Here's the thing about Ivy, she grows on you. I was happy that I could work with her for the Criminology class because a lot was needed from us. Also, she was a great friend.
I placed some snacks on the kitchen table and brought out some sparkling water, juice, and boiled some water for tea. She would be arriving in about fifteen minutes and I was excited to have her over for the first time!
Ding! Dong!
I hopped to the door and swung it open before she could ring the bell again. The night air was warm. Tiny moths danced under the yellow light.
"Hey," I said, stepping aside to let her in.
"Hey, I brought some chips and oatmeal cookies," Ivy replied, stepping in.
She took off her sneakers at the door, wore a pair of black house slippers, and followed me into the kitchen.
"Your house is beautiful," Ivy said, taking off her sweater. She dropped her backpack under the kitchen aisle and took a seat.
