I heard knocking at my door, but I was too exhausted to acknowledge it.
"Anne, sweetheart, your dad wants t-. Oh. My. God."
My eyes shoot open and I see my aunt Petra standing at my bedroom door. I look down at the other side of my bed to see a peacefully sleeping Alaric.
"PETRA, WHAT ARE YOU DOING," I squeak out in a high pitched tone.
"WHAT AM I DOING? WHAT ARE YOU DOING," she says motioning between Alaric and I. I feel Alaric start to move beside me and we pause in horror as we watch Alaric wake up.
"What's going on," he asks me, not yet seeing my aunt in my room. When he finally sees her, he freezes in horror.
"WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE? GET OUT," Petra shrieks, but not in a mad tone, but a surprised tone.
"I don't h-have any." Alaric motions to himself and Petra turns around and closes her eyes. Alaric gets up and rushes to put his clothes on, his cheeks on fire the whole time. It was hard not to laugh when I saw the nail marks I left on his back. Before he leaves, he kisses my cheek.
"I'll see you later."
Once Petra knows Alaric is gone, she turns back to me. She takes a deep breathe and sits on the bed next to me.
"Was that your first time doing IT," she asks. If it were my dad, I don't think that would have been his first question. My dad would've passed out on sight and then woke up again to beat up Alaric.
"Ummm, no." My schizophrenia always got in the way and being homeschooled never gave me the opportunity, but when I went to bars and clubs, alcohol drowned out my thoughts and I've had a couple of one-night stands.
"Are you his mate, Anne?" Her question catches me off guard. I don't have to think hard about this question because there's an obvious answer.
"No. I think I'd know if I was his mate."
"What happens when he meets his mate then? How are you going to handle it? Don't get too attached to him, Anne. I don't want to see you get hurt."
"Petra, its nothing like that. We're just friends. I'm not in love with Alaric. When he meets his mate we probably won't even be here anymore. Isn't dad looking for a house? How long do you think this mission is going to last anyways? I'm pretty sure he doesn't plan on staying here forever."
"I'll let you speak to your dad about that, but if you guys do stay in New Orleans after the mission, what are you going to do? It sounds like your depending on the fact that you can run away to hide your feelings."
"Then, it'll be fine. Don't worry about it." Petra takes a pause to look at my face to see if I'm actually fine. When she doesn't see anything alarming, she gets up from my bed.
"Alright. Well, your dad is waiting for you downstairs. There's another pack visiting today and he wants you at the meeting. So, start getting ready and make sure you eat something." I give her a nod in understanding and watch her walk out my door.
Shoot, I still don't have anything to wear. I'll have to ask one of the girls this time. I grab my phone and call Chris.
"Haven't seen you in a while. What's up," she says one she answers on the first ring.
"Sorry about that, but do you have something that'll fit me?" On the other side of the call I hear Chris rustling around.
"I'll be right over."
I take a shower, brush my teeth, and fix my hair before Chris gets here.
"Woah! What happened in here?" I watch as Chris walks around my messy room.
"This place reeks of sex," I hear Jaisley say as she walks in with Hanna.
"I only called Chris. Why are you all here?" I take the clothes from Chris and change in the bathroom. They were too colorful for my liking, but I couldn't care to be picky right now. I could barely walk with how sore I am and I'm expected to walk downstairs.
"Obviously we were worried for you because we haven't seen you, but it seems you were having the time of your life," Hanna says, sitting on my bed.
"Who was it," Chris asks. When I don't answer, they all gasp.
"Was it Tarry? How'd you sneak him in," Jaisley asks, interested now.
"No!"
"Girls pin her down. Since she doesn't want to tell us, I'll just find out myself," Chris says smirking. I gasp in surprise as the girls do what Chris says.
"Don't you dare, Chris. I'm warning you." I try to fight against Hanna and Jaisley, but Chris already has her hand on my forehead to read my memories.
Ugh! Why couldn't I be the only witch in the group?
"Ew ew ew! I wish I hadn't done that. How does one even get into that position," Chris shrieks.
"Who was it," the others yell in anticipation.
"Alaric! For someone so quite, I would have never thought. There was way more junk than trunk, that's for sure."
"Shut up, Chris," I tell her, throwing a pillow at her face.
"How was it," Jaisley asks and my cheeks redden without my permission.
"I'm going downstairs now," I tell them and they follow me, teasing me the whole way down.
"How did no one hear you guys," Hanna asks.
"The butterflies blocked out the noise," Chris says, laughing. She must've seen it when she went through my head.
"What are you girls talking about?" I jump in surprise when I hear my dad. Petra was with him, but looked away and acted like she was doing something else when he asked the question. Alaric, Don, Arsenio, and some other guy were downstairs as well.
As much as I want to attack Arsenio when I see him, I know it's too risky in public.
"Oh we're just- ow!" I stepped on Hanna's foot to shut her up.
"Nothing at all. So, what did you want me to come down here for?" Before he can answer my question, the front door opens and three figures walk in. It was an older guy and what I believed were his son and daughter. The son and daughter were probably around our age and their father in his 60's.
They all had platinum, white hair and blue eyes. It was like seeing copies. They were very tall, but not an awkward height.
I'm not sure if they were really wolves or models.
"Gianna," I hear Alaric say in a questioning tone. I watch as the girl sets her gaze on him and smile.
"Alaric!" She runs over to him and throws her arms around his neck. He returns her gesture by wrapping his arms around her waist. When they pull apart, she leans in and kisses his lips.
Umm. WHAT?!
