Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

"Um, yeah. I am." I said, smiling at her. She smiles back, as the man behind her clears his throat. She turns around, as the man smiles at me and Thomas. "Bonnie, don't you think to have the kids should come inside?" The man asks, and the lady, Bonnie, laughed, before moving out of the way.

"I am so sorry, come in!" She says, gesturing inside. Thomas looks at me, and I nod, before following him inside the huge house. Thomas leads me into a cozy living room, gesturing me to sit on the nice couch. "Where are we?' I whisper to him, and he smiles. "My aunts house, she knows, and she's the first person I thought of."

I nod, as he sat next to me, patting my leg. "So Mr. Boyfriend, what are we doing here?" I ask, as his aunt and uncle talked in the other room. He rolls his eyes, before grabbing my hand. "you know I would say shut up, but we should probably talk about this." He says simply, as I lifted his hand, kissing his knuckles.

"Ok, you are probably right. Um, what do you think?" I ask, not really starting this conversation. He shrugs, leaning his head on my shoulder. "You should already know my answer. I did call you my boyfriend five minutes ago, when I texted my Aunt." Thomas supplies, and I nod my head, going back to kissing his knuckles.

"Why can't we be friends with benefits?" I whine as Thomas's head shot up. "Wait really?" He says, his voice going quiet with disbelief. Oops, I regret making that joke. I grab his chin, to make him look back up at me. "Baby, no! That was just one of the many bad jokes I made. I'm just joking with you." I said, smiling at him.

He hugs me forcefully, making me tip over and onto my back. "Ha ha, your to funny." He says, though it was muffled by my tee shirt. I pet his hair, and wave as his Aunt and Uncle walk back into the nice living room. "You killing me Thomas." I say, acting like I can't breathe. He sits back up, and I push myself off my back.

He punches my shoulder, and I laugh, scooting up next to him. "Hey, boys. Do you want anything for dinner? We can get some food?" She supplies and I look at Thomas, before back at her. "Um, I'm not to hungry." I say, as Thomas just nods his head. "Yeah, I'm not really hungry either." He says, shrugging his shoulders.

"Donald, can you go heat up the casserole Angie made for later?" She asks as Donald walked out of the kitchen. She looked back at me, her sympathetic smile also coming back. "I heard what happened, sweet pea. You okay?" She asks, as I uncomfortably combed my hands through my hair.

"I, um, yeah. I'm okay, she will calm down. Hopefully." I say, muttering the last part to myself, but Thomas must have heard, since he looked at me warily. "She will, she will." Bonnie said, as Thomas looked down at the ground.

"Thomas, can you go help Donald while I talk to him?" She asks, as Thomas warily nodded his head, standing up and walking into what I think is the kitchen. She looked up at me, as she walked over to a chair, opposite of me. "Thomas needed a place to stay a couple of months ago. Needed someone to talk to." She explained, her legs crossing absentmindedly.

"He told us about him being gay, and he was supposed to stay at his boy's school, at least until he was eighteen. But we persuaded his parents to make him come back. So he could be close to us if something happened. Lola and Tony, his parents by the way, was never really accepting about those type of things." She says, as I nod my head along, listening to everything.

I think I know where this is going. "And we want to give you that option, just in case it doesn't work out with your Mom. I know, it's not the best thing to talk about, but I don't want you on the streets, or anything like you." She says, and I nod, understanding where she's coming from.

"I understand, thank you." I say, smiling at her. My mom's going to be fine. She won't kick me out for good. "I mean, she did seem pretty mad, plus she did compare you to June, that seems pretty bad."~ But, Ma wouldn't do that for good. "You never know."~

"Park? Are you ok, sweetie?" Bonnie asks, as I look back at her, my smile never wavering. "I- I'm sorry, I just spaced out for a second." I say, as she looked at me, worried. I smiled at her, as my phone buzzed. I quickly take it out, and look at the text. It's from Ma.

Hi, I'm sorry about what I said earlier. I was just in shock. Do I need to pick you up?

I sigh, turning off my phone, before focusing back on Bonnie. "Was that your Ma?" She asks, as I shake my head. "No, just my friend. It's fine. I'm fine." I say, smiling back at her. I can't talk to her right now. "Do you think your going to stay here for the night?" Bonnie asks, as I nod my head.

"Yeah, I should probably give my Ma time alone." I say, before quickly adding, "If that's ok with you guys. I can go home if you want me to." I say, as she laughs at my expression. I probably look like an idiot. "You can definitely stay, for as long at it takes." She says, before standing, she walks over to me, and sit back down.

"I'll go get some sheets for the guest room." She says, standing back up and walking over to the opening. She turns back around and smiles at me. "I can trust you too not to do anything right?" She asks, raising an eyebrow. My eyes goes wide, looking back to her with a shocked face.

"Yes ma'am, o-of course ma'am." I say, flustered. She smiles, before walking away.

Curse my awkwardness!
