"Woah! What are you doing?"
We simultaneously turn to look at the guest standing in the doorway.
"You should have locked the door." He smirks as his red-pink eyes hover between Panda and I.
Pan's ears tint red as he glares, "Wade Rider! What are you doing here?"
"Is that how you greet your saviour?" Wade grins, crossing his arms as he leans against the door frame.
"Tin rescued me. How are you my saviour?" Pan asks.
Wade glances at me, "You didn't tell him?"
I shake my head, "I didn't have a chance to."
He clicks his tongue, "I helped Tin bring you back. You couldn't even sit upright on the motorbike."
As Pan moves slightly, I feel something poke between my legs and stare at him in horror. I forgot for a moment that he is still nude. Is it normal for male friends to see each other in their birthday suits like this?
Wade doesn't seem fazed. Is it only me who is freaking out by myself? Should I act like this is completely a normal daily occurrence for me?
"Anyway, what situation is this? Are you two... you know." Wade grins, pressing his index fingers together.
Pan quickly jumps away from me and grabs his towel, finally covering his bottom half. I exhale. I will probably die of a heart attack if something like this happens again.
"Of course not!" Pan's face is red as he speaks loudly.
"You heard him." I say, trying to control my expression.
Suddenly, Wade walks inside and wraps an arm around my shoulders. "Let's go outside Tin."
He takes me out to a nearby cafe. I stare at him questioningly. "What are we doing?"
He shrugs as he picks up the menu. "Having a snack."
"No, I mean, why did you bring me here? I'm Pan's bodyguard so I should stay with him." I say in frustration.
Wade glances up from the menu, "You talk too much Tin. Order whatever you want. It's on me."
I sigh, "Hey, are you even listening to me?"
"Can I have a Caramel Macchiato with a slice of Chocolate Cheesecake." He tells the waiter before glancing at me.
"Uh, I'll get some water and a slice of Carrot Cake." I say quickly.
Both the waiter and Wade stare at me, "Water?" He says incredulously then turns to the waiter again. "Get him Tea."
The waiter nods and jots it down. After he leaves, I glare at Wade who grins.
"Now can you tell me why you brought me here?" I ask.
"I just thought we could get to know each other and you could take a break from that bad tempered friend of mine."
I laugh humourlessly. I thought he had something important to discuss with me. "That's all?" I say in exasperation.
"Don't worry. Pan is more capable than you think and no one would try to harm him in his own home when it's broad daylight."
"You're not helping." I say as the waiter returns with our orders.
"You're quite pretty for a man." Wade suddenly says casually.
I blink and try to keep a neutral expression. "So what?"
"Nothing. You're pretty like a girl." He says, stirring his drink.
"Stop it. I'm a man." I say sharply. He can't find out either.
I stab the carrot cake and take a bite. It's delicious. I smile as I eat more. How long has it been since I had cake?
"Is there something on my face?" I ask when I glance up and catch Wade's eyes on me.
"You look so happy. Is the cake that delicious?" He leans across and takes some of my carrot cake with his fork.
"Hey! That's mine!" I exclaim as he eats it.
"It's really good." He smiles innocently.
"You!" I lunge forward and manage to take a bit of his chocolate cheesecake.
He smirks as I eat.
"What?" I say angrily.
Wade gestures to the side of his mouth, "You have chocolate on your face."
I wipe at it but he shakes his head.
"I'll do it." Leaning across, he takes a napkin from the middle of the table and wipes at my mouth.
My face heats up in embarrassment as he pulls back, "Thank you."
"You should thank me properly for yesterday." He grins.
"I already said thank you." I say. To be honest, without Wade, I wouldn't have been able to bring Pan back home.
"That doesn't count. Next meal is on you."
"Wade! You're saying I have to spend more time with you? No thanks." He is already annoying me as it is and it hasn't even been 24 hours since we met.
Standing up, I walk out of the cafe. This man is worse than Panda. No wonder they are friends.
"Hey, wait for me Tin!" He calls after me but I ignore him and continue walking.
***
"Where did you go?" Panda King asks once I am back at the mansion.
"Nowhere." I say and flop myself onto the sofa.
"Hey Tin, why did you ignore me?! I know you heard me call you..." Wade's loud voice travels to me from the front door.
Pan stares at me in puzzlement, "You went with Wade?"
"Yeah." I mutter, "I know why you two are friends now."
"Tin!" Wade walks towards me and sits down. Why is he next to me again?
"I don't really intend to be friends with you." I say bluntly to the silver haired man.
"Why not?" He pouts and pinches my cheeks.
"Owletmego!" I mumble as he moves my face whilst holding my cheeks.
"You two get along well." Pan says, watching us with a strange expression.
"Noheisbullyingme!" I protest as Wade continues playing with my cheeks. I'll probably get bruises on my face if he keeps doing this.
"I wouldn't mind using him as my bodyguard." Wade says, laughing at my face.
Pan's face turns dark, "No, he's my bodyguard and has to protect me at all times!" He abruptly turns and leaves.
Confused, Wade and I glance at each other. Why did he suddenly get angry?
