I honestly didn't get much sleep from the night before, I look like a zombie in the morning and yes I have to get up at 6am to bring his body over to the church near the burial site . I quickly got up and bathed changed into the black dress I bought for the occasion. I put on my flats and went down to the living room to join the rest of them and have breakfast together.
Once everyone was done we stood by Damien's coffin and said our final goodbyes to him as the people of the church pushed his coffin into the hearse and drove it to the church . I got into Ethan's car and we drove off to the church .
"Have you prepared what to say ? " Ethan said , "i dont know… I'll figure something out to say" I said as I looked out the window .
Ethan took my hand and smiled as he pulled over "It's time to say goodbye to Damien… " Sighed… " This is the hardest part for everyone now Stella… here " Hands me a packet of tissue
I looked at Ethan with teary eyes and started crying straight away. I looked out the car and saw Damien's mother had already started crying… I nodded my head and we stepped out of the car and waited by the sidewalk as they took out the coffin from the hearse and pushed past us and into the church everyone just followed behind .
Everyone gathered in the reception room first while the coffin was getting ready , I spoke to some of the guests and yeah people have been asking me how have I been and when am i flying back which was rather odd , since I don't dare to answer Ethan has been the one answering them on my behalf.
I excused myself to the bathroom and settled myself. When I came out a young lady was standing by the door waiting for me , I excused myself and she stopped me from leaving.
"May I help you ? " I said. Looking at her from top to toe , with her blonde hair and blue eyes a little over 5 foot 5 .
"I'm Damien's Ex girlfriend. I just want to let you know, this is all your fault! You Killed Damien! " She screamed at me, which caused Ethan and Damien's mother to rush in to the bathroom after hearing that scream.
" You took Damien away from all of us! Don't you dare play victim! I have complete evidence that you sabotaged his car! " she exclaimed as she raised her hand and gave me a slap across the face . Leaving Ethan and Damien's mother in shock.
Everybody knows I live in Paris and when the Damien accident happened I was still in Paris. I looked at her , Ethan came rushing over to me and Damien's mom pulled her out of the toilet and into the hallway , i followed them out into the hall and there she stood right in front of me again looking at me cursing me everywhere .
" So what if you are the top Business Women CEO ! You were never fit to be Damien's Wife! You and Damien were never meant for each other! " she yelled at me once more.
I looked up at her with tears in my eyes pouring it out , she showed me no mercy, attacked me and pulled my hair and slapped even Ethan. Ethan looked at me and asked if i'm alright and if I wanted to call the cops.
"Amanda enough! " Ethan yelled back at her, causing her to stop . " Damien is laying there in his coffin watching everyone! And here you are accusing his girlfriend of murdering Damien? How foolish can you be! " Ethan yelled back at her again while hugging me .
"Amanda isn't it? , could you get your facts right before you accuse people can we start with that honey? I was in Paris for almost 2 years , and when Mr Lim called me about the accident I was still in my office doing paperwork , planning that 1 month Business trip in Europe and which part of me that caused the accident came into play?! " I said to her, raising my voice a little.
She looked up with her eyes widened. As the guards held her down, I walked up to her. I raised my hand and wanted to slap her but lowered my hand back to my waist. " You are not worth slapping, Damien wouldn't want that either . Just leave " I said and walked away .
The guards took her out of the building and Damien's parents came to comfort me and tell them they were sorry for inviting her and didn't know she would say this kind of stuff at the funeral. I told them it's alright and we can carry on with the funeral and apologised for the drama and delay .
Everyone then entered the Church and got seated while I went to the toilet to clean up my makeup and dry off my tears. When I was done I entered the church and sat beside Ethan in the front row . the first person to talk was Damien's parents both were sharing touching stories of Damien's childhood and the days where he was still playing in the mud , getting kicked in the football field , when it was Ethan's turn to talk he started off with when Damien first broke his ribs during a game then when Damien first got attached and ended up crying by the roadside .
"Damien was and forever will be my best friend, and when he first told me what happened in Taiwan when he met the famous CEO , he was fan girl like he had just met his favourite singer and i quote the first time he yelled on the phone to me " STELLA WONG IS AN AMAZING WOMEN! LIKE I JUST MET HER AND OMG I'M IN LOVE ETHAN , IN LOVE AFTER 6 YEARS OF BEING SINGLE I'M IN LOVE AGAIN!`` That's what he said when he first met Stella . Damien my man , ( looks over to him ) I promise you that I will take care of your parents and the love of your life Stella , please look after everyone and bless us with your pure heart and soul. I love you brother "
Ethan placed his hand on top of Damien's coffin and took in a deep breath and exhaled. Tapped on the coffin and placed a white rose on top and got off and handed it over to me, I got up and walked over. I looked over at Damien and tears started to form and drip .
I looked up at everyone and started giving my statement. " Damien and I first met in Taiwan …" that story dragged on for 5 minutes before I moved on to talking about his stay in Paris. "When Damien took a month of vacation and said he wanted to spend it in Paris i wasn't expecting him to adapt to the hot weather, and after a week he started to pick up the Paris lingo and really started to blend in with locals " it was indeed a funny story of how people kept saying he looks so local but sadly he doesn't understand Chinese but was learning .
I smiled at that story ended and looked over to Damien " i remember when he first cooked dinner for me when i was staying in the States for about 2 weeks i get homesick very easily and his mom taught him but he didn't listen and i still ate it and ended up in hospital 6 hours later he was crying over and over again it was hilarious and i remembered his mom came to visit when she got news and she nagged at him ."
"When I got the news that Damien got into an accident and passed away , I dropped everything I was doing in Paris and flew here straight away . Damien and I had been together for 4 years and tomorrow is actually our anniversary and I'm sorry but it's heartbreaking I know for everyone especially." Sobbing through some of my words
"Damien i don't know if you can see everyone here today but just know that everybody loves you especially me , i hope we can meet again in the future and get married one day " i said as i closed my eyes for a split second and opened them again and placed my rose on his coffin and joined back together with the family.
After saying prayers and singing hymns for Damien we walked out to the graveyard and as they lowered his coffin into the ground I broke down to the ground and threw my roses on top of his coffin. Ethan carried me and held me steady as they threw back the soil on top of his coffin.
At the end of everything everyone went back to the house and everyone just sat on the sofa still crying and sobbing ….
