It had been 6 months to Asia's engagement and 10 days left to her wedding. Chohan house was abuzz with wedding preparations. Asia's nervousness and excitement were on the next level. She stood in front of her floor-length mirror admiring herself wearing her Sabyasachi bridal dress which had been delivered just now and she couldn't stop herself from trying it on even though she tried it in the studio an hour earlier. It fit perfectly like a globe.
It was a red heavily embellished velvet lehenga, choli and chiffon dupatta. There was a bewitching floral pattern that ran throughout her dress. The red was like clotted blood. Deep red. But not exactly maroon.
Her Polki diamond and her beautiful dress looked amazing on her. She felt like a queen. She didn't want to take off the dress but she had to. Because she had to reach her pre-wedding shoot's location in 3 hours. Her make up artist and hairdresser was to arrive in 15 minutes so she forced herself out of the dress and get into the attire for today's shoot.
It was a beautiful floor floor-length magenta-coloured organza gown which she paired emerald earrings and bracelet. She had decided to wear the classic Guiseppe Zanotti gold snake shoes but since those shoes lifted you six inches above the ground she let the experience for later and her silk sandals for now.
It took less than 15 minutes for her to get dressed so she sat quietly in front of her dressing table starting at her face. Oddly enough, she felt as if she was staring at an alien. Like same body but a different soul in a creepy sort of way.
She got an itch to shatter the glass to pieces which she tried to hold herself from by grinding her teeth and clenching her fists.
The long acrylics that she had gotten especially for her photoshoot were digging up wells of blood in her palms. Her jaw hurt as she bit ground her tongue between her teeth. The taste of iron riddled her mouth and blood from her hands trickled down to the floor making beautiful noises of pitter-patter! Sounding exactly like monsoon rain but instead of water it was of blood! it calmed her senses, the sound felt like music to her ears. So she decided to add more fuel to the bitter patter. She brought her hand to her face and licked off the blood clean! Tasted like strawberry Jelly. She robotically grabbed her half-empty Gucci Guilty perfume bottle and smashed it against the dressing table mirror. She then grabbed one of the shards in her hand and squeezed it as tightly as possible. The pain that she was feeling was not worthy of recognition to her. She wanted to cause herself more pain so she took that very same shard into her mouth and tried to swallow it. The pain and blood loss probably broke her connection from the psychotic actions she was performing and she came to term with the pain that she was feeling. She fell to the floor in a puddle of blood. She felt sticky and unclean. Her blood smelt like rotten fish and the room ceiling looked like a spinners finest ball.
She asked herself as to why she did it? Why did she hurt herself? But there was a seep echoing silence ringing back to her question. She didn't have the physical strength to walk up to her phone that was on her bed 1 foot away let alone the door. At that moment she knew that her wedding would be delayed because there is no way that her throat and hands would heal within 10 days.
Not even in the slightest did the idea that she could die because of the blood loss or maybe the shard can slice up her pharync, larynx or even the aorta, crossed her mind.
As she was slowly losing the remaining connection that was left with sanity. She could see herself spinning on the dance floor wearing her red Sabyasachi dress similar to the blood she was muddled in.
