"Anne, wake up." Someone was shaking my arm violently once again and I had to ask myself if people liked to wake me up in a panic.
"Whhhaaaa," I groan out.
"If you don't want to starve for the whole day, I suggest wake up now before everyone smells the food and goes down stairs."
I look up at Hanna's figure and groan.
"Is she going to come or what? We don't have all day," I heard another voice say by my door. It was another girl, but I didn't know her.
"Don't be rude, Jaisley. Anne is just tired."
Hmmmmm, Jaisley. Name sounds familiar.
Jaisley.
Jaaaaaisley?
Ohhhhhh, Jaisley. Hanna's mate.
"Fine, I'm coming." I get up from the bed and walk to the bathroom, brushing my teeth. I take a shower and put on a hoodie and some sweatpants.
When I got back, Jaisley was gone, but Hanna was sitting on my bed.
"Where did Jaisley go?"
"You were taking too long for her. She went down stairs to save us food." Hanna grabs my arm and drags me down stairs. There were probably about thirty other supernatural beings downstairs, scarfing down food. I see now why she was trying to get me up early.
Kids were running around, making a mess. There were some teens in the corner making out. I'm guessing they were mates.
Ewwww, get a room!
I could see Jaisley, although being a vampire, was growling at people to get away from the pile of food she was saving. The differences between Hanna and her mate were obvious.
Although Hanna's black hair always seemed to be messy, Jaisley's hair was blond and you can tell she puts time into keeping it neat. There was also the fact that already before speaking a word to her, you'd know that Jaisley didn't hold back on what she had to say and spoke her mind, while Hanna sugarcoated the things she said out of niceness.
In a way, they were each others Yin and Yang.
We walked over to Jaisley and relieved her of her guarding duties.
"Thanks," I tell Jaisley.
"It wasn't really for you," she tells me.
"Babe, be nice."
"Will it earn me an award for later?" This made Hanna blush. She didn't say anything, but I could tell what they would be doing tonight by their eye signals. Jaisley turns back to me with a smile.
"So, I hear your moving into the pack house and all of your belongs got burned. Do you want to go shopping later for some clothes," Jaisley asks me with a sweet voice. Despite her sweet voice, her icy gray eyes were grilling into me.
I guess she really wanted that award.
"Yeah. We can do that. I can ask Chris if she wants to come too," Hanna says, hoping to convince me.
"Ask me to go where," I hear Chris ask, sitting down next to me. Don followed behind her and sat down.
"You wanna go shopping in a little bit? I have to replace my clothes that are now a pile of ashes."
"Sure thing. I love shopping,"Chris squeeks out.
"I thought we were spending time together today," Don tells Chris all pouty.
"I can spend time with you later," Chris tells him, causing Don to glare at me.
"It's not my fault my house burned down," I defend and he just rolls his eyes.
"Alaric's coming," Jaisley says. I looked around, but couldn't see him.
"How can you tell? I can't even see him," I ask her.
"Well, you can always tell Alaric's coming when the sea of people start to leave. They act like they can't breathe the same air as him," she says, rolling her eyes.
It was true. They were all leaving to go anywhere else. They looked mad. I could see Alaric walking in, looking tired.
"What's up with all the hate he gets," I ask the group, but they just all stay quite.
Alaric heads over to the stove and starts making some breakfast for himself, I guess knowing that there was no more breakfast left. I could tell he was falling asleep while cooking. His head full of messy hair kept falling forward.
I got up from my seat to go help him, shaking his shoulder to wake him up.
"Go sit down. I'll make you breakfast." He didn't even have the strength to answer back. He just went to my seat and laid his head on the table.
I made him some well seasoned scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes. It didn't take me long because I was good at multitasking. The others went upstairs to get ready to go shopping, while Alaric was basically taking a nap on the table.
"Alaric," I whispered in his ear, but he didn't budge. I did it a couple of more times, but it didn't work.
"ALARIC," I shriek into his ears. That definitely woke him up. He had the expression of an angry puppy, but it was too cute to take serious. I hand him his food and sit next to him.
"Thank you," he tells me, stuffing his face.
"I should be the one thanking you." He gave me a confused face, but I know what he did.
"I'm sorry for overreacting yesterday and I should probably apologize to your alpha as well. Thank you for finding my mom's knife collection."
"It was no problem at all. Staying up all night to find it was worth helping out a friends." He gave me a soft smile and I returned one.
"I'm gonna go get ready. Did you want to go to the mall with us?"
"Actually, my son will be very busy today." I turned around to the familiar voice and saw the alpha.
Wait a damn minute.
