Chereads / I Made Him an Alpha / Chapter 4 - She Eats Like a Monster

Chapter 4 - She Eats Like a Monster

"Who's she?" I was sat down at the lunch table with Alaric and Don. Don was busy glaring at me, while Alaric was quietly eating his food. The whispered question came from a girl that plopped down next to Don.

His name is too long for me to waste energy saying.

The girl's face was oddly familiar. She had a genuine smile on her face and bouncy, brown curls. Her eyes were a sage green and her skin was pale, like she hadn't been out in the sun for a while.

"She can hear you," Alaric whispers back to her.

she turns to me and blushes.

"Sorry." She had a strong Russian accent that was hard to miss.

"I'm Anne Micheal," I tell her, answering her question. She paused for a while, thinking.

"Wait. Anne," she asks me.

"Yeah," I answer, a little confused.

"Its me. Chris," she says, smiling. I just looked at her confused, but then it clicks in my head.

"Oh my god. I didn't recognize you at all. Its been awhile since I've seen you. Your never here when we come to visit. When did you get an accent," I ask her.

Chris was my cousin. Her mom was my dad's sister. I haven't seen her since I was like, nine. Chris and her mom travelled a lot, so whenever we visited, they were never in town.

"I like to try out different accents occasionally. Today is Russian. My mom is going to freak out when she finds out your dad is here. Part of the reason she travels when you guys visit is so that she doesn't run into your dad. In her words, not mine "I don't want to see his annoying face." She mocks her mom's voice and makes an annoyed expression.

"That's sibling love," I tell her and we laugh.

"Chris, I guess your mom's long game of hide and go seek has come to an end." I hear another girl say, taking a seat next to me. She really started digging into the wings that were being served for lunch today. Her messy, black hair framed her face while she ravaged her food.

"Ew! You're disgusting, Hanna and didn't anyone teach you not to eavesdrop with those big ass wolf ears of yours," Chris says, gagging. The way the girl was eating probably couldn't even be classified as eating. More like inhaling her food.

"Let me properly introduce you to everyone," Alaric whispered from next to me. The others were getting involved in their own conversation.

"That's Don, who you met earlier and the girl, Chris, who I guess is your cousin, is his mate. The foodie on the other side of you is Hanna. As long as you ignore Don's daily anger, zone out when Chris starts her ranting, and try not to gag when Hanna is eating like an animal, you'll be fine."

"I can see what you mean," I tell him, looking over at how Hanna was basically giving herself a facial with the way she was digging her face into the spicy wing sauce.

"Anne," I heard my name being called from the other side of the table. I looked over to see that it was Don.

"Yes," I answer suspiciously.

"I'm s-soo-sorr- oww," he gets interrupted. He was trying to tell me something, but it seemed hard to get out. He kept stuttering until Chris hit him on the head.

"I'm sorry for earlier. I was being a jerk," he rushes out.

"Now, was that so hard, Donaghy," Chris asks him, pecking him on the cheek. He just lowers his head to cover his blush.

He's so whipped.

"Don is so whipped cream," Hanna says out loud what I was thinking.

"Shut up, Hanna. You know what? I'm going to class. Maybe I'll find JAISLEY on the way there and tell her your eating like a pig again." Don started getting up from his seat with a smirk and Hanna actually looked scared.

"Don't. You. Dare. Don. I. Swear. I. Will. Murder. You." Don slowly backed away from the table until Hanna got up and started chasing him out of the cafeteria.

"Who's Jaisley," I ask the remaining two.

"Hanna's mate," they say with visible shivers.

"Now that's one vampire you don't want to mess with," Chris says, looking into the distance, probably remembering something.

"Why do you guys seem scared of her?"

"Because she is scary," Alaric answers me.

"Why would Hanna be scared of her mate," I ask them, even more confused.

"I thought Don was over protective, but compared to that girl...." Chris looked traumatized.

"Let's head to class," Alaric switches the topic.

While I was in my next class, which was gym, I was sitting on the bleachers, minding my business and just played some games on my phone because I didn't know anyone in this class. Hanna walks in, looking flushed and walking funny. The teacher ignored her and she came over to where I was.

"Hey, you ok," I ask her.

"Um, y-yeah," she answers. Her face starts to turn red and I notice the purplish, red marks scattered around her neck. Her shirt was also inside out.

I guess that answers my question.

"Your shirt," I told her, motioning to it, so she could see it was on backwards. She slapped her forehead and asked me to go with her to the girls locker room. Once we're inside, she starts to fix her clothes.

"So, how did you meet your mate," I ask her. I could see the relief on her face when I didn't ask about the hickeys.

"At the time, Jaisley didn't even go to school here. I was out one day at a club with the crew and we spotted each other. She was really flirty and she told me that she just moved here. She had this devilish grin and twinkling eyes that spelled trouble, but I couldn't keep away from her." While she was describing her mate, her smile grew.

"The crew seems to be really afraid of her."

"Like I said. Her devilish grin spells trouble. You can say she's much of a daredevil. Loves to give people heart attacks. Maybe you'll find out soon what I mean. What are you doing after school?"

"I don't have anything planned. Why?"

"Chris and I usually go to a cafe nearby after school. Don and Hanna can never seem to find us when we're there, so we go there to hide from them for a while. They can get really clingy once we're out of school. Do you want to come?"

"Yeah. I'll just tell my dad not to pick me up after school."

After we settle that, we go back in the gym for the rest of the class period. My last class of the day went by fast and sooner than later, my first day of school was over. Chris and Hanna made me sneak through the back doors of the school, so their mates wouldn't see them.

"Don's gonna be pissed." Chris starts cackling at the pain shes putting her mate through. By time we sat down in the cafe, Chris and Hanna already had over 20 missed calls.

"You guys must have a death wish," I tell them and all they do it laugh.

"Ok, let's get started." I see them both cover their eyes with their hands and land their finger somewhere on the menu.

"What are you guys doing?"

"This is how we pick what to get. We won't uncover our eyes until you do it too," Hanna answers me. This actually made me nervous. I was really picky when it came to choosing what to eat. Leaving it up to fate to choose my food sounded horrendous, but I did it anyway.

I covered my eyes and let my finger fall on the menu.

"3, 2, 1. Alright, let's check." We all uncover our eyes and I looked down at what my finger landed on.

"I got steak frites and homemade fries," I tell them. Hanna looked happy with what she got, while Chris looked depressed.

"I got a salad," Chris says, explaining her depression.

"I got a loaded burger. Hmm the best." I could almost see the drool dripping from her mouth.

"How come you always get what you want," Chris asks Hanna, pouting.

"It's all about technique." The hidden meaning behind Hanna's words meant that she took a peak before letting her finger choose for her.

"That's not fair. Then that means I get to switch my salad for something else."

"We always do this because you don't pick your food fast enough. I'm just gonna pick something for you. If not, then we'll be here all day." Hanna started to whine.

Before Chris could answer, Hanna tells the waiter what we're all eating. All Chris could do was glare at Hanna.

"So, Anne. Why did your dad move you guys back over here," Chris asks.

"My dad was called to help out with the killings that were happening. I don't think they've been able to figure out anything yet."

"Yeah. One of the younger pack members found a dead witch last week and they just keep happening. We don't know if it was a witch, vampire, or werewolf because they've been killing all groups."

"I heard someone say it's a vengeful ghost that was angered with our creation," Hanna says. Chris and I say nothing. We just look at her.

"What? That's what I heard," she tries to defend herself.

"Anyways. Alpha has been trying to keep the pups inside, to stay out of trouble," Chris informs me.

"Aren't you a witch," I ask Chris. Chris was talking as if she had an alpha, but she was born a witch. I know that because we're related. Only wolves have alphas.

"Because I'm Don's mate, I'm kind of under the same rules. I'm not a wolf, but my mate is, so I need to know all the rules too."

Our food finally arrived and we continued talking while eating. Turned out Hanna chose the right dish for Chris.

"We've reached a new record," Hanna says, checking her phone. She turns the phone screen to me and I see about 300 hundred missed calls from the same number.

"We better go before she starts burning down stores again,"Chris says. I thought she was joking, but then I saw the seriousness on her face.

"Oh, shit. We better go."

We left the cafe, but also taking our time to walk back to school where they parked their cars.

While we were walking, we heard a scream coming from an alley. We all gave each other a worried look and went to go check it out.

When we got there, we saw a wolf about to attack a middle aged woman. It spiked a memory in my head and all I could see was red. I no longer had control of my body and I couldn't hear or see anything.

All I could see was my mom and blood pouring out of her mouth.

A second later I felt a weight jump on top of me and it woke me up.

"What the hell are you doing, Anne." I blinked my eyes a couple of times before it could adjust. Hanna had me pinned to the ground, but once she saw that I was back, she allowed me to get up.

I looked down at my shaky hands and saw blood. There was a bloody wolf on the ground next to me. The knife I carried to school today was sticking out of them.

"What happened? What did I do," I ask them. Chris was busy helping the wolf and Hanna just looked at me with terror.
