We sat quietly. Once I finished my muffin, I sipped my tea and watched him watch me. I could tell by the way he looked at me that he had had enough.
"Let's start from the beginning, shall we?" I asked.
"And how will that help us since you do not trust me?" Lloyd replied.
"You do realize that I cannot just trust you, right?" I stressed. "We just met for the first time, and for all I can tell, this might be a plot to ruin my parents or worse, have my family killed."
"Harsh," He sighed.
"So, let's put everything on the table," I clarified, "Then we can be on the same page."
"Fine, let me first get the bill," he said calling Lianne over.
"One bill?" Lianne asked.
"Put it on this card, please," Lloyd said, taking out a black card from his leather wallet.
"Sure, I'll be right back."
"Thank you for paying," I said.
"No need to thank me, Mila," he said. "I asked you to come."
