Chapter 3 - The Last Person She Expected

"Behold my masterpiece." Leo had a confident smile.

"Ummm are sure you're still going to be friends after this?"

"Yup. He did the same thing to me last week. He won't be that mad for now." Leo placed the markers back where he found them.

"Okay." Kellian smiled nervously.

"What class do you have next?" Leo asked.

"English. Why?"

"Let's go together." He smiled.

"Okay?"

"Grab your things."

"Why?"

"You'll see." He said with a smirk.

Kellian did as she was told. Once she was beside him Leo grabbed a book and hit Ryder.

"What the hell!?" Ryder yelled angrily.

Kellian struggled to hold in her laughter but she immediately shut up when Ryder glared at her.

"Wait before you do anything take a look at yourself." Leo slowly inched away.

Ryder took out his phone and opened the camera app. He then switched to selfie mode. His eyes widened in shock. The *click* of a camera was heard as Leo took a picture of Ryder's shocked face.

Ryder's lips curled up into a smile. The smile gave off cold and murderous intent. Before Ryder could do anything Leo grabbed Kellian and booked it. They ran all the way to English class.

As soon as he realized he was still holding Kellian's had he withdrew his hand immediately. He looked at his hand and back to Kellian repeatedly with a confused look on his face.

"Are you okay?"

Leo shook his head then replied, "It's nothing."

"Okay. I thought you said he wouldn't be mad! He looked like he was going to kill us."

"Nah that's just his face."

"Just his face!?"

"I felt mad rage and murderous intent radiating off his every being."

"Mhmm. You're pretty observant."

"I'm pretty sure an idiot could tell he was mad."

"Sigh. I know. I just didn't expect you to know something like that."

"Are you calling me dumb?" Kellian was offended.

"No. It's just that you're... Nevermind."

"It's fine. I understand. You think I'm stupid." Kellian pouted.

"I do not." He said firmly shocking Kellian.

"Ummm... Then... What did you mean?"

"It's not important. Just pretend I never said anything."

"Alright."

Leo pushed open the doors and went to his seat. Kellian sat beside him since she didn't know anyone else.

"Ryder will probably be back to his aloof self by lunch when he cools down."

"Okay."

"You still haven't given me your answer."

"Huh?"

"About being friends with me and my friends."

"Oh. Ummm... Can people really become friends that quickly? And is it just me or did you say, friends?" She made emphasis on the s.

"I think so. It's kinda like love at first. People can naturally be attracted to people and usually, you wouldn't want to let that person go without trying to be friends with them. I was naturally attracted to you." He explained smiling.

"I see. But—"

"Please just consider it!"

"Okay."

"Yay! I'm sure Dexter will be happy too."

"Dexter?"

"Oh, he's my other friend. Or should I say our friend?" He winked.

"Not yet."

"Right I'm sorry. I'm just really excited to finally have a g– I mean– someone new in our group."

"Huh?"

"Nothing. It was just a mistake."

"Okay."

"Are you sure Ryder won't be mad?"

"I am. Like I said he did the same thing to me last week. And unlike me, he posted on Dexter's social media because I wasn't mad enough."

"Oh. That's mean."

"Yeah And besides. I've done things to make him angrier before."

"Why?"

"Because he made me mad first."

"Really. I can't really imagine someone like him pranking someone for fun."

"You're right. He doesn't do it for fun he just likes seeing me upset."

"Doesn't sound like a good friendship to me."

"No, we are really good friends. I guess he acts like that because everyone else is too scared of him to get mad so he enjoys feeling normal."

"Oh but why only you?"

"Dexter is okay with anything Ryder does, as a loyal servant. I don't know why. Plus we're Ryder's only friends so he has no one else to treat him like I do. It's fine. He doesn't do it often cause he's like an iceberg that rarely shows emotions. But you don't seem that scared of him either."

"Should I be?"

"Well, I guess you wouldn't know. He's the alpha of this school."

"Oh... uhhh... I–"

"I know why you don't know. Ryder does too. Most of the student body has no clue though so you should be safe. Only powerful wolves will able to tell. Also, that's what I meant earlier. You guys are usually pretty oblivious."

"Then why do you want to be my friend?"

"Because you're cute."

"Huh?"

"Kidding. I never get to joke like that so it was fun to try for once."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't worry about it. I want to be your friend because I was attracted to you I don't really care if you're wolf, vampire, dragon, human, fairy or demon. I like you so I'll try my best to be your friend."

"I see. Well that's a first."

"Hmmm?"

"Nevermind."

"Okay."

And like that they spent English class leisurely chatting while doing the work assigned.

Sadly Kellian and Leo didn't have the next class together. This teacher also realized she was new and asked her to introduce herself. She did and everyone was just staring at her some even glaring. She was confused but managed to ignore them.

The bell rang and Kellian began skipping to the cafeteria.

'Finally! Lunch time. My new favourite subject. I can't wait to stuff my face with junk food and sweets.'

She then realized she had no clue where it was and began following a random girl. The girl luckily led Kellian to the cafeteria without even knowing she did.

Kellian skipped her away to the line. And tried her best to decide what to get from the extensive menu.

When it was her turn to order she had finally decided, "May I, please, have a slice of cheese pizza, french fries, a cheeseburger, a chocolate milkshake with extra whipped cream, a Hershey's chocolate bar and a slice of black forest cake."

The lunch lady laughed looked Kellian dead in the eyes and said, "No. You take slop. Only have slop. Every thing else done."

It was obvious English wasn't her first language Kellian wasn't going to get anywhere by being upset so she said calmly, "I do not want slop. I can see everything I ordered behind you."

"Look. Pretty girl I no lie. There no food. Just slop."

"But–"

"You holding up line. Take slop and leave."

Kellian knew this lady was determined to not give her anything but slop and gave up.

"Fine. I'll take the slop."

"$500 equal slop. Give."

"$500!" Kellian exclaimed.

"Just give slop money and enjoy." She said glaring daggers at Kellian like how Kaila does.

Kellian gave up and felt her pockets. There was no money. Kaila never gave her any. How was she going to get out of this situation?

"You lady give me the money for the slop and leave! Young people these these days feeling like they own the place just cause they're pretty! Do you have the money or not!?" She yelled in almost perfect English all of a sudden. She still had her accent.

Kellian realized what was going on, ' Did she just speak English properly? And is this lady trying to embarrass me because she thinks I'm pretty!? At least she doesn't know I'm human but I'm about to be an outcast because of this what do I do everyone is staring!!!'

"Hagatha. Give her what she ordered. She's with me."

A long slender arm stretched out and handed the lunch lady a black card.

'Is that the legendary most elite credit card? Who in the world is using that to pay for my lunch!?'

Kellian turned her head to figure out who was the rich person spending money on her. And to her surprise it was the last person she expected.
