Chereads / The Killer Bunny / Chapter 6 - six

Chapter 6 - six

Yoongi sat on the opposite side of the room, writing small music notes on the lined paper in front of him. The smile that was etched on his face was filled with true happiness. His eyes shone with freedom, finally feeling as if he could spread his wings.

The melody slowly began to come together, piece by piece. Daeun skipped into the room, her pigtails bouncing around. She kneeled down beside her older brother, staring at the paper in front of him.

She gasped softly as she tugged the sleeve of his shirt. Yoongi peeked a glance at his little sister with a questioning gaze. Her eyes were wide as her forefinger pointed down at the sheet music. Yoongi place his finger over her mouth, telling her to keep quite.

The sound of the front door slam shut startled both of the kids. Daeun helped Yoongi hide the paper before tugging out some markers, crayons, and paper for them to color. Their mother wandered in to the room.

Her movements were hurried. She grabbed both Yoongi and Daeun's by their biceps before tugging them off of the ground. "C'mon, we're leaving," She hurried the two of them to their rooms to pack as much of their stuff as they could into their small suitcases. Once they were done they met their mother back in the family room, waiting for their next order.

"Mama, where are we going?" Yoongi questioned his mother as she dragged them to the car. Their mother stayed quiet. Anxiousness crept into Daeun's small body. Before Daeun could get shoved out the door, she tore herself out of her mothers grip.

Swinging the small cabinet door open, Daeun grabbed the sheet of music that Yoongi was previously writing on. She ran back to her mothers side. They helped their mother stuff the truck with their belonging before hopping into the vehicle.

Yoongi tightly clenched Daeun's hand as their mother swerved out of their driveway. Daeun eventually fell asleep, her head resting on her brother's shoulder. Yoongi was wide awake as he stared out off the window, eyeing the beautiful scenery of dust in the city.

He was in awe at the way the street lights illuminated the world throughout the night.

Daeun groaned in her sleep as her face contorted in pain. Yoongi hummed softly in her ear, hoping to calm her. His hand moved from her hand to petting her head. Daeun whimpered softly in her sleep. Their mothers eyes lingered over to her, a worried expression washed over her face. Yoongi hadn't noticed.

His soft humming soon filled he silent car. The brand new melody that he was working on earlier, flowing out, coming together piece by piece. After roughly five hours of driving, they finally arrived to a small wooden cabin on the outskirts of the city. Yoongi shook Daeun awake. She rubbed her eyes with her knuckles. "Leave the bags for now," Their mother mumbled.

She reached down to pick up Daeun, who could barely keep her eyes open. Yoongi held on tightly to his mothers free hand. She guided them into the small cabin. Darkness consumed the entire cabin, not an inch of light shone through the darkness. Loud clapping filled the hair making Yoongi and their mother jump. Daeun was still sound asleep. "You really thought that it was going to work?" A deep voice chuckled from the depths of the darkness.

Yoongi hid behind his mothers leg, trembling in fear. A hand shot out in the dark. Their mother went to dodge but it was too late. Daeun whaling filled the air. "Give her back," Yoongi screamed as the tears pooled in his eyes. His mother held him back, an emotionless expression plastered on her face as the lights were switched on. "Give Mini back to me!" Yoongi screamed as he trashed around in his mothers arms. "Please?" He begged.

"Is she enough for you?" Both Yoongi and Daeun stared at their mother in disbelief.

"Oh?" Yeong tilted his head at his wife. He looked down at his daughter, taunting eyes that couldn't meet hers. Daeun's arms were outstretched towards Yoongi who was trying his best to get his sister back from the man that he presumed was a horrid monster. "What are you suggesting?"

Yoongi tore at his mothers hands, wanting nothing more than to get them off of him. "Leave me and my son be and I'll allow you to leave with Daeun. I won't bother you. We'll both live peacefully with our respected children," Her offer stung Yoongi.

"NO! Don't take Mini away from me! Give her back to me!" Yoongi screamed.

"Yoo-yoo! Don't leave me, Yoon!" Her tears stained her face as she watched her father nod his head in agreement to their mothers terms. "NO!" Yoongi and Daeun shouted. They walked past each other, Daeun towards the exited, being dragged but her father; and Yoongi deeper inside the cabin, also being dragged. They were able to momentarily lock hands.

"I'll find you Mini! I promis-" Yoongi was ripped away from Daeun. Jaemin trashed, clawing at her fathers skin to be released. They both hollered for each other, never having to be separated; especially like this.

Daeun sat on Jeongguk's couch with distant eyes. Yoongi had left around an hour ago. Taehyung had just left, knowing that Daeun needed some time to herself to comprehend everything that had just happened.

Jeongguk kneeled down in front of Daeun. Daeun looked at him. "Hey," He whispered to her softly. His fingertips traced over her cheek before cupping her cheek gently, his thumb brushing over her cheekbone. "You want me to make you something to eat?" Daeun stared at Jeongguk.

Jeongguk tilted his head softly. Daeun's hand shakily reached out to grab Jeongguk's face. He raised a brow at her as he maintained eye contact with her. She gently tugged his head towards herself as she moved her own closer to his. Her lips met his gently. Both of their eyes were still wide open. Daeun was looking for her permission to continue. Jeongguk allowed his eyes to flutter shut and place his lips fully against Daeun's. Jaemin followed his lead, kissing him with everything she had.

Her hands slipped off of his cheeks, down to the back of his neck and around to his chest where she fisted his shirt. Jeongguk gently stood Daeun up with him. His hands moved to the back of her thighs before lifting her up. Daeun, without hesitation, wrapped her legs around Jeongguk's waist. He sat back down on the couch. His hands tangled themselves in Daeun's hair.

His tongue prided her lips apart. His eyes opened only to notice that Daeun was crying. Jeongguk gently pulled away from her. "Hey, why don't I make you something to eat?" Jeongguk questioned as he caressed her cheek.

Daeun nodded her head. Jeongguk helped Daeun off of him. He gently pushed her so that she was laying down. He clicked the television on while turning on Daeun's favorite show. He kneeled down in front of her briefly to place a quick peck on her forehead before making his way towards the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Daeun giggled as she watched the show. Everytime a giggle would escape from Daeun, Jeongguk would stare at her for a moment with a wide smile plastered on his face. Once dinner was prepared, Jeongguk moved everything over to the small coffee table that sat in front of the couch. Daeun looked at Jeongguk, watching him as he set up.

When Jeongguk went to walk past Daeun again she grabbed onto his sleeve, stopping him. Jeongguk paused, waiting for her. Daeun pulled herself to her feet. She simply stared at Jeongguk who raised a brow at her. "What?"

Daeun smiled softly before grabbing the back of Jeongguk's head, tugging him downwards. "Don't leave me," Daeun mumbled.

Jeongguk nudged his head against hers, making her look at him with wide eyes. "I'm not going anywhere," he whispered to her before his lips met hers in a gentle kiss. Jeongguk's fingers slid underneath Daeun's shirt making her shiver at the sensation of his freezing fingertips against her ablaze skin.

"Jeongguk," His name escaped her mouth in a whimper as he pulled away from him. He hummed towards her as a response.

When Daeun didn't answer, Jeongguk completely pulled away from her. "Eat before the food gets cold," Jeongguk's words left in a mumble as he pecked her once.

Twice.

Three more times.

Daeun broke into a smile as she nodded her head. Jeongguk removed his hand from her body before making his way back to the kitchen to grab something for them to drink.

They chatted the night away, helping Daeun's mind wander away from the thoughts of her past. She doubled over laughing. Jeongguk admired her.

He loved the way she smiled, lit up the entire room. He loved the way her hair would dance on her shoulders as her body shook from laughing too hard. Once Daeun sobered up her laughing Jeongguk reached over and grabbed her chin.

Daeun looked shocked but quickly sent him a questioning look. Jeongguk smiled at her. "What's up?" Jeongguk shrugged.

Daeun was genuinely confused.

"You've made me promise, so I need you to promise me," Jeongguk whispered. Daeun turned her body completely towards him. She nudged her head, ushering him to continue. "Stay with me. Even if whatever it is that we are fails. Don't leave me, either."

Daeun smiled at him. "I promise."
