When we reach the house, there is a Christmas party going on. Oh no, I can't go in with my half-torn dress. This is so embarrassing.
"I know," he squeezes my hand before I can say anything. "David, we are going to a hotel!" he orders. David immediately turns the car from the gate and we go to a hotel. I change myself into a bathrobe and sit on the sofa watching TV as Nathan finishes off his work.
"Oh no," he says as he enters the bedroom, "You can't be wearing that!" he shakes his head.
"Why not?" I ask.
"Cause that can wake the sleeping monster inside me," he says with a smirk and I laugh.
"Well, that was my intention," I say trying to get equally cocky. I fiddle with the lace of my robe.
"What if you regret it?" he whispers closing the small gap between us, his fingers are on mine ready to open the knot. With one swift motion, he opens the robe and takes it off me, leaving me in just my bra and panties.
He pushes me to the edge of the bed and lies on top of me, kissing me hard. I take off his shirt and pull him into me. I moan as he opens my bra and kisses my bare chest. My breathing gets uneven and bite my lip to control my moans.
"April," He says and I hum. My name sounds amazing on his lips. "April." He says again.
"April, wake up!" he says. I look at him with confusion and he vanishes breaking my dream. Wait! Did I have a wet dream about Nathan? I jerk my eyes open to find him standing beside me waiting for me to wake up. I'm still in the robe.
"What were you moaning about?" he asks me with a smirk on his face.
"Nothing!" I say, red from embarrassment, "Did I say something in my sleep?" No, please God, no I didn't.
"No you didn't." he assures me and starts to go back to the living room, "By the way, that looks good on you." he points at the robe before leaving. I blush at his comment and grab my dinner plate. I text Venessa informing her everything is more than okay. I finish my dinner and jump on the bed. Nathan has still not returned from the living room. I hate David for ruining that moment for us. I pout and fix my eyes on the TV, trying not to think about him and his body.
"Hey," Nathan grabs my attention as he enters the bedroom, "Sorry about that." He sits at the edge of the bed.
"It's okay," I say, "Did you eat?"
"Hmm," he hums and changes the channel. We both stare at the TV, and this sudden awkward air around starts to bother me.
"Were you jealous?" I ask the question running in my mind all along.
"No," came back a simple reply.
"No?"
"No." He says again. Well, okay. This shouldn't bother me, right? So what if my husband wasn't jealous when I kissed another man? This. Does not. Bother. Me. Period. I look away from him when I feel his fingers running up and down my arm.
"I loved the gift." He says to me, taking my face in his hands, "It was so thoughtful." He moves his face closer to mine and gives me a small, gentle kiss. He pulls back and his eyes scan my face. We move back into the bed comfortably.
"I am glad you liked it. I was very confused, so I contacted your friends. Merry Christmas, Nathan."
"Merry Christmas, darling." He looks at me affectionately. There is a moment of silence between us. Neither of us is very sure what to say now. "So," he breaks the silence, "What was that dream about?" He smirks.
"Nothing," I say. He puts an arm around me pulling me closer. I hesitantly accept his embrace.
"Nothing, huh?" He tickles me.
"Nathan," I warn him and he does it again, "What is the matter with you?" I hit him and he laughs.
"Just annoying my wife." He chuckles. This is the first time he has addressed me as his wife without media or anyone else. It's sweet and I like it. He pulls me closer and says, "I know what it was all about. After all, I have experienced them myself." A blush creeps through my cheeks. He has had wet dreams about me?
We talk about some random things before we fall asleep. When I wake up the next morning it's raining outside. Beautiful weather, perfect timing to fall back to sleep. I cover my face with the blanket and fall back to sleep.
"How much do you sleep, Grey?" I hear a groan from Nathan, "Life gets boring with you."
"Oh yeah, and before me you used to have naked fashion shows?"
"No... But come to think of it it's not a bad idea." he jumps onto me, "Let's start with you?" he says and I remove the blanket from my face.
"Eww, Walsh! Get off me!"
"Nope." he shakes his head.
"You are the most annoying person ever!" I say and shove him off me with all my might.
"You know you are not that strong for a person who is so chubby." he tucks my cheeks.
"Enough! I have had it the fat shaming!" I say.
"Who calls you fat?"
"You do! Like all the time."
"Hmm, I guess we can only find out by getting that robe off you," he smirks. God, he is such a pervert.
"Can you boys think about anything else?"
"We can, we just prefer not to. Especially when you have your wife beside you wearing just a robe with a loose knot." he shifts closer to me. My heart is already hammering my ribs. This is all new and weird and oh my God, I can be dreaming again.
"Is this a dream again?" I pinch Nathan.
"Ow! Bad April!" he complains and pouts making me laugh, "But wait for a second, what do you mean by again? Did you just admit you have been having wet dreams about me?" He smirks at me.
"Noo," I look away.
"Yes! You did! You are blushing!" he burst out laughing and I smile seeing him so happy and cheerful. He's great, just a bit arrogant, self-centred, rude, so hot that it kills me to see him wearing so many clothes, a little caring and mostly annoying but all in all great.
I go to the bathroom and take a long refreshing shower. I wear the robe again as I still don't have anything else to wear. David has gone to shop for me let's see when he'll be back. I turn to the bed to see Nathan lying there shirtless with a rose between his teeth.
"Hello," he says and I burst out laughing.
"Seriously? What are you trying to do?"
"Offer you my body." he eyes on me, "People die for it, you know." he takes the rose out of his mouth and traces his chest with it, making me laugh harder. I move to the bed and sit in front of him.
"This is the most pathetic I have seen you." I climb into the bed.
"Really? So you are saying you are not turned on at all?" I shake my head no, "So you are saying that if I open these jeans, there would be no effect on you, right?" his voice is husky. A sudden excitement rises in me and I gulp, not saying anything.
I feel the rose petals tingle my skin giving me goosebumps. His hair is covering his forehead.
"No," I say in a whisper and my hand moves his hair from his face. He leans into me connecting his lips with mine. I deepen the kiss, my body already demanding more. He grabs my thighs and makes me lie on my back, climbing on top of me. My hands travel through his hair and lightly tug on them. My body gets tensed when I feel his hand travel up my thigh.
"You okay?" he breaks our kiss. I look into his eyes and nod. He smiles at me and starts kissing my jawline. He squeezes my thighs and I moan. As he reaches to open the knot of my robe we hear a knock on the door.
"Fuck you, David!" Nathan shouts.
"Sir, I brought Mrs Walsh's clothes," he says through the door.
"Mrs Walsh doesn't need clothes," he says and I hit him in the arm.
"Get off me!" I whisper yell. He pouts in denial. I push him off me and straighten up. I walk outside the bedroom and open the door for David.
"Hi, David!" I smile.
"You are chirpy this morning." he smiles back, "Had a good night's sleep?" he pumps his eyebrows as he hands me a Gucci bag.
"Yeah!"
"What's taking you so long?" Nathan enters the room.
"You see sir, this is how I feel when you take Andrea from me." David laughs and I join him. Nathan's hand's snake around my waist.
"Mine," he kisses my cheek.
"Yours," I give him a close-up smile and connect our foreheads.
That day when I reach the orphanage I don't care to find out whether Dylan left or not. The children are playing and I let them, without interfering I sit on the swing watching them play.
"Hey," I get a tap on the shoulder.
"Please don't be Dylan!" I whisper and turn. It's Noah! Whoa!
"Hey," I say, a little confused by his friendly tone.
"I want to show you something." he says, "I was thinking about what you said and you are right it won't kill me to share. So I did some research on a thing and I want to show you."
"Of course! I would be delighted." I'm so happy he has finally decided to open up. I get that at his age it is difficult to express yourself. I am happy that he is trying. Noah takes me to the office of the orphanage. I have seen it from the outside but have never been inside.
He moves to the other end and opens a drawer full of files. They must be the adoption files of children. Why has Noah brought me here? Are we even allowed here?
"I was just going through them and look what I found!" he says cheerfully. He hands me a file, "Open it. You'll find something to your liking." he smiles. I smile back and open the file.
It's a file of a girl who was picked up from the street by Mr Anderson, the owner of this orphanage, the girl was not older than some weeks. It had a picture of the girl when she was brought to the orphanage. The line at the end of the paragraph shook the ground beneath my feet.
"The girl was adopted by Mr and Mrs Andrew Grey when she was a month old." I read as tears fall from my eyes.
