There was a lot I had to tell Caitlyn. I did not know where to start because I was confused. What did I want?
"What do you want?"
"Huh?"
"For lunch. I am buying. What can I get you?" Caitlyn asked.
We had just joined the cafeteria line. Students were chatting, and the air was filled with excitement and anxiety. The anxiety was mostly from me, of course.
"Not too hungry. I'll have the large protein smoothie," I replied.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yeah, I don't want to throw up," I insisted.
I slurped my smoothie as we headed towards the balcony. The sun was out, and it was getting warmer. I spotted Ivy heading towards the parking lot and called out without thinking.
"Ivy!"
She turned, looked up, waved hesitantly, and kept walking. Something was off. She had not replied to any of my texts. I was getting worried.
"She seems aloof," Caitlyn said, peering over my shoulder.
