"Next on our tour is the store," Yarrow informed, pointing it out with his hands. The fluorescent lights advertised various items and the times that they were open. Aster and Yarrow walked in to see rows of various fruits and dried meats. The cashier was a Class C, who looked very bored as really bored as she rested her head in her hands. "This is the grocery section, but there's some electronics and clothes over there, oh and there's a catalog that you can order stuff at the register." Aster picked up an apple and inspected it, his other hands running through his pocket, looking for spare change. "You short on cash?
"Yeah, cleaning the bathrooms doesn't pay a lot," Aster stated, putting the apple back. Yarrow grabbed two apples and put them by the register.
"That's two dollars and fifty cents," the cashier said, typing the number into the register. Yarrow pulled out a coin purse that was embroidered with pictures of saxophones. He pulled out five silver colored coins and handed them to the cashier, each of the coins had a anchor design marked into them.
"Here," Yarrow said, handing Aster one of his apples.
"What?" Aster's eyes widened. "Are you sure?"
Yarrow nodded and confirmed, "yeah man, take this as a—uh—sign of our new friendship!"
"Really? You mean it?" Aster said, a slight gleam in his eyes manifested.
"I'm serious dude, eat it before it gets bad," Yarrow said, an honest smirk spread across his face. After their small meal, the duo walked out of the store
"And that's all of the Harbor," Yarrow stated, "what do you think?"
"It's very big," Aster curtly said.
Beginning to walk down towards the elevator, Yarrow informed, "well I have to go get ready to mop the floors of the lobby, see you later."
Aster looked over and remarked, "oh, see you later, thanks for the tour, and apple."
"Don't mention it," Yarrow said, disappearing into the elevator. Aster rustled through his pocket, counting the loose change in them.
He thought, "It's been a week since I've been here, and I only have fifty cents."
Interrupting his thoughts, a voice called out, "Aster Sace?"
Turning over, Aster scowled and said, "oh, it's you."
"Yes, it's me," Lovett conformed.
"What do you want?" He stringed, his eyes stabbing hers with animosity.
Staring down, Lovett stated, "I need to talk to you."
"Why should I talk to you?" He questioned.
"Just trust me," Lovett stated. She lead him to the elevator and pressed an unmarked button. "I can tell you hate me, but hear me out."
The door opened, and revealed a hallway lined with paintings of various individuals.
"What's this?" He asked, still retaining his aggressive and unfriendly tone. Staring around, he thought, "now that I think about it, Yarrow didn't show me this area."
"This is the hall of legends, an area where all members of the Harbor can appreciate the legends of yesterday." Looking down the hallway, people of all kinds sprawled across the walls, one painting specifically caught his eye.
His eyes widened as he noticed who the painting was, "That ruby colored hair, and emerald green eye—my mother!" Returning his worried scowl, Aster questioned, "why have you brought me here?"
"I look at this hallway often, and I always notice new details in the paintings every time," Lovett said. Pointing at the painting of Aster's mother, Lovett stated, "this one's my favorite."
Keeping his composure, Aster considered, "I can't let her find out that's my mother! If the secret gets out, everyone will look down on me for my lack of connection to her blade, it'll tarnish her name!"
"Frieda Bell," Lovett remarked, "we were good friends, you know."
Aster's eyes widened as he asked, "what do you mean? Why are—you telling me this, it has nothing to do with me."
"It has a lot to do with you, after all, you're Aster Bell, aren't you?" Lovett insisted. Aster didn't respond. "We met in the lobby, around your age. She was a natural prodigy with her weapon, I was assigned Class D; much like you. However, she pushed me to train and train, and I began building a connection slowly with my weapon." From her white coat, she pulled out a small pistol, constructed out of bright blue gemstones. "This is my midnight weapon, it gave me the broad power of gemstones." Bending over and looking at Aster's face, Lovett said, "It was your eyes, when I saw them, I knew you were connected with Frieda. Also, just because her blade is blue now instead of yellow doesn't mean I can't recognize it."
"Why did you bring me here?" He questioned, subtly gritting his teeth.
"I want to pay off my debt to Frieda, I'm going to train you until you form your own connection!"
