Chapter 2 - The Resume

He worked nonstop for six months to get promoted or at least exhibit what he is capable of in his targeted period of time.

He is that kind of man.

Zedric Dakila is someone who lays out a plan to achieve short term and long term goals.

He updates the plan and organizes checklists.

When he gradually attained the plans, he made it a habit and a lifestyle having a notebook as daily journal for direction and achievement track.

And that habit has somehow got it fall apart too.

He lost his journal where he put and organized his business meeting outline!

He doesn't know how it happened but somehow, the ecobag got exchanged at the candle stall!

He looked for almost two hours and still nothing!

He was so engrossed with finding the notebook that he failed to prepare to report to the office and check in on time for the business meeting!

Zedd works in a textile company focusing on exports. He is a production team manager.

The business meeting was set perfectly and yet, here he is messing it all up.

To add to his collective misfortune, the company director was set to join the business meeting as the client is a legend in the export industry.

He was thirty minutes late!

His team somehow managed to prepare the presentation and all but technical difficulties arose as well!

Talk about misfortune!

He came to the business hall disheveled and unprepared, because the business proposal outline in the journal is missing, although he studied the project so well. There were just those certain points where he needed to reconstruct and improve.

For certain, the company director was utmostly displeased by the portrayed incompetence and needlessly said, he was demoted from the position and at the end of the day, fired! Yes, fired.

Six months of sleepless nights and absences from social gatherings, from family to friends, all for his goals' realization and here he is, demoted and jobless!

Life really has a way of getting back at you at the most unexpected times. This is why he loves savoring each and every moment with style. In his case, in organization and order. But still, that job was a hard earned one so, he is loaded with bitter thoughts by losing it. He could still remember how he consoled himself a couple of times just to be at the top during trying times because he believes he has to be his own man for his self growth and realization. And how elated he was when the supervisory post was given to him on the fifth month! Then, how his team became the leading team on his first month as team manager in the production. But nothing goes too well they say, in a blink of an eye, it all becomes a memory.

At least, better than nothing or to have not achieved anything at all in his middle life.

He so remembered yesterday that he wished to live a little, guess he really would by now. He's got nothing to do! Goodness gracious, he hasn't thought this day would even come.

On his way out of the company, by the lobby, he received a call from his girl friend Joey, yes, girl/female friend, asking for the CV he said he has that perhaps might help her in looking for a Marketing Content Writer. Joey is his best friend who works as an HR specialist of Innove Powerhouse, company for advertisements in all platforms, as in all.

On his way to the candle stall this morning, he saw a folder with a label CV. That's in front of the cathedral actually. He thought of reading through it when he has the time and might as well return it to the owner but the mishap happened.

And his life tumbled upside down 360 degrees.

Without reading it, he dropped off the CV folder at the reception of Joey's building which is only adjacent to their building. But now, yeah, not anymore. He is unemployed from here and God knows until when.

While running through the journal, Hennie actually becomes more and more amazed by the organization skills of its owner. Wow, daily checklists and oh the hand writing is really good and impressive!

But what caught her eye is the post it note which dated yesterday which has a job vacancy, the building's address and which company.

Talk about luck!

She's been chilling the whole week doing almost nothing professionally and work related after she resigned from her latest job.

She can only save her peace after losing her heart and best friend.

Ex-best friend by now, actually.

As she looked for her CV folder, she just can't find it.

What's happening to her recently...

She just keeps on losing tabs of her things and even exchanging and interchanging activity schedules!

Must this be a result of a broken heart?

Anyway, she printed and before that edited her CV to relate to the job vacancy she will be attending to and going to tomorrow!

Hiraya Athena Clay, Language Analyst.

"To write is to leave an unseen path of originality that leads to you."

But she is at the moment jobless after she resigned from her four-year job as a home writer which means, she still needed to report weekly to the company to submit work of course, and meet deadlines.

After university, she and her best friend Mayumi applied for the same job and ended both being hired. This was the job she left. Their boss, Seth, who also happens to be their batch mate is the long time crush of Hennie and only her best friend, Mayumi, knows that. She keeps telling Mayumi about her dreamy hopes and fantasies of her and Seth and Mayumi always being Mayumi is so mum at it. Only to find out last week that Yumi and Seth were already a couple and that's half a year already! Not only that, she's the only one in the office who doesn't know that! Poor her, very blind. But this is to the wishes of Mayumi to rather keep things from her so she can't be hurt.

Well, hello? Who would like your best friend to make a fool out of you?

She resigned from the company without thinking about it so much and it goes well really. She always have felt she could do better than dwell at that company and this new found job vacancy will prove her gut and hunch right!

Hennie here waving to the new job!

Truly, finders keepers.
