"What....child?!!" Mr. Bernard saw the picture and instantly a sudden thought flashed in his almost blank mind.
'These eyes....I've seen them before....' Mr. Bernard thought in his mind but showed no change of expression on his face.
"She looks cute.." he simply smiled handing the mobile back to Isabella.
"She's cute indeed...." Isabella said looking at the picture on her mobile before looking back at the man seated in front of her.
"Right, she's right here in the waiting room. Would you like to see her personally?" Isabella said smiling at him.
Isabella didn't mind her University senior having a look at her child because she has immense trust in him.
"Really...." Mr.Bernard asked. He wanted to check on the little girl and know if the doubt he had in his mind was true.
"Yeah...." Isabella nodded.
Both of them decided to walk out of the office room. Before they could take a step forward, the secretary rushed in with a panicked face.
"Madam...your child...."
The secretary looked so panicked and was breathing heavily she couldn't finish her sentence and started to gasp for air. She simply rushed forward and dragged Isabella out.
With the secretary acting so odd, Isabella felt something was not good and she ran towards the waiting room but she didn't find anyone inside.
"Where's my child? What happened to her?" Isabella looked back at the secretary who was still breathing heavily.
"Your child..." the secretary took a few deep breaths to calm her completely and said in a hoarse voice.
"After you left to meet with the boss, there's another person who wanted to meet with him. So I sent him into the waiting room since you're with the boss. I don't know what happened inside but after a few minutes he walked out with your child in his arms. I was looking after my work and didn't realize at first but later when I noticed him and tried to catch up to him, I couldn't reach him since he's faster than me and he already took the elevator down. So I ran back to look for you"
Isabella turned to look at her senior from her university, Paul Bernard. That person caught her line of thoughts with a single look from her. He immediately called his security team to check the surveillance footage.
Isabella and Paul ran down to the security room and checked the footage from the camera near the waiting room.
They both saw the girl child walking into the waiting room all by herself and after about two minutes they saw a man dressed in a grey suit walk into the same room. The secretary screamed right on the same second when his face was seen on the screen "That man... That's the man"
Isabella felt her heart racing madly on seeing the man's face and she instantly balled her fingers into tight fists. She tightened her fists so much that her fingers turned completely white with no trace of blood.
But the man next to Isabella sighed in relief because he knew the man very well and can contact him to know about the details of the child's location.
He turned to look at Isabella who seemed pale with her brows furrowed deeply. He mustered a little courage to tap on her shoulder and said calmly "Isabella...I know that person. Don't worry. I'll call him right now"
As he said, he immediately tapped on his mobile screen and placed it near his ear.
The call didn't connect even after a long time and at last, the call ended. So, Paul tried calling the same number again and put it on speaker mode.
The call connected after a long time and a low hoarse voice sounded front the other side.
"Hello..."
"Hello... Rick... " Paul said unhurriedly.
"Tell me...Paul. I heard you're having a meeting with someone. Are you done already?" the man on the other side questioned in a calm voice.
Paul Bernard tried his best to keep his words minimal and also appropriate. Though the other person was his friend he didn't want to offend him by talking inappropriately without knowing what happened.
"Rick, No. I'm not done but I'm calling to ask about the child with you. She's the child of the person I'm with now. I heard....." but before he could continue
"Oh. It's like this. I saw the child seated alone in the waiting room. So I brought her out to have some fun" the man on the other side said nonchalantly.
Hearing the words all the people in the security room sighed in relief. But Isabella wasn't relaxed at all.
She didn't understand in these days which kind of man would bother looking after other people's daughter and take her out simply to have some fun.
'This man must've got some other intentions to approach my baby' Isabella thought and she wanted to see the man face to face and question him directly for taking her daughter out on his own without her permission.
"Oh... Sorry.....the child's mother was worried...." Paul said his sincere apologies and wanted to ask about his location but didn't bring up those words immediately out of his mouth. He simply looked at Isabella for her opinion.
Isabella strongly believed her daughter would never let a stranger approach her. If not for that man's tricks to lure her daughter using something, she wouldn't follow a stranger.
She wanted to see her daughter immediately. So she opened her mouth to ask the man on the other side of the call but just then a sweet childish voice ringed from the Mobile's speaker.
"Mommy...?"
"Baby.....where are you? Why did you go out without telling me?" Isabella asked in a worried tone and also decided to teach her child a serious lesson later.
"Mommy... I'm sorry" the child said and the call got ended abruptly.
Isabella was so worried she immediately grabbed the mobile from her senior's hand. Before she could call the number a video call came from that person.
"Baby...." Isabella said in a worried tone looking at her child's face.
"Mommy.....See I'm completely alright" the child said calmly and moved the mobile to her side showing a man's profile on the screen while speaking "This uncle next to me looks too good. I think he can fill my father's place. What do you say?"
