After breakfast was done , Pram helped the boys get fitted into their suits as well as teach them how to use the equipment , while I got ready for the day by simply taking a nice warm shower for starters . I stepped out of the bathtub and looked at myself in the mirror. Woah my tummy has been growing every single day cant let anyone else find out about it .
So i next i made my way to my wardrobe and picked out a plain black dress that it just nice hits my shin, my make up was rather heavy today more Eyeliner and less eyeshadow , once i was done i took my stuff and shoved it into my bag then headed downstairs to the living room to see 5 of them all suited up and ready to go .
Baji's jaw dropped when I came down the stairs , Charlie had to push it back up .
"Never seen a pretty woman before Baji? " i questioned as i put on my earrings
" NO! I mean uhmmm " Baji hesitated…
"Haha it's okay , just don't stare too often okay , i'll get shy " I jokingly said , before passing the keys to Draken " You're going to drive today . Pram has already parked the car in front so let's get going .
Draken and Charlie sat in the front of the car while I was squeezed between one of the twins and Baji , the other one sat behind us. During the whole car ride I was busy playing with my Ipad paying no attention to our surroundings and not even realising we have already reached my dad's company basement.
Draken parked the car and everyone got out. I was greeted by his higher management team at the lift which made Draken and Charlie step forward blocking my view of them and continued walking into the lift and everybody else followed behind.
In the lift ….
" Ms Stella, it has been 6 years we have seen you , this merger can you not make it happen by any chance " Mr Wu said as he squeezed between Baji and Shane, the eldest twin .
I held up my hand in front of him and he immediately stopped talking " DING" the elevator doors opened , everyone stepped out and i walked into my fathers office and sat down in his chair looking at his duty table , i rolled the chair to face the window of the city which didn't have much of a view but it was acceptable i suppose… The boys started clearing out my fathers file cabinet, placing them in boxes and even cleared out his desk drawers . Draken handed me a photo he found in the drawer , I thanked him and took it from it to my surprise it was the 3 of us .
Me , Mom and Dad the first time we went on holiday together before my father cheated on my mother …
* Flashback *
"MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY! '' Little me yelled as I ran into my mothers arms , she caught me and fell down onto the grass with me on top of her embracing her tight hug. And my Dad came rushing to us and hugging us in the most awkward position that he can be in .
Dad carried me and threw me up in the air, it felt like I was flying . With my giggles filling the atmosphere everything was so perfect , Dad set the camera on timer and took the picture of the 3 of us sitting on the grass of that amazing Garden we had before we moved into another house bigger and lonelier ….
"What do you mean you want to divorce?!" My mother yelled at the top lungs , i was the little kid that did not like to sleep alone even though my dad said it was for my own good , i stood by their door and continued to hear them argue
"6 Months is all I'm giving you to leave and find your own apartment to stay in." My dad replied and slammed the drawers
"Are you seeing someone else?" my mother asked.
" If you must know , yes i am . " he replied
" Then who will take care of Stella ?" my mother questioned my father.
"Will take turns , she can have you during the weekdays , i'll see her on the weekends" he replied in frustration , " just sign the papers and we can get it over and done with, i will still continue to pay you the money you need monthly . " he said.
"Tommy, I'm dying. " my mother spoke…
*End of flashback*
" Mam… Mam" Draken said while tapping my shoulder
"Uh huh?" I looked at him snapping out of my thoughts.
"The Board is ready for you . " Draken said and he handed my my Ipad
"Right at the board meeting , uhm just continue packing the files , Baji, follow me into the meeting room thanks " i said and stood up walked away with my hands in my pocket and Baji holding on to the Ipad for me.
I entered the meeting room and all of a sudden the board stood up and bowed. I just sat down on the chair Baji was standing behind me then he handed me the Ipad .
"Is it necessary to have someone else in the meeting Ms Stella?" questioned the Head of Marketing Mdm Liu
"He's my bodyguard , and it's Ms Wong to you Mdm Liu . but yes he is needed here in my presence if any of you have any issue talk to me . ``I sternly replied to her and tossed the ipad on the table.
Everyone faces turned black when i shot back my reply
"This merger is complete unnecessary , your father's company is holding up very well even though he's not here physically " Head of finance Mr Qiu said
Everyone else just nodded their head agreeing to what Mr Qiu just said.
"Like I told that bitch Emma , This merger will happen with or with you people on the board . looking at my father's condition he isn't going to get better soon so you guys better pray he doesn't die in the next 48 hours ." i said
"But merging both company's would mean that you will be the most powerful woman in the Business world . " Head of Legal department Mr Phil said
"Yes I am aware of that. Despite my company already earning Millions every month , merging with my father's company would make my profit rise higher than my current . " I replied.
"Then i shall hand in my resignation letter first thing tomorrow morning , Ms Wong " Head of HR stood up and bowed at me before sitting back down
"Alright , see it's simple , if you guys don't wanna work for me feel free to leave there will always be people smarter , better and more capable of taking your jobs . ``I said and stood up .
" This merger will happen tomorrow at noon at my company. Feel free to come and have a look around. This message must be passed down to all staff of this company by the way. If anyone wants to resign from their current position because of this merger , I expect to see all resignation letters by tomorrow 11:59 AM on my desk . " i stood up and walked out of the door to see the boys had already finished packing up my fathers office.
Before I could even say another word someone called my name from behind.
"Ms Wong! , Ms Wong! , Ms Wong!"
I turned around to see a guy that looked like an intern in the company running up to me .
"May I help you ?" I questioned .
"I am Aaron, an intern at the Law department. I was wondering if you are saying this Merger will happen, what will happen to the interns that are currently distributed everywhere in the company?" Aaron asked.
" Follow me ," i said , " Boys bring the boxes down to the car , Baji and Draken stay with me" i instructed them and they nodded their heads and did as they are told , i signal the boy to follow me into my dad's office , he sat on the chair opposite my chair and with Baji and Draken standing by the door.
"I understand your concern about the internship at hand," I said .
"Well as far as i know , there are 10 interns in total " Aaron said.
"I see. Taking degree's?" I asked.
"Yes mam" he replied and looked down
"I see , could I have you do me a favour? I mean it doesn't cost much . Round up the interns and be at my company tomorrow for the Merger . I will personally talk to each of you after the merger ceremony is over. Could you do that?" i asked
"Yes , of course . " he replied
"Great , you may go, " I said.
"Thank you for your time Ms Wong " Aaron said and bowed slightly before leaving
I turned around to face the window and let out a long sigh before standing up and leaning against the window .
"Is there something wrong Mam?" Draken asked
"I'm tired, i can't feel my legs " i replied
Baji then came in front of me and squatted down tapping his shoulders wanting me to get on his back . i laughed and got him to stand up and told him it will be weird to do that in a office we can do that when we are out in the mall or somewhere else but in the office is a no no . he smiled slightly but of course i thanked him for his offer before heading down to the carpark to head home.
When we got home Pram rushed over to me and trying to get the news out but he isn't giving me anything so i sat on the couch and waited for him to speak
"Your father is making recovery! " Pram exclaimed
My eyes widened up and looked dead at Pram and tilted my head slightly .
"Are you sure?" i asked
"Yes! , the doctor called and said his recovery is remarkable like it happened overnight after you visited him!
"That's a surprise , call the doctor and tell him not to leak out this information to anyone else. I still want this merger to happen tomorrow " I said and headed back to my room .
" Yes Mi Lady " Pram replied and scurried off to make that phone call on my behalf . I still can't believe it with my own ears , after I visited my father he is finally making recovery . Like, what was he on the edge of entering the lights until he heard my voice? …. This is just too awfully strange
