The next morning
I woke up to the sun shining onto my face like a lightbulb , i opened my eyes adjusting to the light to only know i am still in my yesterday's dress awfully weird i sat up and switched on the TV got some coffee ready and ordered room service .
When the food came i i placed it on the bed and slowly ate to my heart's content all of a sudden i got a call .
" Damien Lim / KKP "
Oh goodness!
Me: Hello ?
Damien: Hi Ms Stella , I'm already at the conference. Are you coming down soon ? or should i go up ?
Me: Uh… Mr Damien , it's only 10 am , Mine starts at 11 am . Did you get the time right?
Damien: Ohh , so will you come down earlier to watch me talk ?
Me: I might , I'm having breakfast in bed .
Damien: awww im jealous! I can't wait to see you!
Me: haha Sure?
I ended the call with a smile on my face , quickly gobble up the food took a shower dressed up in my suit put on my makeup and heels and out the door i went , i went to the 2nd floor and asked if Damien Lim is presenting and yeah they gave me my pass and a goodie bag and told me Damien is in room 5 presenting now.
I walked into the room and saw him presenting. I took a seat at the back listening to him talk about him and his company and their future plans . At the end of his presentation he looked at me with bright smiles on his face. I stood up and applauded him which made him very happy .
I walked to him after everyone was done crowding around him , everyone gave us space and left so it was just us in the room . " Hi , that was an amazing presentation " I said , " I thought you wouldn't come but when i saw you entering the room , i was so shocked and happy , Thank you! " He said as he pulled me in for a hug .
" Its almost your turn to present , i'll catch up with you okay" He gave me a peck on the cheek while i stood there and smiled . i exited the room and went to the function hall and gathered all of my knowledge and my whatever remaining strength i have and put on my mic and went up on stage.
" Wow what a wonderful crowd we have today! " . . . As I continued my presentation and gave my thoughts on the world of business and the Economy at the corner of my eye i saw Damien taking a seat around the last few rows. I smiled and joked a little before talking a bit more about my company and my visions for the company .
Once I was done with my 1.5 hour presentation I stepped down from the stage and received tons of questions from younger people woah overwhelming responses. I had to head back up on stage to answer every single question leaving poor Damien behind and finally i was done answering all the questions and Damien approached me gave me a hug and congratulated me ,
"I love the way you presented it there " He said after releasing me from the hug . " Well I could use some food right now , do you want to grab lunch together? " I said while packing my stuff.
" YES! PLEASE! " he exclaimed like a happy little puppy. He got the car ready and upon our arrival I told his assistant the address of the cafe i love to visit and from there in the entire car ride we talked about his presentation and when we arrived at the cafe we entered and i ordered for 4 people.
I sat down and started talking to Damien all over again and when the food came just nice he all of us were starving. I had salads and sandwiches with Milk tea on the side for everyone , everyone thanked me for the meal and started the munch on it .
"Your presentation is spectacular. I have never seen anything like it !" Damien said he munched on his salad , i took a bite out of it and said " Well when you have been solo all your life you tend to improve more without the help of anyone , especially family "
"I notice , I've told you about my family and friends , may I know yours? If you are comfortable of course, " he said .
I sighed took in a deep breathe and spoke
" Well My family is a little broken in terms of my dad cheated on my mom , mom died of cancer . Solo child , I grew up with the housekeeping team and moved out, lived on my own, studied all on my own and here I am at the age of 26 number 1 in the country and top 3 in the world. " I said with a smile and looking back at my food .
He took his clean and lifted my chin up. My eyes met his eyes. He smiled so gently and said " I know you come from a broken family , but I want you to be mine so you will feel loved . You are the most amazing woman I have ever met in my life. Can I ask if we can start dating? "
"Despite living thousands of miles apart ? Can you cope ? " I said . " Yes I can I'll fly to you , or you can fly to me we can make things work , Stella let's give it a shot alright ? " he said with confidence , i smiled at his answer and from there on we started dating like love birds .
He told his staff to pick up when he calls so yeah from there we went on dates playing arcade games , visiting a museum, made fun of each other as we got to know each other i realise he isn't that bad .
He's got a great sense of humour and pretty cute i would say , despite him only being the director recently he still has lots to learn in the working world of business i hope this doesn't affect anything between us .
Even during dinner he was so eager to try smelly tofu again and we went back to the same restaurant to try it all over again. Even the lady there recognised us and welcomed it and I told her I want the same thing as we ordered before . So we sat down and the food came to us. I just sat there and watched him eat tofu okay. Before that I made sure he ate the mushrooms first then the tofu . but still his face can't take it .
"You don't have to eat it for my sake Damien , if you can't handle the fermented taste don't force yourself " i said while taking a big bite out of it . " No NO NO , I want to do it and I want to be asian like you too, not just some ABC . "
" You are not an ABC I mean you are but , just because I like Smelly Tofu you don't have too HAHAHA , wow but I am impressed that you still wanna try and that's good enough for me . ``I said as I graced my hand over his cheek .
We enjoyed our dinner and from there we are almost done with our date. We discussed our work life schedule which doesn't seem to intercept mine and he sent me back to my hotel and waited for the lift to arrive .
"Uhm i'm leaving tomorrow night . . . I hope it doesn't affect you . " I said as he took my hands ' ' it doesn't, I have your number and your social media , don't worry about it just call me when you touch down okay . I'll plan my visit to you soon . " he said squeezing my hands a little
"I'll talk to you before I fly , right now I need to pack and thank you for everything you have done for me ." I placed my hand over his right cheek pulling him in for a kiss.
Our tongues intertwined with each other , I wrapped my arms around his neck with his arms around my waist pulling me closer to him . it felt like fireworks in my heart and everywhere omg i never felt something like that before
