Chapter 6 - Teams

It has been about two weeks now since that night. That's also something I won't forget. The start of something real; something true. My first genuine friendship.

"Hey," I heard while someone was standing in the doorway of my room. It was Violet, she was holding a bowl of different types of cheese crackers and pretzels. She began to walk toward me and climbed up to sit on my bed beside me. "Do you feel better from last night?" she continued.

"Do you feel better?" I said.

"Yeah, I suppose." she said while looking down.

"Uhm.. Do you want some crackers?" She said while looking up at me now, showing me the bowl.

"Nah, I'm good… I do have a question however,"

"Okay… What is it?.."

"Now that we finished the strength closet, what do you think they want with us now?"

"I-I actually haven't thought about that, I don't know. It's kind of strange."

"What do you mean?"

"Like all of this, what did they do this for? Yes, we have special abilities and all, but what could be the purpose of this whole charade besides that?"

She made a point I thought. If we already finished the "Strength Closet" what more could they want? It was strange.

"Anyway," she continued. "Besides that, I have something I want to share with you.. It's also something else that I have never shared with anyone before. I want you to take a look at it. You can keep it for as long as you want, but please make sure no one else gets a hold of it…!"

"S-sure. Uh.. What is it?"

She reaches behind her and pulls out a book. Where the hell did that come from, I thought.

"Here." She hands me the book. "This is my diary, you still seemed a little curious so if I didn't explain it well enough, you can read it first hand."

"Wow…" I was at a loss for words. "A-.. Are you sure about this?"

"Actually, I'm more sure about this than anything else in my life." She says, looking me dead in the eye with a faint smile. "Well I have to go, they said they wanted to meet with my roommates and I at twelve and It's already eleven fourty nine, so I better get going."

I nod my head as she walks out, closing the door behind her. I looked down at the diary. I can't believe she's actually letting me read this. I mean, it's so personal, and risky. I lie down on my bed staring at the ceiling. I raised her diary in view and opened up to the first page.

It read- "Dear diary, how corny. Today is Nov 7th 3025.

Today is my 7th birthday. What a coincidence. My mother wasn't able to get me much this year because of my father, but I'm still grateful. I just started the first grade four months ago. My mom says I'm really smart because I know how to talk and write properly and I just got out of kindergarten. I have made three really good friends so far. They are amazing. Not as smart as me though, y'know. Haha, just kidding! Anyways, today was a good day!

-Love Violet."

Huh, so that was her first ever entry. Interesting, I thought, before my thoughts were interrupted.

"Hey! They want to meet with us next!" Akira says while barging in. I quickly shove the diary under my pillow and made it look like I was in the process of making my bed as a quick cover up.

"H-hey! Yeah, okay! I'll be right there! Heh heh…" She walks back out.

That was a close call. I climb down and go to the cafeteria. I sit at a table with Akira.

"Do you have any idea about what's happening?"

"Actually, no, I don't. We do have to come back later though. Everyone."

The men who brought us here begin to walk in.

"Right now we are just going to give you a number, when everyone comes back later we will explain what those numbers mean. We will also explain how those numbers are going to be more important later."

"Lia you are two, Myiah you are three, Lucious you are two, Cleous you are two, Akira you are one, Idyllic you are one, Nino you are three, and Kleo you are three. Those numbers are your teams, don't you forget. We will explain more later. That's all for now. You are free to go on about your day.
