Chapter 12 - Awakening

As the electricity merged with Aster, his body lost it's fleshy form, becoming a bright being of electricity in the shape of a humanoid; a sinister and comical smile emerging onto his face. The lights in The Harbor began wavering.

"What! He became—electricity itself!" The demon perceived, backing away slowly. In an instant, Aster spun diagonally, unleashing a waving spiral of electricity onto the demon. As it collided with the demon, his large green arms and legs violently spasmed as he erupted in a liquid mass, covering the nearby walls and ground in a purple water. A midnight weapon dropped, it was a knife adorned with bones and small skulls. The electricity began leaving and Aster turned back to his normal form.

"This is—the full potential—of Conduit. I'm sorry—Paisley and Yarrow," Aster mumbled before collapsing onto the metallic ground.

Far from the generator room, Yarrow leaned onto Paisley, holding a bleeding wound.

"Come on Yarrow, we just need to find you a first aid kit!" Paisley said, lending him her shoulder. Suddenly, a demon flashed into view right in front of Paisley and Yarrow. It had slim shoulders, with eyes that painted the scene of a dark violet galaxy.

"A demon! It appeared from thin air!" Before the demon could do anything, heat waves began emanating from it's body, and it melted into a puddle of boiling water instantly.

"You're Class D, aren't you?" A figure asked, who had been standing behind the demon. He had piercing amber eyes and his long, straight, brown hair flowed freely under his black shovel hat. "I'm going to frank, what the hell are you two dumbasses doing out here? You don't even have weapons! Go to your dorm, and don't get yourselves killed on your way!" His Voice was casual yet demanding, and never got too high or low pitched.

"But he needs first aid!" Paisley alerted, looking at Yarrow as he weakly hung onto her shoulder.

Letting out a long sigh, the guy stated, "he needs more than first aid, come here, I can at least close his wounds so he won't bleed out. It's unsafe to be out here." He opened a nearby door, which led to an empty room, except for a table in the middle. "Come on, we'll be safer in here." He lifted up Yarrow's shirt and pulled out a small container of antibiotic cream, a needle, a stitch and thread, along with a pocket sized roll of bandages.

"Not that I'm complaining, but why do you have those?" Paisley questioned, pointing at the medical items in his hands.

"I got cut once while in the woods, had it cauterize it with my Midnight Weapon's ability, it never healed properly," the guy stated, revealing a large jagged scar on his left arm. "Ever since that day, I've always kept stuff needed to stitch a cut, just in case." Yarrow groaned as the needle entered and exited his skin, eventually tying Yarrow's stomach wound close.

After hearing loud blasts outside back in the foyer, the guy said, "change of plans, you two stay right here, tell each other stories or something."

"Okay—wait! What's your name?" Paisley asked, watching him near the door.

"We'll probably never speak again but—Wayne," he declared as he exited back into the battlefield.
