So in an attempt to not just stop uploading for however long it takes for me to catch things up on goodnovel I'll be uploading side stories here. I'm not sure how many I'll do after the initial 5 I have planned, but we'll see. These stories are canon, but not relevant to the story.
- Sabu -
(A different time in the story)
Sabu was walking around one of the cities of Hell, Atanas. He wanted to buy new knives and get a better understanding of the area.
"What are you doing around this part?" A demon asked Sabu.
"Just shopping for new knives Sulli." Sabu answered.
Sulli, full name Sulliketh, was wearing a long red robe that dragged along his feet as he walked. His white hair covered his face with only his short horns poking out.
"Your part of Hell has its own blacksmiths. If you're doing some kind of security check again I've been told to tell you that it's not necessary."
"I think it's good to get an idea of what the different parts of Hell are like. It helps clear my head having a better image of my surroundings." Sabu responded.
The two walked together down the streets of the city. Sabu wanted Sulli to leave him alone, but couldn't bring himself to tell him such. Sulli spoke endlessly the entire time much to Sabu's annoyance.
"So how many knives do you in an average battle?"
"I don't keep count." Sabu sighed.
"What about kills?" Sulli quickly followed up.
"I don't keep count of that either." Sabu grimaced. "Kill counting is something from my former life I try to avoid doing."
"I think it's important." Sulli said. "Maybe it's a demon thing though." He scratched his left horn.
Sabu arrived at the store he had originally planned on visiting. He was greeted by a demon sitting down sharpening a broadsword against a grindstone. The store had large weapons hung up all around with engravings of different demon's names.
"Hey Yulik." Sulli waved.
Yulik was a large demon. His bald head had an iron mask on it that he had flipped up when the two walked it. He was wearing a dark black apron over his bare chest, with pants that had multiple burn holes in them.
"What are you doing here Sulli?" Yulik asked.
"Showing Sabu around." Sulli laughed. "I saw him walking around and decided it was a rare opportunity to get to know him better."
Sabu groaned. He wished he felt as confident as Peter or Lucifer when it came to telling someone to leave him alone. He didn't want to be rude, especially to a demon. He thought it would be a bad idea to offend one of Hell's natives.
"I'm looking for some new knives." Sabu told Yulik.
"Already ran out or just adding to the collection?" Yulik asked.
"Little bit of both I suppose." Sabu said.
Yulik walked to the back of his shop and came back with a large black box the length of his body. He opened it to reveal a large collection of knives and daggers.
"Should all be plenty sharp and good for throwing. Ever since Prince switched to daggers I've had more requests for these things."
Sabu grabbed some of the smaller knives out of the box and tested the weight. He was making sure it would fit well in his hidden pouches. Sulli looked at him curiously.
"How many you hiding in here?" Sulli said placing his hands on Sabu's body.
"What are you doing?!" Sabu shouted.
Sulli backed off. He was surprised to hear Sabu shout.
"Sorry I was just curious. Demons talk about the reborn ya know? You come up in discussion every now and again."
"What about me comes up?" Sabu asked, placing the knives back into the box.
"How many weapons you hide on your body, how accurate you are at throwing, how many you've killed. Usual demon things." Sulli informed.
"He's not lying." Yulik added.
"I'm not answering the first or third question, but if you really want to know my accuracy take me to a target range." Sabu said confidently.
Both demons smiled at each other.
At a target range surrounded by demons Sabu stood in the middle of eight targets, two above his head, two on his left and right side, and two in front of him being moved around on a pole by another demon.
"Place your bets, will he hit all of them in less than ten seconds!" Sulli shouted as he walked around collecting coins.
'How did I end up here?' Sabu sighed, readying four knives in both hands.
In a flash Sabu hit every target dead center in just under ten seconds. Demonic cheers followed soon after.
"Incredible!" Sulli yelled as he ran up to Sabu. "I knew you could do it." He slapped him on the back.
"Thanks..."Sabu mumbled. "I'm going to head back now."
Sabu collected the knives from the targets and left. He wasn't sure if he felt pride or embarrassment for what happened. Were the demons impressed or just treating him like entertainment? One thing did make him happy though. He had a new story to tell that he wasn't ashamed of.
