The next 2 days went by really quickly as expected and with that we are back at Mr Aether's office doing the signing ceremony, everyone was so excited for this collaboration to happen between the 2 and my marketing team did all the hard work with that i let them enjoy the remaining 4 days here in London doing whatever they want to do while Ethan and I continued to explore London ourselves .
At the end of the 4 days everyone gathered at the airport and got ready to head back to Paris for real now , with our luggages being really heavy and stuffed with snacks and souvenirs. No surprise there. Ethan flew back to the States of course I can't have him coming back with me to Paris .
The flight back to SG was relatively well and not much turbulence i suppose , with that when we exited the arrival halls with more shopping due to the duty free the Marketing team thanked me for spending so much on them that everyone went back in different directions .
"Ms Wong the car is ready for you " , Pram said while taking the shit load of luggage I have , " Let's go to the hospital first " i said . Pram nodded his head and told the driver to go to the hospital first before going home .
When we got to the hospital Pram took me to the ICU Unit. I stood outside the glass window and looked at him with so many machines attached to him .
"Ms Wong?" The doctor called out my name, I turned around to see a doctor standing there signing some documents, I nodded my head and he approached me . " Shall we talk in my office?" he asked , i nodded my head and followed him to his doctor's office . I took a seat while Pram stood behind me
"Ms Wong, i expected to see you when your father came in last week, " the doctor said . I looked at him with my arms crossed. " My work is important to me " I shot back .
"Well your fathers condition is not very good to begin with , we were able to catch this Heart attack but next time he wouldn't be so lucky anymore. I understand that your father is a politician? Am I right ? " Asked the doctor
"From what I understand , not there yet but he is still the owner of his own company." i replied , " i see but this heart attack was rather random i feel , but of course we will still have to monitor his condition for the next few days, it is very crucial at this moment. " he replied.
I nodded my head and thanked him . Pram guided me out the door and from there we went back to the ICU Unit and took a good look at my father . " Should I do this Pram?" I asked and looked at him .
"Ms Wong, your father's company is also facing losses greatly , i think you should merge it " Pram suggested and tapped my shoulder before letting out a sigh .
I nodded my head and went back home from there planning the paperwork and merging papers, i probably slept at like 3am making Pram constantly nag at me but yeah Pram didn't want to leave me alone at night so he helped a little and brought me snacks from time to time .
The Next day
I heard my doorbell going nuts all of a sudden , I shot up from bed and took a good look out the window to find my Dad's assistant here at like 12pm! Wow, I really slept in well , Pram dashed into the room and informed me about it and I just told him to let her in since I have things to discuss with her as well and to entertain her while I get ready.
15 minutes went by and I came down from the 3rd floor and to the living room and to see her sitting there all anxious and nervous like I was going to eat her up for dinner like come on , do i look that bad?
" Why are you destroying your father's company?" Emma exclaimed , i sat down and looked at her with my eyebrows raised
"In what terms ? " I replied while drinking my coffee , " You are merging your father's hard work over so many years, his efforts are going to go down the drain ! " Emma exclaimed once more
" Emma , listen - " I said and she cut me off. " I get that you and your father do not get along , but you cannot just destroy his beloved company! Even though we are at the brink of having many losses , I cannot afford to see his efforts go down in vain just because of a heart attack!"
"Could you just shut up please ? I'm trying to talk and it isn't very nice to cut in when people are talking , my father just had a heart attack. Do you think I want to do this? With my father away from office and laying in the hospital like he is about to die anytime soon do you think i have a choice? " I replied nicely .
"Whether you like it or not , this merger is going to happen , with or without you . If you are so loyal to my father then I suggest you resign, I can always find someone else to do your job for you . If that's all I still have work to do , see yourself out . " i said and stood up and walk away
I got into my home office and stayed in there until Pram informed me about the people I had to interview today. They had just arrived outside in the living room. I quickly changed into something nice and told Pram to let them up to the home office one by one.
Pram let them enter the room and I let them have a seat in front of me on the sofa .
"Draken ? Am I right? " I asked while looking at the resume . He replied a simple yes , I nodded my head " Nice head tattoo , did it hurt ? " I asked.
"Yeap " he replied , hmmm so far quite with not much to talk about nice i like him . okay not much experience but the job is pretty simple though just be my bodyguard.
"So you were in a gang?" I asked , and looked at him and tossed the file aside.
"Yes mdm " he replied.
"Okay the job is pretty simple , Protect me at all cost, you are supposed to stay at my house 24/7 , off days can be 1-2 days a week if you like . When my kid comes out of my body , I have to protect or look after it too . Basically anyone that looks like can kill me. You have to put your life on the line , I'm paying you 5.5k A month .
"Understood , Mdm … uhhh Kid? " Draken questioned , I nodded my head and pointed to my belly " I'm 2 months pregnant . " he nodded his head .
"So , if there isn't any issue you can start work tomorrow and sign the contract, '' I said while placing the contact on the table for him to sign , and he really did sign the contract amazing , i shook his hand and told him he can move in today or tomorrow up to his preference and gave him one copy of the contact as well . i see him out of the room and Pram took it from there,
Pram brought in the next guy and he was relatively smaller like around my size, a 167 height woman , cause Draken was 180 in height and that's really tall for me . i told the next candidate to take a seat and explained everything again and yes he signed the contact too ,
"Charlie , Surely you can make Draken open up to me too haha , seems you are the cheery type of person " i joked while he signed the paper,
"Ahh but when it comes to protecting people I tend to be very serious but when it comes to friends , family I may be a cheery kind so I will try my best Mdm ." he said and placed the pen down on the table .
I shook hands with him and saw him out and told him the same as what I told Draken, either move in tomorrow or today is fine with me. He nodded his head and told me he will move in tonight which is great.
The next few people were a blur but I managed to hire a set of twins and they were very charming as well. The next person, Baji , seemed really interesting and he immediately signed the contract without me saying another word .
"Baji , is there a reason why you say yes to the job immediately? " I asked curiously ?
"Charlie told me I need to get a job, so we applied for this Bodyguard job and since he took it I have to of course . " He replied ASAP
I nodded my head and thanked him for joining the team . I told Pram to see him out while I continued to settle the paper for the merger . Pram also brought me dinner and snacks for me and gave me my supplements since I have such a weak immune system , that concludes my whole day until the phone rang.
"Hello is this Ms Stella Wong " said the person ,
" Yes hi , how may I help you?" i asked in return
"This is your fathers doctor at the hospital, i just want to let you know , your father had another episode of a Heart attack , we were able to control it but my suggestion is for you to say your last few words to him if any case he passes on . '' Said the doctor .
"Oh i see , thank you " that was all i said and ended the call from there. Not really knowing what to do at the moment. Just staring into space .
