"We tried asking her, but she wouldn't tell us what happened. She just stayed quite the whole ride here."
"What happened with the wolf?"
"I was able to help him, but she really did damage to him."
I could hear my dad, Hanna, and Chris talking in the kitchen, but I couldn't say anything.
I just sat on the couch and looked far into the distance. I wasn't thinking. My mind was just blank.
"You girls can go home. I'll try to see what's going on. We'll probably visit soon, so don't tell your mom I'm here yet. I don't need her trying to run away again."
My dad walks the girls out and comes into the living room. He took a seat next to me.
"Is it happening again, princess?" I turned to look at him and nodded. He took a deep breathe and lowered his head into his hands.
"You stopped taking your pills, didn't you? Are you seeing things again?"
"No, dad. I'm not seeing things. I'm better now. I swear." He looked deep into my eyes and didn't seem to believe me.
"Then what happened today?"
"I was just protecting the human. The werewolf would have killed her. Yes, I may have blanked out, but that's probably because of the adrenaline rush." It sounded a little unbelievable to my ears too.
"Anne you know this is serious. Maybe you should start taking your medication again." I knew my dad was serious when he used my real name.
"Dad, you know how they make me feel. I don't like taking them. Please don't make me take them. Please." At this point I just started speaking fast and repeating the same thing. I could even feel tears spilling out of my eyes. I started hyperventilating and I struggled for air.
"Ok, calm down, Anne. It's ok. I won't force you, but if this happens again, your going to have to take them." My dad pulled me into a hug to stop me from crying. "Just breathe."
"Princess, wake up." Someone was shaking my shoulders. My eyes shot open and I realized I was sleeping on the coach.
I don't even remember falling asleep.
"Yes," I answer my dad. He was standing over me and I made a move to sit up. That's when I realized the house was filled with smoke. "What's going on?"
"Shit. I don't know. The house is on fire. We have to go." He grabbed my arm and started running for the front door, but it was blocked with flames.
"This can't be an accident. Someone started this fire," he explained, rerouting himself towards the back door, but it was also burning in fumes.
"Fuck. Ok, check those windows. I'll check the one's over here."
"Can't we just put it out with a spell," I ask him. It should be pretty easy.
"I tried that already, There's a strong witch behind this. We just have to hope they missed a window or we'll try to break one open."
We ran to different sides of the house, trying to find an unlocked window, but there were none. The smoke was burning my eyes, nose, and throat. I could hear my dad start coughing in the other room and I go to check on him.
He was passed out on the ground from the suffocating smoke. I crouched down next to him, trying to wake him up, but when I don't succeed, I decide to try breaking the window, so I can get him some help.
First I start with banging my fists on the window, but it doesn't work, so I start picking up heavy objects and throwing it at the windows.
My body starts to weaken and my lungs stop working. I left my body lose balance and fall towards the floor. The last thing I saw was my face connecting to the ground and then black.
