Ashlin POV
Lucan house held the elegance of a rich family with the colour scheme of navy blue and crimson red. The sofas and glass table in the living room kept a mature touch on it while the tiled island and mahogany dinner table added a homey feel to it all. Sitting on the dinner table I took a deep breath wondering if this experience will be worth giving up perfection for. Lucan pulled me off the table, up the double staircase and down a long hall to a bedroom. We sat silently on the soft couch placed near the door way as placing his forehead against my own his eyes shut and slowly breathing replaced the once quicker ones. He was asleep, my hands reached for his cheek only to be held in a tight hold.
"Don't move"
Stretching out my leg, I move my head making his rest against my chest.
"I told you not to move" his voice sounded like a whine.
We slept on the couch that might not moving an inch, bathing in each other's warmth. His touch seemed to make my body sensitive and aware. We awoke in each other's arms and slowed detached ourselves. Lucan bathe first and got dressed in a black suit before going to the kitchen, I had just finished bathing and putting on a grey bra with a grey laced pantypants when Layton's voice ran through out the house.
"Lucan!!" He shouted his brother's name, taking out a black button up shirt from Lucan' s huge closet I put it on before walking downstairs.
"Yes I have work to attend to but explain to me why Ashlin's contract is well in ashes?" My presence went unnoticed until I sat on the kitchen table.
"Morning" I yawned out rubbing the sleep out of my eyes with balled fist.
"Is that how you're coming to work with me?" Lucan asked ignoring his brother.
"No, I dont really have anything to wear"
"I almost forgot, in my closet there's a blouse and skirt that should fit you"
"I'm still here stop ignoring me and answer my question"
"The little angel and myself made a different contract"
I left them to talk or argue while i got dressed and made my way back to the kitchen again. Lucan had his brother pinned against the wall, glancing to me then his watch he released him. Layton narrowed his eyes at me before sitting at the table. I took my usual seat on top of the table swinging my short legs that refused to touch the ground.
"It fits you better than I thought" Lucan commented.
"So the not have chairs in heaven?" Layton questioned.
"I don't know"
"How could you not? You lived in heaven for many years"
"Really Sherlock? Last time I checked even though I lived in heaven I spent my time all over the world"
"What's the longest you stayed in your house in heaven?" Luca's joined in the conversation.
"Three years prior my training to be an Archangel so if we can end the twenty questions that'll be good"
"Let's get to work" Lucan guided me out of the house into the city.
A large building came into view, entering many people rushed about, shattering once Lucan entered. His presence made everyone quiet down eyes focused on my being as we walked to the elevator. His arm snaked around my waist pulling me closer as we stopped on the top floor and walk to his office. Once we entered he pushed me against the door looking into my eyes.
"Do you know what your job is?" His eyebrow raise in a questioning manner.
"No what is it?" He pulled me to his desk where he pulled a chair next to his.
"Your job is to stay by my side especially at night" nodding he continuted, "Can you sort these papers while you're here?"
I sort through many papers each was a profile of persons who are to be admitted into Hell. Some were saints, in ten minutes I had sort through three large sacks of papers. I was now spinning around in my chair as Lucan talked to another demon about business. I was in mid spin when he stopped and looked at me with questioning eyes.
"Bored that's what I feel"a mischievous smile grew on his face before vanishing.
"We'll take more at our next meet Mr. Lucifer" the man said exiting the office.
Lucan spinned his chair to face me before pulling me into his lap so my body now straddle his. His arms hung like a loose belt on my hips, we were forehead against forehead looking into each other's eyes. His eyes held dangerous flames ready to burn anyone who dares to come close. His door open to reveal Cerrabus and Layton now starring at us. I tried to move away but his arms tighten, he paid no attention to his brother and the small female.
"Do you still feel bored" his breathing was above a whisper.
"Why do you always get like this when out bodies connect?" Both my hands were placed on his shoulders as he held them tight.
"When we're like this my soul feels calm, my demon settles down" I did the unthinkable and hugged him without a though in the world.
"Surprising aren't you little one?" Nodding made a small laugh rushed past his lips it was beautiful.
"You should laugh more"
"We should kiss more" he said as we pulled apart from the hug and I was straddling him again.
"We don't kiss" just then he kissed me and it was different from Layton kisses.
It was sweet, pleasurable but dangerous and toxic making me want more. Our tongues fought and his won claiming dominance, we pulled apart for air breathing heavily.
"I don't have feelings for you but there's something stronger than any emotion" I was then pulled off his lap Cerrabus then took my place.
"Let me go!" I tugged my arms out of the tight grip and made a big distance between myself and the two males.
I placed my hair in a messy ponytail then played with the feathers of my wings. The soft feeling as my fingers comb through them made me relax even the small horns were smooth. A warm light coated my body, sighing in content I allowed my body to be engulfed in the light. A hand teased the skin of my wings making my back arch. The light turned to flames and I enjoy every burn my body took, hands wrap around me making the flames slowly distinguish. A whine left my lips as I long for the warmth of those flames. A kiss was placed on my neck, shivers stole the stillness of my body.
Those hands were removed from me and so were those lips by a small white male. Cerrabus seemed to claim the two brothers not wanting any of them to be around me. She did unnecessary little things to take their attention off of me. So I left herwith them as I headed back to Lucan's home. Undressing I hopped into the shower and took a long bath. I searched through Lucan's closet for clothes and I found a bra and underwear pairing it with a white shirt I got dressed. The shirt didn't reach very far from my butt, the shirt wasn't properly buttoned showing a lot of cleavage. Walking down to the kitchen I cooked and sat on the table eating my meal. When I had finished, i laid down allowing my feet to dangle of the table. I probably fell asleep because when I opened my eyes again my body was being carried poking the person's chest they stopped and look down at me.
"Yes, little one?" Lucan asked setting me down on my feet.
"Cold" I tangled my body around his trying to not touch the ice cold tiles.
"Yh let's get to bed it's midnight" he laughed out carrying me like a koala.
"You worked late?" I asked as he rest me on his bed and walked into the bathroom.
"Yeah it happens a lot so you shouldn't stay up waiting for me" then the shower turned on.
"Who said I'll wait up for you?" I muttered to myself fidgeting with my thumb.
Something inside me wanted to lecture him on how working late can be bad for him. Even though he wasn't humans it could still affect his health. Then it dawned on me, I was starting to care for the heartless creature and there was nothing I could do to stop it. He exited the bathroom and walked to the closet getting dressed in a jersey, boxers and loose pants. He sat between my legs starring at me occasionally his fingers will twirl pieces of my hair but that was all.
"Why did you leave earlier today?"
"It seemed that Cerrabus didn't want me around you and your brother so I left" in seconds I was pushed down on the bed.
"Is that your best excuse?"
"I don't use excuses it's not part of my dictionary" his hold on my wrist tighten surely bursing them.
"Cerrabus won't do that she's a creature that needs a lot of attention and care" I sure I heard a cracking sound as his hold grew impossibly tighter.
Instead of saying something I cried out in pain as my wrist was not longer being felt as a part of me. He raised an eyebrow before loosing his grip, once out of his hold I scattered to the head of the bed away from him. He was no longer the person I thought him to be but instead someone I now feared more than God's wrath. Every move he made to close the gap between us made me broaden the gap until I was on the opposite side of the room. He scared me and when I'm scared I do everything in my power to stay away from what scares me. I fell asleep on the floor and awoke to his hands around me, I whimpered in fear. Stirring he soon awoke, I whimpered again as my body whole violently fear consum8ng me alive. His hands reached for my face as I turned away from his touch. His eyes fell on my wrist that were a deep purple colour, the pain still evident in them.
"Why are you healing like you did before?" He didn't move but seemed fazed by my fear.
"Because I can't not until I'm close to death"
"Do they hurt?" I shook my head, my first sin I lied.
"An Angel lying never thought I would've seen the days" he took hold of my wrist, my heartbeat sped up and breathing was hard.
"I'm not going to hurt you" his words didn't comfort me, "You're afraid of me?".
"Lucan!" His brother voice echoed.
He got up, bathe and got dressed, I followed him and made my way to the living room. Cerrabus was there and I stayed far away from her too, she entered the kitchen where the brothers were. Cleus appeared looking for Layton but came to me instead.
"Bruises on such a beauty not a nice look at all" he touched my wrist and a whimper was my response.
"Shhh I have an idea but it'll hurt okay?" I nodded as he placed he ran his finger over the vein under my wrist.
A slice was created and my life slowly slipped away as a warm light engulfed me healing my body. All wounds and burses disappeared with the pain.
"Thank you" I hugged him tightly and he did the same.
"Anything little Angel"
"You can call me Ash if you want" we pulled apart and he smiled.
"Okay Ash it is" we sat beside each other and talked about random things the topic of Cerrabus and the brothers came up.
"Yeah that's Cerrabus, she does it in a way that he brothers don't see. She is the Hell hound and since a pup they cared for him. The brothers just cared about her well being since she is their responsible and has been around for them when they needed someone"
"Angels have emotions and a heart" I looked down.
"If you could be God for a day what would you change" the world around us disappear replaced by a cliff top that we ow sat on.
"I would change where suicidal people go when they kill themselves" my heart ached at the memory.
"Tell me about it" I looked at him shocked, " I maybe death but I also have a heart".
"I was on a mission and I met a human, he was a cutter before than he was so optimistic. We became friends, he was able to see my wings a pure heart. One day he tried to kill himself again but didn't succeed and he said, 'I'm too old for heaven, to hound for Hell so for now I'll stay in this harsh world' everything he failed he would repeat that. He was an Angel but he had demons that torn his beauty away and him apart. One day when I reported back to heaven he jumped off a cliff into a raging sea below. He didn't want to die but end the pain by any means necessary unfortunately he ended his life and was sent to Hell" my eyes threw up all the tears I've held back.
"What is his name?" His comforted me.
"River Phoenix"
"And if you don't mind me asking what is your name?"
"Ashlin Phoenix"
"He was your husband or brother?"
