Roselyn steps back, smiling lightly.
"I guess practice is done for today. Let's head home." Andreas says, walking toward the door.
Roselyn follows him, still puzzled.
She remains silent until they arrive at Andreas' house.
She was walking toward her room when Andreas takes her hand.
She turns around looking at him in the eye. Her look was cold, ambiguous, like if she was mad at him.
"If you need anything, I'm here Rose." He holds eye contact with her.
She looks away, she was feeling a mixture of feelings altogether.
She felt guilty for blaming her mother all the years, for not having looked for the truth. She felt hurt, despair but at the same time she felt lost, empty.
Tears were not streaming down her face, but still, she felt the saddest she's ever been.
At this point what's worst? Thinking your mother abandoned you on purpose or knowing for a fact that your mother maybe would have loved you if it wasn't for destiny.
Those questions were flashing through her mind leaving her in a whirl of negative emotions.
"Leave me alone." She whispers avoiding his touch.
"Roselyn.." He looks at her, he seemed vulnerable, like if he was feeling sorry.
She turns around, she inclines her head waiting for him to speak.
"You can talk to me." He says.
She shakes her head taking a step forward when Andreas stops her once again.
Roselyn looks at him annoyed, it was visible her anger in her eyes.
"Please Roselyn don't shut me down." He whispers.
"I want to be alone." She raises her voice.
"I can't even imagine how angry you are right now. But I guarantee you that I will do my best to make you meet her. If that's what can make you feel better."
She hints at a smile.
"But please don't shut me down." He whispers.
"Trust me, I know it's easier just to close yourself off. But right now you can't do that. You're so much stronger than all the anger that eats you up inside. You're much stronger than all your demons." He brushes her hair away from her face looking into her eyes.
Roselyn nods, looking away.
"When can I meet her?" She asks. Avoiding his gaze.
"I will try to call her. And ask her to meet you."
He says finally catching her gaze. Her eyes light up, "really?" She asks, finally smiling sincerely.
He nods, returning the smile.
He becomes serious again. "But you don't have to tell anyone."
"Thank you." She whispers as she feels her anger slowly calm down.
"Back to business, pasta for dinner?" He raises an eyebrow. Roselyn laughs, nodding.
She looks at him cooking, smiling. He's not like the first day she's met him, right now he was being a completely different person. She wonders which version is the right one.
"Of course it's the first one." He says, turning around.
Roselyn scoffs "can you stop reading my thoughts?" She complains.
"Don't tell anybody that I am making you pasta or that I was kind before." He says threatening her with a wooden spoon.
Roselyn giggles "why? Because it may ruin your reputation?" She folds her arms, rolling her eyes.
"Exactly." He says strutting.
They both laugh.
He hands the first dish to Roselyn who puts it on the table.
"Let's play the questions game." Roselyn says.
He chuckles. "I don't do those silly games, Rose. Do them with Ben."
"Come on. You're boooring." She rolls her eyes.
"Fine." He scoffs. "But I'll go first."
Roselyn nods, waiting for his question.
"Do you like Ben?" He asks, washing the second dish.
Roselyn frowns. "Why do you ask?"
He shrugs, drying the dish.
"I don't know him well enough and I have a boyfriend." Roselyn answers, she takes the second dish that Andreas passes to her. Their hands touch.
Roselyn feels a shiver run through her arms as she blushes.
He seems impassive as he says "your turn."
Roselyn nods, composing herself.
"Is it true that you have rules?" She asks with ease.
"Rules about not sleeping more than three times with the same girl and about not opening up." She explains better.
"I do." He says with a cold tone.
"Why?" She asks immediately.
They both sit at the table.
"Let's eat now." He says ignoring her question.
"Come on." She harasses him.
He rolls his eyes. "Because I don't want to get close. I don't do relationships. Never did, never will." He says eating his meal.
Roselyn tastes the pasta and exclamates "soo good."
She talks again after taking a few bites. "But dating is good. Having someone you can fully rely on is amazing. Someone who loves you no matte-"
Andreas stops her talking "Does Mark love you?" He asks.
Roselyn nods. "Yet you've never called him those days. And you didn't even think about him when you were flirting with Ben. Like I could kiss you right now and you wouldn't even remember you have a boyfriend." He states.
"That's not true. I would never kiss you." Roselyn responds with an angry tone of voice. He was being an asshole again.
"My point is that love hardly exists. There's always one person who loves the other more, who would do anything for the other. But in the end what's left? Years wasted with someone who didn't even deserve all that attention. By not having relationships I spare everyone a lot of pain." Roselyn shows an expression of displeasure, shaking her head.
