Sure enough, Wade Rider is already outside when we arrive. Liana hurriedly gestures for me to enter through the back and I nod and head around the other side of the mansion.
I manage to climb up to my bedroom balcony. Fortunately, the door isn't locked and I can easily slide myself inside. Liana should be making an excuse for me right now.
I gasp as I hear footsteps and loud voices approach my room. Is he suspecting something?
"Are you sure Tin is out with his girlfriend? He didn't say anything about a girlfriend to me." Wade's voice says.
"Yes, he rang to tell me he is on a date." Liana lies.
"Fine. Let me ring him." Wade says.
No!" Liana says quickly and I hear some shuffling outside my door.
"Dude, why don't you call it a day and leave? We're tired after shopping all day." Pan's voice says.
"Pan, you know I really adore your pretty bodyguard."
"You adore him?!" Pan is just as shocked as I am.
Wade chuckles, "Why else would I come here to look for him?"
"Well, as you now know that he isn't here, you can leave." Pan says coldly.
I sigh out in relief when I hear the footsteps head down. Why is Wade interested in me out of all people? It doesn't sound like he is joking either.
My thoughts are interrupted as someone knocks on the bedroom door. Could it be Wade who has come back up? I don't move. I'll just wait until he gives up and leaves.
"Tin? It's me."
I exhale as I hear Panda's voice from the other side. Literally, canon-balling towards the door, I open it. However, I trip over my own foot and end up knocking Panda down with me.
Our foreheads bump into each other as I land on top of him outside my room. Slowly, I manage to lift my head up and I find myself entranced by his ocean blue eyes.
"Have you stared enough yet?" Panda King suddenly says, breaking me away from the trance of his eyes.
Blushing in embarrassment, I quickly stand up. Why did I think strange things about him just now? Are his eyes really this beautiful? I shake my head, I can't have any thoughts about this man.
"Tin, are you alright?" Pan asks, watching me in concern.
I quickly nod, "I'm fine." I turn around and end up walking into the bedroom door. "Ow." I groan in pain. Damn Panda King, now I can't think properly.
"I think you need to rest Tin. You seem tired after all that shopping."
Is he worried about me? I glance at Pan.
"I'm not that weak. Don't worry." I grin.
He stares at me in disbelief and gestures to my forehead. "You're okay?"
I scowl, "Do you need to argue with me all the time?"
"It's fun." He shrugs. "Wait for me in the room, I'll bring ice for your forehead."
"Thanks." I mumble as he heads down.
As I sit in my bed, I smile. Panda King is weirder every day. Isn't it me who should be taking care of him? Why have the tables turned? A warm feeling engulfs my body. Since when did I smile thinking about my boss?
No. I am Tin, not Tina. I can't have these feelings. We can only ever have a business relationship. And he can never find out that I am a woman.
I lie down on my back and stare up at the ceiling. I'm happy enough with this sort-of-friendship relationship that we have right now. I don't know what will happen in the future, but for now, I feel contentment. Since when did I begin to think this way? Since when did my opinion of Panda King change?
"I've brought the ice."
Hurriedly, I sit up and smile at Pan who enters with some ice wrapped in a cloth. He sits beside me on the bed and gently turns my face towards him with his hand.
His blue eyes stare intensely at my forehead as he presses the ice against me. No wonder there are so many women interested in him. If I was weak, I would melt at the way he is staring at me right now.
"I-I'll do it." I say quickly and move my hand to the ice pack.
"Sshhhh. Let me do it Tin. You're so clumsy." He mutters.
His minty breath is like a breeze as it touches my face. I try to control the emotions boiling within my chest.
"Pan, Tin!" We both look up in puzzlement at Liana's voice.
"What's wrong?" Pan asks as she pushes the door open. He is still holding the ice pack to my head.
"There's a leak in your room. I don't think you will be able to sleep on the bed since it's all wet." She says worriedly.
"I'll get the plumber to fix it tomorrow." Pan says before turning back to me, "I'll sleep with Tin tonight."
Liana smiles, "Okay."
After she leaves, I glance at Pan in irritation. "Did you even ask me about sleeping here?"
"It's my house and technically all rooms in this house belong to me so I don't need permission." He says, going back to his arrogant nature. I roll my eyes. Here I thought he had changed.
"What if I don't want you here?" I say with a glare as he continues to press the ice pack on me.
He grins, "Come on, we're both men." He wraps his other arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to him. "What's the issue?"
The issue is that we're too close and I'm having difficulty controlling both my emotions and breathing because of you!
"Fine. But you can't sleep on the bed." I say in defeat.
