Volume 4 Summary (1/2), Chapter 63 - Chapter 79

As the title states. This will spoil the volume, obviously. This goes up to the chapter "Another Problem (1)"

SPOILERS AHEAD

Chapter 63: Satanic Victory

- (Flashback) Satan is clearly victorious over Moloch (Four-horned demon lord), and Baal (Curled-horn demon lord)

- (Flashback) Satan requests a negotiation immediately after defeating Moloch and Baal

- (Flashback) Satan reveals he worships Chaos (God thought to have created the link between the human world and the Otherworld)

- (Flashback) Satan proposes the Non-aggression pact with Moloch and Baal and has the two of them sign a warden's contract (A contract he and Lucifer can conjure)

- (Flashback) Death confronts Satan over letting Moloch and Baal "infect" another part of the world

- (Flashback) Satan reveals he's not afraid of Death and Death snaps his horn in response

Chapter 64: Doing What's Right

- The group follows Kahvis to their base. The base is next to a swampy territory known as Bolotano

- Kahvis shows clear concern for the losses they suffered in the raid on the Underground

- Saint reveals she's there to initiate a "Lockdown" on the area on the order of the Healers' Guild

- It's revealed that Passage is one of many neutral zones under the control of Canta, a member of the Healers' Guild

- Lucifer tells his team (Excluding Peter) that he wants them to leave, and that the upcoming war "isn't their fight"

- Lao, Yvere, Sabu, and Heinrich argue to stay

- Peter agrees with Lucifer's decision

- Lucifer tells the team that none of them (except for Peter) are actual soldiers. He goes on to state that he only wanted to make them stronger for their own safety

- Lao brings up Sol in an attempt to argue for the team staying but Lucifer counters by saying it's nothing compared to Moloch and Baal's force. Lucifer says "How many close calls does this mission need to have before I'm effectively just gambling with your lives?"

- Lucifer speaks directly to each team member, giving them a personal reason why they shouldn't stay.

- Elijah feels respect for Lucifer

- Saint says she'll stay to help the victims that were rescued from the Underground

- Lucifer tells the team members that are leaving that if any of them show up later he'll banish them from Hell

- Elijah asks Lucifer about the state of his contract, to which Lucifer responds "Of course, you've done more than enough,"

- Peter has this thought, 'And beings wonder why I still follow ya...' which causes him to scrunch his face in anger

Chapter 65: Everyone's Arguments (1)

- Saint had stayed behind to speak to Kahvis while the others left

- Death tries to lift Lucifer's spirits with a joke about sending a vampire healer away. Lucifer responds tiredly, showing his care for Yvere

- Peter contemplates his position as the team's second in command

- Peter, Death, and Lucifer remained silent for their walk back to the base

- Saint is looking for Kahvis in the base. She finds them consoling a group of humans and decides to wait until they're done

- Kahvis shows clear displeasure with Saint

- Saint and Kahvis have a back-and-forth where Kahvis berates Saint for the Guild's decision. Saint stays calm while speaking with Kahvis and reveals that she works with, not for, the Guild

- Kahvis reveals that they have spoken to some of the Healers' Guild's masters before. Saint is surprised that Kahvis has spoken with one of the masters before.

- Kahvis tries to irritate Saint by telling her that the Guild must not fully trust her. Saint warns Kahvis to not "play this game" with her

- Saint wants to confirm that Kahvis won't do something insane before they speak with the Guild. Kahvis further insults the Guild. Saint doesn't fall for the insult

- Kahvis decides they're not in the right mood to speak with the Guild.

- Saint asks Kahvis to send any victims to her. Kahvis mocks "Actually helpful, I guess you really don't work for the guild,"

- Saint warns Kahvis to pick their fights properly

- Peter meets up with Oliver to discuss their side of things in the coming war. Oliver has something he wants to talk about with Peter

- Oliver has a problem with what Lucifer did in the Underground

- Peter shows clear irritation with Oliver's comments about Lucifer

- Oliver further insults Lucifer's decisions. Peter is too frustrated by the journey so far to be diplomatic and responds angrily

- Oliver brings up the fact that Lucifer owes Death his life. Peter brings up Zach (Grim leader), enraging Oliver. Oliver refers to Lucifer as "Devil"

- Peter shouts and punches a hole in the stone wall of the hut he and Oliver are in. Peter whispers "Lucifer is your better, no matter what ya think of him, and I'm sure Death feels the same," to Oliver before leaving the hut

Chapter 66: Everyone's Arguments (2)

- Peter and Saint have a brief conversation where Peter thanks Saint for putting her issues with Death aside temporarily

- Saint tells Peter to give her his damaged hand so she can heal it. She reminds Peter that she didn't get her name from letting small things go.

- Lucifer, Kahvis, and Death begin their strategy meeting for the coming war. Death reveals he's seriously considered fighting Moloch and Baal in the past

- Lucifer lists the commanding demons and their magics. Moloch (Blood magic), Baal (Void-skin), Urdros (Earth), Mileera (Lightning), Kut'thar (Healing), Urdras (Healing), Jahkar (Fire), Molakar (Fire), Baastra (Fire)

- While going over the demon's numbers Death gets frustrated with Kahvis. Kahvis assures Death that they had other plans if needed

- Oliver shows up to the strategy meeting and demands to speak with Lucifer. Lucifer obliges.

- Oliver shows open disgust with Lucifer while Lucifer speaks respectfully.

- Oliver says "The difference between you and Death is that it matters if he dies," to which Lucifer responds, "You think I don't know that?"

- Oliver is surprised by Lucifer's responses. Lucifer brings up the Lycan Hunt to Oliver and claims "What Death did that night is the real him," and that "Who he is now is his attempt at changing-"

- Oliver grows increasingly unsure about his anger towards Lucifer. Oliver changes to a sad tone as he talks about the two Grim (Alex and Jakob) he lost and how he can't forgive Kahvis for not warning him about the demon's attack

- Peter finds Lucifer and Oliver talking and shouts at Oliver. Oliver gets in Peter's face

- Lucifer steps in-between the two and gets hit in the face by Oliver. Lucifer can tell Peter is about to burst so he lifts Peter and Oliver in the air by their throats

- Lucifer orders Peter not to fight here. Oliver and Peter start a duel with each other with Lucifer acting as the referee

Chapter 67: Greatly Exaggerated

- Oliver stays calm after Peter mocks him during their duel

- Peter lands the first hit on Oliver, almost winning the duel. Oliver says he's not done yet through a dislocated jaw. Both men are considerably less angry in the next round

- Oliver thinks 'I guess you weren't exaggerating his skill, Zach,' while locked with Peter

- Peter remembers a saying, "A thrown match is just a loss for both sides." when thinking about giving Oliver the win

- Peter shoulder-checks Oliver and brings his wooden sword down on Oliver's wooden staff, breaking the sword in the process. Peter follows up and knocks Oliver to the ground

- Peter wins. Peter offers a hand up to Oliver.

- Oliver says they should fight with magic to make it fair. Peter assures him that it wouldn't make a difference and apologizes for how he had acted

- Oliver accidentally says "I don't think humans should live as long as you have," to Peter. Peter agrees

- Oliver tries to apologize further to Peter. Peter says he understands where Oliver was coming from but not to question him or Lucifer again.

- Oliver is happy that he gets to fight alongside Death. Peter tells him he shouldn't be. Oliver get angry at the response and asks Peter why. Peter says "Not a single one of your kind, except for one, would ever want to fight Death. So ya can imagine what fightin' his enemies would be like."

- Oliver agrees and apologizes for his immaturity.

- Oliver and Peter meet Yamato. Yamato's expression is so stiff it appears almost frozen.

- Yamato is revealed to have three affinities

- Peter asks what deal Yamato had taken. Yamato says R'yaarj, which Peter reveals is an eldritch

Chapter 68: Over-Reliance

- Peter shows he's knowledgeable on the eldritch and cites Hell's libraries as the main source

- Yamato reveals he was reborn in Hell and refused Lucifer's contract offer. He also reveals his deal with eldritch R'yaarj takes 90% of his total mana

- Yamato explains that the plan is to have Death fight Baal's army while everyone else fights Moloch's

- Peter and Oliver meet the other resistance commanders (Ming, William, Ivan). Ming is missing an eye which prompts Peter to ask "Which demon took the eye?"

- Ming uses sign language to say "A demon" which Peter replied to with "Qlisyth then,"

- Peter says "I know all of the arch-demons. I make it a point to warn people not to take their deals,"

- Yamato says that Asmodeus and Belphegor are in another territory with other resistance members

- After Death questions Kahvis on the underworld alliance, Kahvis says that "The surface, literally and figuratively, is faking peace. The only god among the ones I asked who showed any signs of wanting peace was Hades."

- Death feels something familiar about Kahvis that he can't quite place. He makes sure Kahvis understands that the underworld alliance is a terrible idea for all involved and that it could cause another "cataclysm"

- Lucifer assumes that Death is comparing Kahvis to his father

- Kahvis says they were willing to use the underworld gods to further their goals even though the alliance itself wouldn't last

- Death shows anger at the idea that Kahvis would do something so drastic. Kahvis says "What I want will take kicking and thrashing, not long centuries of diplomacy,"

- Death is still unsure about Kahvis

Chapter 69: Don't Bother

- Death decides to try and patch things up with Saint

- Death tells Saint he wants to talk about the past, to which Saint replies "I don't"

- Saint shows strong care for the rescued beings of the Underground

- Death tells Saint "I don't want to go into this battle without having made some type of amends,"

- Saint and Death have a back-and-forth about Death's worries, with Saint showing no signs of worry for Death's safety

- Death keeps trying to talk with Saint. Saint keeps reaffirming her disdain for Death

- Death says "All of our history is just meaningless to you now?" to which Saint replies "It was meaningless with him, so why not me as well?"

- Death yells in a whisper at Saint. Saint responds by hitting Death with her palm, sending him flying backward

- Death accepts that he can't fix the relationship and thinks to himself "Maybe I should just be happy that you're still healing at all."

- Lucifer approaches Saint who tells him "I already sent Death away, so choose your words carefully,"

- Lucifer shows he's just here to ask Saint some questions. The main one being what she will do if the demon lords' armies attack. Saint responds with "Every being in this world knows my policy."

- Lucifer leaves after Saint threatens to give him the same treatment as Death. Saint thinks to herself "Good to see you have more tact than the two of them combined,"

- (Before the strategy meeting with Lucifer and Death) Kahvis shows that they feel the same way about Saint as they do Death in regards to the two's passiveness

- Peter refuses a duel with Yamato and says he wants to wait until the battle is over. Yamato responds with "Well, I have that to look forward to after we've won."

- Peter shows irritation with Yamato's confidence

- The five (Yvere, Lao, Heinrich, Sabu, Elijah) that Lucifer sent back to Hell encounter a Hellspawn demon as they leave Verdyr

Chapter 70: Death's Purpose (1)

- Death is training for the upcoming battle. He's annoyed by the beings spectating him.

- (Flashback: After the battle of Sol) Death and Lucifer are having a conversation about Death's battle against Amaterasu. Death leaves out the fact that he obliterated land during the battle.

- (Flashback: After the battle of Sol) Death says he doesn't trust that Amaterasu will tell her father that she broke her oath but that he trusts the look of fear he saw on her face. Lucifer tells him to be careful and that "Fear can easily revert into anger." Death scoffs and replies with "No offense, but how do you feel when you think about your father?" causing Lucifer to shudder.

- (Flashback: After the battle of Sol) Death mentions that Lucifer's rank in the world is misrepresented. Lucifer says he prefers that. Lucifer warns that Amaterasu's siblings (Susanoo and Tuskuyomi) might want revenge. Death says he's not worried.

- (Flashback: After the battle of Sol) Death and Lucifer both blame themselves for what happened in Sol. Death asks Lucifer if he wants him to take over the mission from here, to which Lucifer replies "I want to see this through. If this unknown is a bigger problem, which it probably is, then I want to be there to help you."

- (Flashback: After the battle of Sol) Death ends the conversation off by asking Lucifer if he thinks he could beat Amaterasu in a game of Hopu (A game where two beings who have the same affinity throw magic at each other in increasing volleys). Lucifer replies "Obviously"

- Death is criticizing himself over his passiveness as he swings his scythe faster and faster. He starts scaring his spectators. Death slips into his hunter form during the training. Saint interrupts his training to tell him that he's scaring his spectators.

- Saint questions why Death is even bothering to train. Death says "Because I'm not a Rider anymore," to which Saint responds "It's not like some last-minute practice is going to reawaken the former you." Saint assumes Death is training because he's worried about Lucifer in the battle, causing Death to snap and say "Don't pretend to care when you and I both know that if you really did you would actually join us in this fight."

- Death's response irritates Saint causing the conversation to get more heated. Saint says "Finally making up for past mistakes?", Death replies "Yes, as opposed to making new ones like you,"

- Saint goes to throw a punch at Death but Death catches it. Saint leaves with a look of anger on her face, causing the spectators to glare at Death. In response to the glares, Death thinks this 'You can be as angry as you want, it doesn't matter. Chances are most of you will die once the fighting actually starts...'

Chapter 71: Death's Purpose (2)

- Oliver is excited to speak with Death and gets annoyed by the irritated looks on the resistance force's faces

- Oliver starts arguing with the resistance forces about Death.

- Death gets interrupted by Oliver's shouting and yells in response. Kahvis shows up and asks what's going on.

- Kahvis asks for Death's assistance in dealing with the argument but Death refuses and shows a clear frustration with the crowd. Kahvis decides to side with Death and tells the crowd to leave. The crowd listens.

- Death decides to leave and go speak with Lucifer

- Oliver and Kahvis stay behind for a moment and have a conversation about Death. Kahvis warns Oliver about his admiration for Death. Kahvis states "Starting avoidable arguments, possibly risking your life on the battlefield. I've seen good beings like you die because of this kind of thing."

- Death joins Lucifer in a stone hut. Death apologizes for Oliver's behavior to which Lucifer responds "It's fine. You know I don't care what the Grim think about me."

- Death asks Lucifer "I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't come with you on this mission?" to which Lucifer coldly responds "I would have died in Sol,"

- Death asks Lucifer how killing two of the three heads felt. Lucifer responds "Frustratingly hollow." Lucifer asks Death how it felt when he thought he would kill Amaterasu. Death responds "Painfully familiar."

- Lucifer asks Death what he would have done against Cytus, Azriel, and Amaterasu. Death gives an answer that surprises Lucifer. Lucifer responds "I guess that's what it would take."

- Death has a flashback to a conversation he had with Ra in the past. Ra asks how he lives with "it" to which Death responds ["Killing or surviving?"]. Ra laughs at the question, surprising Death. When Ra answers ["Both"] Death says ["I remember that there's no fault in being fortunate, friend,"]

- While Death is thinking about humans he accidentally says out loud "How many times..." to which Lucifer responds "Till we're done,". Death goes to correct himself but realizes Lucifer misunderstood what he was saying and stays quiet

Chapter 72: Errors (1)

- (Past) Lucifer is warning a former team member (David) to be more careful.

- (Past) Lucifer and his team are greeted by a lycan. The lycan is in terrible shape with tattered clothing. The team takes this is as a warning.

- (Past) The lycan tells Lucifer that the resistance leader isn't here, causing Lucifer to fly off into the camp to check. Lucifer is immediately shot at by lightning. The team easily sweep up the resistance which leads to Peter warning that it was too easy.

- (Past) A shout from David alerts Lucifer that the Underground heads are here. Lucifer immediately orders his team to leave, fearful that there might be an even bigger threat coming.

- (Past) Baal intercepts the uništi that Lao and Peter are riding by throwing a hammer into its side. The uništi seems unfazed by the attack. Peter throws explosive orbs at Baal but Baal seems unaffected. Lucifer shows up, causing Baal to activate his bloodline magic (void-skin). Lucifer grabs Baal's horns and forces the demon to the ground, much to Baal's surprise.

- (Past) Lucifer is now stalling against Baal and the three heads

- (Past) David and Sabu hop of their uništi to stop Moloch. David and Sabu are struggling to stave off Moloch's attacks. Peter and Lao show up, leading Moloch to wonder where Lucifer is.

Chapter 73: Errors (2)

- Lao rushes after Moloch, avoiding attacks and landing a clean hit against Moloch's face. Moloch's assault continues

- David attacks Moloch with fire while simultaneously pushing the others to safety with earth. The others run while David keeps Moloch's attention

- Lucifer reconvenes with the team and the group (minus David) is able to retreat to Verdyr safely.

- Lucifer is furious with the situation. He calls Zach hoping there are Grim nearby that can help the group save David. The group is told that there isn't.

- David is tortured by Moloch

- Peter argues with Lucifer about getting revenge. Lucifer tells Peter "Someday, but not today..."

- Peter gets angrier as he argues with Lucifer about what they're going to do and says "What kind of leader are ya? Ya let one of your own be tortured like this!" "And ya just put your head down and accept it!"

- Peter calls Lucifer "THE DEVIL" in his anger. Lucifer doesn't respond, letting Peter continue to berate him for his decision. Eventually, Peter stops shouting and asks Lucifer "Promise me...promise me someday we'll come back and get revenge?"

- Lucifer says they will get revenge someday, even if he has to ask Satan for help. It's established that asking Satan for a favor is a world-renowned last resort.

- Lucifer goes to question Satan about his potential involvement in what happened but Satan says "I'm not the one that tipped off Moloch and Baal about your arrival," before Lucifer can ask anything.

- Satan assures that if anything ever happened to Lucifer, especially involving Moloch and Baal, that he would be Death's prime suspect.

- Lucifer accepts Satan's reasoning for now and mumbles that he needs a favor. Satan is incredibly excited at Lucifer's ask for a favor

Chapter 74: A Twisted Result (1)

- Lucifer is thinking about everything that's led up to this moment. His thoughts are interrupted by Lao coming into the hut.

- Death, Lucifer, Kahvis, and Peter are informed that there's a Satan-lead demon army approaching. Lao says that the team was warned by the demon Milsi

- Death has an unnervingly calm reaction to everything that's happening and calls Satan. Satan mocks Death, saying "This has been a long time in the making friend," Satan responded. "Your surprise just shows that I was giving you too much credit all this time."

- Lucifer tells Kahvis to take everyone to Bolotano. Kahvis takes everyone, leaving Lucifer and Death alone at the war table.

- Lucifer tries to calm Death down despite his own growing fear of Death. Lucifer is ultimately able to calm Death down for the moment, stating that Milsi being able to warn them doesn't make sense on Satan's part.

- Death tells Lucifer to stay safe and that he plans on hunting. Lucifer tries to reconcile with the fact that this isn't his friend he had been traveling with but Death, Rider of the apocalypse. Lucifer continues to try and convince Death not to run off on his own, "You can't fight all three of them! This isn't Ragnarok, you don't have the help of the other Riders, and Satan's actually talented at battle, unlike Moloch."

- The way Death's acting reminds Lucifer of his father. Lucifer says "Snap out of this. THIS ISN'T THE WORLD'S GRAVE!" before eventually moving to grab Death. Death snaps Lucifer's arm and warns Lucifer to stay out of his way.

- Lucifer flies off and looks for Saint. He finds her, gets on his knees, and begs her to help. Saint agrees.

- Lucifer throws Saint at Death. Saint is initially irritated with Death until she hears how he's speaking, resulting in her changing her tone to be softer.

- Death says that Saint proved there's no "we" in this battle and to stay out of his way. Saint's arms glow white and she shouts to Lucifer to make sure no one else gets involved. Saint gets the advantage in the fight, leading to Death shouting in a similar way he did when dueled Lucifer

Chapter 75: A Twisted Result (2)

- Saint and Death's fight continues with Lucifer spectating from above. Saint takes significant damage in the fight but still appears to be winning.

- Death gets more violent as the fight goes on, tearing chunks off of Saint as the two exchange attacks

- Eventually, Saint baits Death into striking his hand through her stomach. She grabs his hand and pins him to the ground, striking him in the chest with her palms. Saint's body is mutilated over and over again as she slams her palms into Death's chest. Despite the damage Saint is taking, she still appears to be winning.

- Saint wins, knocking Death back to his senses. Death is ashamed of what he's done.

- Saint heals Death and the two have a somewhat casual back-and-forth. Lucifer wonders why Saint is smiling as she speaks with Death. Death knows why but it's revealed he doesn't plan on telling Lucifer the reason until much later in the story.

Chapter 76: The Calm

- Satan is having an echo conversation with Moloch and Baal, telling them they need to attack now while giving the two minimal information on his side of things

- Moloch meets with his commanders (Molakar, Jahkar, and Kut'thar) to discuss the coming battle. Baal meets with his commanders (Urdras, Urdros, Mileera, and Baastra). Urdros and Urdras are twins/Molakar and Jahkar are brothers.

- Zach is informed by Mary that Satan betrayed Death. Zach questions what's going on and whether it was right for him to tell Death to go on the mission

- Lucifer calls a woman named Vivian in Hell and asks her what the situation there is. Vivian informs that other than most of the demons being gone (Which is revealed to not be that unusual) she hasn't noticed anything else out of the ordinary

- Death calls Fensyr and warns about what's happened. Fensyr acts confident about Death when speaking with another lycan while continuing to worry.

- Death calls Lucius. Lucius states "When you make it back, Gwyn and I are throwing the biggest celebration in Sangmara's history." and goes on to say "Even bigger than when Mara and Vázo won the war."

- Lucifer calls Michael. The call ends and another angel says "Maybe the fallen and the demon lord will take each other out," leading to Michael mumbling "Watch your mouth..."

- Lucifer asks Death if that's everyone to which Death replies "Ra wouldn't pick up, but yeah,"

- Lucifer and Death split off, readying themselves for the coming battle

Chapter 77: Here and Now (1)

- Lucifer and Death act as a spearhead, channeling magic as they wait for the demon army to approach. The two attack the demon army and the battle begins. Lucifer covers the skies while Kahvis covers the ground.

- Lucifer clears out the skies while Kahvis focuses on taking out the anti-air demons. Lucifer and Kahvis are maintaining a clear advantage against the demon army.

- Jahkar challenges Lucifer in the air while Molakar (Covered in heavy armor) challenges Kahvis on the ground. Kahvis is unable to pierce through Molakar's armor while Lucifer is stalled by Jahkar. Neither is struggling in their respective battle but the flood of demons is becoming a problem.

- Lucifer realizes he needs to help Kahvis and decides to gamble his durability against Jahkar. His wings get torched by an explosive orb and he lands on Molakars back. Molakar laughs at Lucifer, Lucifer responds by blasting Molakar's helmet with blue fire, melting the metal. Lucifer conjures new wings and grabs Kahvis as he flies up.

- Kahvis clips Jahkar's wings making Jahkar land. Lucifer and Kahvis strafe run the demon forces while Kahvis heals Lucifer. The two land and shift tactics.

- Kahvis creates large stone pillars. Lucifer stands atop one, blasting off powerful orbs at a speed that's too fast for the demons to redirect.

- Molakar sends eruptions of fire through the pillars but is unable to destroy the pillar Lucifer is on. Kahvis jumps down to meet Molakar. Molakar's armor has an opening in it from Lucifer's blue fire. Jahkar copies Lucifer's tactic and is able to force Lucifer to move

- Kut'thar tells Moloch that he should be with the other commanders. Moloch states that they are to act as the finishing touch. Kut'thar calls Moloch a fool under his breath

Chapter 78: Here and Now (2)

- (Before Lucifer and Kahvis's battle with the demons) Moloch and Baal are having a conversation. There's a clear distrust between the two. Moloch is openly distrustful of Satan while Baal keeps his distrust of Satan to himself.

- (Before the team members Lucifer sent away left Verdyr) Milsi (The demon that warned Lucifer's team about Satan's betrayal) is questioning everything that's happened. She thinks to herself 'Viri...Qlu, maybe your deaths sent him down this path?'

- Molakar attempts to use strategies he was told about by Kut'thar. Lucifer takes this as a bad sign and decides to try and end the fight sooner. He causes an eruption of flame far larger than Molakar's, incinerating most of the demon forces that stood behind Molakar.

- Jahkar is furious at the scene of most of the demons being killed and activates his eldritch contract. Jahkar's body mutates, leading to him growing two extra wings. Jahkar warns Molakar and sends a barrage of explosive orbs down towards the ground. Lucifer flies up to stop Jahkar. Jahkar keeps Lucifer back with explosive orbs shot from his wings while blasting flames from his hands at Kahvis

- Molakar rushes through the flames and pins Kahvis to the ground. Molakar is confident with his position. Kahvis puts slams his palms against Molakar's armor and launches the demon into the sky. The sight of Molakar being lifted into the air causes Jahkar to stop shooting flames for a second, leading to Kahvis shooting a bolt across Jahkar's face.

- Lucifer catches Molakar in midair and breathes fire on the exposed part of Molakar's armor. Molakar's screaming causes Jahkar to switch targets from Kahvis to Lucifer. Lucifer drops Molakar and proceeds to redirect the wave of fire Jahkar launches at him.

- Molakar slams into the ground as he lands. He sees what he thinks is Kut'thar but is actually Kahvis. Kahvis shoots a bolt into Molakar's head, killing the demon commander.

- Jahkar's torrent of flames stop. Lucifer goes to redirect an explosive orb but doesn't notice the smaller orb behind it, leading to him losing his hand in an explosion. Baastra is hovering next to Jahkar, smiling.

Chapter 79: Another Problem (1)

- (Before Lucifer and Kahvis's battle with the demons) Lao and Elijah are talking on the walk to Bolotano. Lao is trying to apologize to Elijah for everything that's happened. Elijah swallows his own frustrations with what's happening and asks Lao about Lao's contract. The two have a short conversation about healing and martial magic, which seems to lift Lao's spirits

- (Before Lucifer and Kahvis's battle with the demons) Peter shows clear mental exhaustion by everything as he speaks with the rest of the team

- (Before Lucifer and Kahvis's battle with the demons) Yamato insists that Yvere and Lao help in the coming battle. Peter tells Yamato that the team members will be staying with Saint during the fighting. Yamato says "Can't avoid fighting forever." and before any of the other team members can say anything, Peter puts his hand up signaling them not to.

- (Before Lucifer and Kahvis's battle with the demons) Saint, Sabu, Heinrich, Lao, Yvere, and Elijah are setting up an area for the rescued victims of the Underground. Saint mentions that if Elijah is still using magic after losing a hand to it that he has a bright future ahead of him.

- (After Lucifer and Kahvis's initial contact with the demon army) Team one: Yamato, Peter, Oliver, Rebecca, Julia, Ming, William, and Hyou wait near the border of Bolotano, ready to intercept any stray demons that make it past Lucifer and Kahvis. A force of demons with two of Baal's commanders approaches, making everyone wonder what's happening on Death's side
