She continued screaming even after the administration of the drug. The doctors were expecting a quick response so they were very alarmed. The team of doctors decided to disclose her condition to Mrs Chohan.
"Your daughter is not responding to any of the drugs that we have given. Her mental state is something we have never heard of. We believe she is hallucinating. But even if we consider that she is actually hallucinating, theoretically speaking, Risipridonal should've released all her muscle tension and aided in losing her consciousness. However, unfortunately, none of the drugs is working for her. On the other hand, her physical condition is a hundred folds better than what it was before we will be getting her X-Rays done after she gets better."
"What is going to happen to her now?" said Fajar, who was standing beside Mrs Chohan, holding her hand and stroking it. Tears were running down her face she couldn't believe the physical and mental anguish her best friend was in. She was mad at herself for not reaching out to her before.
"Since we believe her episode has been ensued due to certain emotional reasons. She might benefit by being consoled by someone that she loves and listens to."
"I can talk to her," said Fajar, "I'm her best friend."
"Please do not mention her wedding. I think that is the topic that has triggered her reaction."
Fajar raised her eyebrows, thinking silently, where did the topic of her marriage emerge from. She didn't remember talking about marriage with Asia. She didn't say to Mrs Chohan anything even though she wanted to.
Mrs Chohan couldn't manage to utter a single word to the doctor before getting out of the doctors' office and started telling Rani everything, who was waiting outside the office while the doctor had the discussion with them.
Fajar had been calling on Asia's phone for a few days but there was no answer her phone was still not fixed. After waiting a few days she decided to pay a visit to Asia's house since it was very out of character for her to take stay absent from school for so many days. When she reached Asia's place her maid Rani told her that she had slipped in the washroom and was now admitted to the hospital. She had almost snorted imagining Asia fall and crack a hip like she was 90. In her imagination, she thought she probably had gotten an ankle sprain or something so she asked Rani to tell her about the hospital she was in but Rani didn't tell her until she confirmed from Mrs Chohan that if she was allowed to be told Asia's location. Fajar was a tad bit impressed by Rani's professionalism but fairly taken aback by Rani's daunting looks.
But now when she got a vague idea of how bad things actually were her heart started aching for her best friend.
She ran up to Asia, who was still screaming and making a gurgling sound as she screamed, and hugged her. The hug broke a link inside Asia's mind breaking the repetition of the two scenes.
Asia fell down onto the bed slowly and said loosely, "Did you miss me?" and lost consciousness.
Doctors were looking at her vitals which were appearing very weak. It seemed like the doses had finally caught on her. The doctors had given her an initial dose of what was required for her height and weight but since that dose did not work for her they had given her an additional three doses but none of the doses was working. So they brought in the big gun, Risipridonal. Now as her vitals were dropping they knew that the doses could potentially cause her to fall into life long coma.
She was urgently shifted from her room to the ICU because this was not a psychotic fit of screaming that could potentially lead to loss of her voice for a few months. This was a matter of death or life long fall in the vegetative state.
Mrs Chohan was once again told about her Asia's risks but this time she did not listen quietly.
