. She found warmth in my arms so she just dove into my arms without permission.
"So please take care of her... I really really want her to be safe in the heavens," she said.
"Yeah..." I muttered and tried to push her out of my touch but she tightened her grip around me so I patted her back and literally tried to push her away but harder this time.
"Yeah. Now get out of—"
"Hey... You know what date it is?"
The random question made me think, very deeply. It's not my job to know what date it is but it got me thinking. Is there something important today?
Don't tell me—
"Too fucked up to remember." I bounced a little from my seat and asked her, "Is it Raine's birthday?!"
Her grip started losing its grip around my waist, she looked up to me and stared into my eyes for a little before smiling sadly.
"Just as I thought... You don't remember anything..." she muttered.
The feeling of guilt was starting to wash over me. If it really was Raine's birthday today then I'm officially the crappiest lover of all times.
"It's not Raine's birthday, don't worry..." she said as my chest released all that bombing blood freely without guilt.
My back slouched back as the relaxing rush of serene satisfaction took over troubled thoughts. I can't believe I'm born here in the city of love. It was like the heavens playing dart games and ironopoly at the same time.
"April 11—"
"What?" I asked.
"I'm just wondering— you know I loved you then, right?" she looked away, hiding away her obviously flushed face. "I just want to know if you loved me too"
She still has feelings for me but I need to end it here.
The feelings I know that I ended two years ago...
"Honestly, I was more satisfied with our relationship back then. It was not so special that if you break up with me, which you did, I would not mind" I explained.
She looked at me with lips slightly apart and eyes fixated on my narrating lips.
"I'm happy to have you then but when you left, I didn't feel empty." I ended, not looking away from her.
Her eyes blinked a few times to the struck of reality. She closed her eyes for a little bit and smiled before punching me playfully on my left arm.
"Ouch!" she exclaimed and laughed.
"Hey, you already know what you wanted to know!" I said, looking again at the wall clock.
Strange...
My eyes darted from the observation room to the bathroom beside it, the details were small but there were signs of struggle around that area. The wall paint was slightly scraped off and the stench was becoming more of an atmosphere around the room.
What happened while I was passed out?
I was on the verge of zoning out if only Racquel didn't hug my left arms before squeezing my biceps.
"But still I miss hugging you! I bet you got so far with Raine, huh?" she wriggled her eyebrows which made me uneasy. "Just as far as w—"
"Yeah... Well actually, we don't really—" I said embarrassingly after I stripped her clinging hands off my arm.
She was baffled by my words and stood in front of me. Out of nowhere, she imprisoned me in a confined space with her two arms on either side of me and started interrogating me about my sexual relationship with Raine.
Goodness! I don't know girls are hornier than me...
"You don't kiss?!" she exclaimed, bringer her face closer.
"Yeah, we—"
"You don't pleasure each other?!" her face is only an inch away.
"In some way—"
"You don't put your—"
Our noses are touching tips but then suddenly the door of the office slammed open, revealing a tall boy with a mop of grey locks. We awkwardly stared at his face, his mouth agape and eyes wide as if he had seen a crime scene.
Before I managed to push Racquel away, a brisk flash of light disturbed my eyes for a while.
Did he just take a picture of us?
"AHA! I knew you two were cheating on Raine!"
He pointed his slender fingers in our direction before smirking. Pushing Racquel out of the way, I stood up and shot death glares at the smiling male.
Racquel was just staring at us and watched us giving each other silent bullets in the head. He showed me his phone and teasingly put it back into his pocket.
"What the fuck are you doing here?!" I exclaimed, putting force as much as I can to intimidate him.
"I said I'll pay you a visit, right?" he winked. "I'm glad I did it!"
"How did you even get past the guard?" Racquel joined in the conversation and stood beside me.
"Easy..." he proudly started."UH—"
History statement was cut off by the door opening gently behind him. All the blood from his face was drained as a hand made its way on top of his right shoulder.
Good luck escaping now...
"Manong Guard... I can explain..." he stuttered, shaking in his stylish boots.
The gigantic muscular man loomed over him before turning to us and asking, "Did he do something? He just walked like a model past me like a mad man"
I wasn't going to say anything to save the pitiful faggot but Racquel stepped in and made a believable story.
"Don't worry Sir, he's very sick in the head and needs severe help." she notified with a sound tone.
"He ate his own balls after dipping it into mustard... Poor boy!" I stepped into the conversation, trying my best to contain my laughter.
All Klavier could do is to just stand there while frowning. He probably realized that the only way to escape this is to agree with both Racquel and me.
"So he's a patient?" the once scary man turned into a sweet guard with a concerned look.
"He is." Racquel nodded and widened her eyes to make Klavier speak "— isn't that right Klavier?"
Klavier squinted his eyes before performing a fake smile to show the security guard as he looked up to answer, "Mhmm..."
Here it comes...
"My balls are delicio— so" Klavier licked his lips.
Pfft...
In disbelief, the guard took off his hat and bowed for a second to pat respect before exiting his body halfway to the door.
"Well I'll pray for your immediate recovery." he softly said to Klavier. "Especially— Ahem— for your balls"
The room sounded like a forest with only the crickets and the grasshoppers producing the background music.
"Wow..." I commented before chuckling at the stupefied expression of the bisexual opposite to my side.
"Now I'll eat your balls too"
All I have to do is to move to the side to dodge his poor strategic attack. I chuckled when his face was smashed to the door of the restroom. The door slightly opened but he immediately closed it before standing up
"You're late it's already reserved for someone else" I smirked.
Racquel stood between us because of the looks of Klavier, attacking me then, failing miserably again. I put my hands on my pockets as Klavier brushed his hair backward, attempting to redeem its former style.
"Boys! I won't let you make a mess in my auntie's office..." Racquel's eyes the both of us.
"Where is she anyway?" asked Klavier while looking around the room.
"We don't know..." she sighed
"You're too busy making landi kasi eh," he whispered to the both of us. Here he is again, using his advantage of knowing an unfamiliar language to hide the true meaning of his bullshits.
"What?" I asked.
"I said you're busy flirting with my baby girl's best friend!" he exclaimed, getting ready to attack me again but Racquel hugged him and walked him far from me.
"Klavier... You know we're not" Racquel told him.
"I got a picture!" the boy retaliated.
"You know this is not real..." Racquel half-whispered.
"Oh c'mon! I thought you were in on this." Klavier threw his arms in the air in surrender before walking around in circles.
"We've talked about this plan literally just hours ago"
The both of them crashed while I'm just here listening to the said plan about me, thinking if I should leave or save Racquel from the enraged faggot.
"He's changed for the better and we all can see that!" Racquel defended me.
Okay! I must cut this crap...
"What is he talking about?" I dived into their conversation. "Y'all planning to sabotage me?!"
Racquel looked at me for a second before attending to the frustrated Klavier once more.
"A Heinz is not just one monster. There is a whole army behind the name. If he changes, a pack of flesh-eating wolves will haunt the town" Klavier tried to convince the blonde woman.
"Don't you want Raine to have a better life? Just this once, don't fall for Mr. Ketchup's charms"
He pointed again at me, this time he actually looked at me and sent me a crispy middle finger.
"Klavier." Racquel sighed and made Klavier sit on the couch. "Raine wants a life with him. That's the reality we cannot change even if Raine does catch us cheating on her."
"Okay. I'm out of here! I don't like drama much" I told them, holding my hands up, ready to exit the door. "It's not like I'm the topic of this play..."
"Why? This reminds you of your daddy issues?" I heard Klavier said.
I stopped and turned around to look at him. This is shit! I don't even know why I deal with but I just do.
"It does." I smirked "Why are you always unto me? Do I remind you of your 'sugar daddy' issues?"— Then pouted at him.
The heated moment was interrupted with Racquel nervously laughing at our tactics.
"Enough. Let's all head out..." she suggested and took the initiative to open the door for us. "As much as I want to see your bromance fight, I don't have time because I have a very special girl waiting for next door..."
I put my hands back to my pockets and became the first to exit, followed by Klavier, and then Racquel was the one to close the door.
We walked through the wide empty hallways; I was ahead of them while they walked more slowly than my pace.
"This is what I'm planning to do just minutes ago..." I muttered and looked back at them
Racquel flashed an apologetic frown; I just nodded in forgiveness while Klavier rolled his eyes at her expression.
"This is what I'm planning to do just minutes ago..." he imitated my voice but in a silly style.
Racquel's laughed and whispered, "You two could be great friends, you know that?"
Almost at the same time, we answered without hesitation.
"Never," I replied.
Klavier, "Whatever."
Racquel turned to the side to talk to the sweet lady receptionist so we stopped for a minute with Klavier beside me, looking at me with bored disgusted eyes.
I'm used to it...
"Hi Ma'am! Please inform my aunt that I kidnapped her two patients, alright?" Racquel smiled sweetly after holding the old lady's hand. "And contact me if she gets home safely."
The lady looked incredibly exhausted; her eyes have big black circles around them. Her skin tone matched the pallid color of the hospital walls. It was not her cheerful appearance when I arrived a while ago.
"You—" she looked up and muttered.
Who?
"You?" she muttered again but this time louder.
"Ma'am?" Racquel asked worriedly.
Her pupils dilated, she stood up from her seat and backed away slowly and tried to grab the phone from the back desk but it fell to the floor. The sweat from her forehead glistened as they kept coming down.
"What's your problem, lady?" Klavier rolled his eyes and pulled Racquel close to him.
"You!!!" she pointed to Klavier and cried.
Her legs were so wobbly that she had to find support from the counter behind her. She pointed to Klavier and Racquel's direction while trying to grab the fallen phone from the floor.
"You!!!" the woman shouted that pierced our soul.
"Who?" I asked and started to approach the woman when Racquel grabbed the sleeves of my coat to pull me, stopping me from my actions.
"Let's get out of here..." whispered Klavier, I hesitated at first but Racquel's grip tightened even more.
I sighed and threw one last look at the frightened lady. Turning to my side, I'm the first one to walk away from the scene. Everything seems so strange.
'Is it medicine? Damn. I'll never take that again... And another thing that's bothering me is why did the lady freak out when she saw Klavier,' I thought while walking.
I looked back to see Klavier comforting the shaking blonde by running his hands up and down her spine. Our eyes met but he just avoided it, I looked ahead and saw the people doing the same thing.
"Hey mister, where's the blood?" I stopped walking when I felt tugging on the hem of my shirt.
Looking down, I saw a little boy with a name tag and number on his shirt. He smiled at me and asked me to kneel because he's going to whisper something.
Annoyingly, I did and his words haunted me.
"Mister, where's the blood?" he whispered. "Where is the body?"
A nurse came to pick him up, she apologized and bowed before taking the boy away from my location. My eyes followed them and the boy's eyes remained intact in my direction.
"Damn this hospital is literally crazy. Even the staffs and children are cuckoo clocks!" I heard Klavier complained before walking past me.
...
What the hell was that?!
...
The sky was starting to darken, signaling it's already past 6:30 pm.
"You need a lift, Saccharide?" Racquel asked me, nudging my arms when I did nothing but stare at my feet.
"No, he doesn't!" Klavier exclaimed, waiting for my answer.
I looked up and gulped, feeling my water-deprived throat get moist, "Actually, I do." I stuttered.
Racquel laughed at Klavier's priceless expression, they were yelling and throwing verbal threats at each other about how Klavier is a being selfish bastard.
But then—
"It's about time you show yourself again, you bullshit..." I whispered.
On the corner of my eyes, there he was, standing and leaning against the brick wall on the parking lot. His eyes were already telling me what he wanted.
Klavier, "I will not let him enter my car!"
Racquel, "Would you let him enter you?"
Klavier, "Yeah but— that's not the point, you bitch!"
My fist curled into a ball before turning to the two and stopping their argument. He beckoned me at the darkest corner of the parking lot, the only guide I have was his lit cigarette shining in the dark.
"I'll take the bus..." I told them before walking away.
I did not say anything else and walked towards that small source of light. He was still leaning on the wall while finishing his cigarette.
He looked at me before tossing the cigarette on the ground with a flick of his wrist.
"My liege..."
"Let's get this over with..."
