Gabriel opens a wooden door, entering a small room. There were hundreds of pictures covering the walls. Pictures of students posing and showing some trophies. In the front wall, there was a huge tv, positioned on an ancient shelf. He points out a picture at the center of the wall, "this is your mother. Angelina Berkshire."
The woman in the picture has very long brown hair, just like Roselyn. Her eyes are of a deep blue. Rose stares closely to see better. She wonders why Andreas had never shown her that picture.
"why is this picture bigger than the others'?" she asks.
"because she played an important role in helping us to defend the school against the Dark Souls. She was one of the strongest women ever existed. That's why her photo is bigger, but that's not all..."
He presses his finger on the picture,
It starts to sink in the wall. Roselyn watches astonished.
The wall starts to roll on itself, revealing a new side full of Angelina's pictures, from childhood to adulthood.
Roselyn's eyes fill with tears, she finally was getting the opportunity to see her, to know more about her, about her past.
She felt like she had something in common with her as if they were connected, she wasn't appearing to Rose like a stranger anymore.
"do you know where she is?" Roselyn demanded.
"Yes." He immediately answers, as if he was expecting that question.
Roselyn looks at him, yearning for a response.
"When it's time, she will meet you."
Roselyn looks down the floor, disappointed yet puzzled. That was not the answer she was waiting for.
He points to a picture in the left corner of the wall.
"Here she was participating in a magic competition in Ohio. She won, as usual, but guess who was his ultimate challenger?" he waits a bunch of seconds then smiles "me. That's how we met." On Roselyn's face appears a hint of a smile.
"she looks very young.." Roselyn observes.
He nods "She was very young here. She was only sixteen years old."
Andreas was with Emily. They were having a heated argument.
"If you say we're not dating then why did we sleep together last month? And 2 months ago too? You have all those rules about not sleeping with the same girl more than 3 times but we have been sleeping together for 1 year, Andreas. Don't you think it's normal for me to be jealous?" She yells all in a breath, she was wild with rage.
"I'm sorry if I led you on..."
"You're lying to yourself. You can't accept the fact that you love me." She placated.
"Believe in whatever you want. It's over between us now."
He hissed, gazing at her.
She swallows, murmuring "w-what" her eyes fill with tears. She looks up trying to choke back the tears.
"This time, for good. You're getting too attached." He says with a stern voice.
Emily's tears start falling down her face, ruining her mascara, which causes black spots under her eyes.
She sobs. Although he'd never seen her cry before, he wasn't showing any pity.
She rubs her eyes, "okay fine." She walks away stomping over, then opens the door and slams it hard.
"Thank you again for showing me my mom, this means so much to me," Roselyn says smiling at Gabriel, once they returned to the cafeteria.
Now the cafeteria was crowded with people.
"It's fine. If you need anything, count on me." He whispers.
"Heeeelllooo Enchantress." Karen shows a big smile to Rose but when she notices Gabriel's presence, she composes herself. "Hello, Sir."
"Hi, Karen. See you around girls." He says waving lightly with his hand, and then turning around to leave.
"He's so scary. Almost as scary as Andreas. But Andreas is hot, at least." She states.
"Fuck I hope he didn't hear this." She covers her mouth with her hand.
Roselyn laughs aloud.
"Isn't there some spells or something to impede the reading?" Roselyn asks.
She shrugs "they don't always do that. Because it consumes much energy."
"However, did you hear about the news?" She whispers, leaning close to Rose and raising her eyebrows.
She doesn't wait for a response as she spits out. "Andreas dumped Emily for g o o d "
Roselyn frowns "So they were together?"
"No they weren't but they slept together often." She explains.
"He claims to be against smoke, alcohol, etcetera, but then he's the first one to have flings?" Roselyn rolls her eyes as a sign to show her displeasure.
"He has his rules" Karen emphasizes rules giggling.
"He doesn't sleep with the same girl more than three times. He never sleeps with her in his bed. As well as, he doesn't reveal anything about his family, his past, his emotions... He doesn't open up with anyone."
Roselyn shakes her head, "Then why with Karen.." her face was stunned yet disappointed.
"I don't know." She shrugs. "But what matters is that he's free now" Karen smirks.
"What do you mean?"
"Come on, I saw the way you looked at him before playing Ben's game, you were trying to make him jealous. And he's everygirl's crush so.." she hits Rose lightly.
"I wasn't trying to make him jealous." Roselyn folds her arms.
"Sure sure. By the way, he has a thing for brunettes."
Roselyn rolls her eyes once again. "You're being annoying Karen." She mumbles.
"He is like every girl's erotic dream here. Just admit it. I had a huge crush on him until I turned 16. After one hour of disturbing his class, he threatened me to turn myself into a huge hairy spider, so I started to hate him and fear him at the same time."
Roselyn chuckles.
"I hate spiders. And he seemed very serious when he threatened me. I had nightmares for one week straight." She continues.
"So you're suggesting me to get threatened by him?" Roselyn asks, giggling.
"Ah! Busted! So you admit you have a crush on him!" Karen's face lights up.
Roselyn shakes her head, raising her hands in surrender.
