"So you think I am stupid?" Andreas asks glaring at Rose.
Roselyn starts to walk reaching the sofa where Karen was widening her eyes at the sight of Andreas.
"Roselyn stop." He raises his voice making Roselyn turn around and stop her walking.
"I just wanted to come and have fun. Do I have to ask you permission for that?" She blurts moving her hands nervously.
"You do if you're under my responsibility." He says without hesitation. He takes the drink from her hands and puts it on a table.
"Drunk flirting with a random boy?" He raises an eyebrow folding his arms.
"I am not drunk." Roselyn rolls her eyes.
Karen walks toward them "It's my fault, I asked her to come here." Karen says trying to help Roselyn.
"I don't think she needs to be convinced to make bad choices, Karen." He was having that cold severe attitude that Roselyn hated so much.
To her, he had no right to make scenes, she wasn't doing anything bad.
"Can you stop insinuating? Judging me when you don't even know me?" Roselyn raises her voice making a few guys turn around and stare at her.
"I am not insinuating. I know for sure. In our offices, we have dossiers about students and their lives, and yours is full of bad behaviors."
"This is insane and should be a privacy invasion!" Roselyn yells in anger.
"Poor girl! Privacy invasion." He jokes but by doing it, he drives her even angrier.
"You're a fucking asshole. I hate you so much!" She pushes him strongly as she walks away.
Karen, who didn't know what to say nor how to help her, follows her trying to walk as fast as her.
When they get out of the house, Roselyn screams releasing all her anger.
"I hate him!" She blurts out.
"He becomes an asshole when he sees students or people he cares about partying, drinking, or even smoking," Karen says checking where he was.
"He's coming." She whispers when he sees him.
Rose snorts as soon as he reaches them.
"Can we go home now?" He asks with an annoyed tone of voice.
Roselyn nods no then she states "if you've read the dossier well enough you should know that I never leave a party before 2 am. So YOU can go."
Karen smirks off her face, receiving an angry gaze from Andreas.
"Stop acting childish now." He says, moving his gaze toward Rose.
"Karen you should go home too." he then says causing Karen to roll her eyes.
Before they can complain, he murmurs Latin words and they return to Andreas' house.
"You've some serious issue about controlling everything. You should get checked out." She says angrily.
"Roselyn, don't provoke me I'm already disappointed enough. Go to sleep." He says turning his back.
"Disappointed? For having gone to a fucking party?" She asks rolling her eyes.
Andreas ignores her and walks to his room.
Roselyn lays on her bed looking up at the ceiling with a resigned look on her face. She missed her family, her friends, and the routine she had. In that school, it was all so different and Andreas was so weird, his way of switching between behaviors was driving her crazy.
She was already stressed enough for her mother and about learning how to control her powers, she didn't need other people bothering her.
The next morning Andreas cooked some pancakes for breakfast.
When Rose walks into the kitchen, he nods lightly to say hi and then he sits down eating.
Roselyn was still sleepy, she pours some coffee into her cup and after taking some sips, she finally speaks "good morning."
He lifts his head to give her a glimpse and then keeps eating quietly.
Roselyn sneers in annoyance.
"That's good. You're a good cooker." She states, finishing her meal.
"Thanks." He replies with a cold tone, putting places in the dishwasher.
Roselyn rolls her eyes and starts to walk toward her room when he calls her "Roselyn. As I promised you last night I'll try to make you meet your mother. You have the day off today so you can go to every party you want to go to, and do whatever you want to do. That won't affect the promise I made." He says avoiding her gaze and keeps looking down at the dishes.
Roselyn smiles, approaching him. "Are you sure?" She asks suddenly feeling guilty for the argument they had the previous night. It was kind and mature of him to say that, he could have just seized the opportunity to avoid taking such a big risk.
He nods, so Roselyn instinctively hugs him from behind, smiling hugely. He doesn't move and Rose walks backward "I'm sorry for last night, I overreacted pretty much." She admits looking down the floor.
"It's fine." He says sounding distant.
"It's not fine if you're mad at me."
He finishes putting dishes in the dishwasher and finally looks at her in the eye.
"I overreacted too. I didn't have to make you feel bad about your past or for having gone to a party."
Roselyn looks at him surprised, that was not the answer she was expecting, nevertheless, she was highly doubting he was being sincere.
"Why did you act that way though?" Roselyn asks.
"Because as I said before, I hate when people lie to me." He says looking away like if he was omitting part of the truth.
"Just for that?" Roselyn asks.
He nods, smiling lightly.
"I'm sorry too, I overreacted but have to understand that I'm still in shock for all those things happening to me."
"I understand." He says, genuinely smiling.
They both remain silent for a few seconds when Andreas's phone starts ringing.
As soon as he picks up the phone, on his face appears an expression of shock as he widens his eyes and mouth. He takes a long breath and then speaks "Hello Angelina. It's Andreas."
Roselyn, hearing her mother's name, puts her hands over her mouth, she stood paralyzed gormlessly unable to say anything. Millions of doubts pervade in her.
What if her mother didn't want to meet her? What if she will eventually find out that she's a bad person?
Fear creeps in as she starts to shake.
Andreas nods at his phone gazing at Roselyn.
