The next few hours were a blur , i packed everything accordingly, got my stuff ready and yes gonna be at the airport by 6pm flying back to my own country . I tucked myself into bed and just wanted everything to go away for now.
The next day I got up for breakfast and had some really interesting food at the buffet spread. Since I have a late check out I just decided to chill a while longer until my ride to the airport is ready . the whole time after breakfast i was texting Damien , he seems to be not enjoying a day without me around. I sent him a few video messages just to enlighten his mood .
Hours went by and it was time to check out and head to the airport as planned. I called Damien on the phone the entire journey and assured him that I will be okay and I will call again once I touched down in Paris ,France . He seems annoyed that I have already started nagging at him but who knows what his childish acts could cost his company besides he still had loads to learn that's what worrying me now . . .
During the whole duration of my flight I made sure I was well rested and when I landed after doing my favourite thing duty free shopping hehehe ~ My butler Pram came to fetch me and during the whole duration of the car ride it felt so good to be home .
"Homesick Ms Wong? " Pram said as he drove on the highway, I nodded my head and enjoyed the view of the city , " Pram how is my dad?" I asked as silence dispersed in the entire car …
"Your dad did come by once and asked us where you were and I told him you were in Taiwan for the week and won't be back until next week . " Pram sighed
"Oh… did he look really sick ? " I questioned , Pram shook his head . " I'll visit him tomorrow once I'm awake, no questions asked, just let me talk to him ." I said . " Yes Ms Wong " he replied and when we finally reached home I entered the house with the smell of glorious food ! must be
"Mdm Tan made your favourite herbal chicken soup for your arrival home, she said she sent her apologies for not being able to greet you due to her … " Pram stopped halfway , i sat down on the chair and looked at him with my head tilted
" if it's Mahjong i understand i can't stop her plus she doesn't live with us , " i said while tearing the chicken apart .
I told Pram to rest so I can clean up afterwards . Oh no , I forgot to call Damien! I quickly called him and hoped he's not asleep yet …. But it's already midnight hopefully he's not asleep yet
Damien: Hi babe.
Me: Oh no sorry are you asleep ?
Damien: No, I was waiting for your call .
Me: I'm sorry I was busy , but I am home now so don't worry about me.
Damien: I was just thinking about you .
Me: Have you ?
Damien: Of course you are the most amazing woman I have ever met and I will stick to my word at all costs.
Me: Alright. When are you flying off?
Damien: I told you before , how can you forget ?
Me: I'm sorry come on , is it later in the day or something? Like a 4pm flight?
Damien: Oh that you remember .
Me: I'm sorry, okay , I have a lot on my mind.
Damien: It's a 15 hour flight to New York , tomorrow evening at 4pm I'm up in the skies.
Me: Right i see, okay you should rest we'll talk tomorrow.
Damien: Alright , i miss you already
Me: I know I miss you too .
Damien: I love you .
Me: I know , bye .
I ended the call and placed my phone face down . i am sensitive to people who say I love you so quickly like it is being said so frequently it holds no value now a days , i hope i didn't freak him out i just hope he can let me adjust to our current situation i mean who knows what he has been doing before i even met him , he could be a playboy for all i know .
I shrugged that thought away and quickly finished my food , washed everything and went straight to my room to unpack everything and just slept … must be the food coma …
The next day I woke up at 10 am, I quickly went to take a quick shower and headed down to the kitchen to eat breakfast made by Mdm Tan herself. She greeted me with all smiles and prepared my favourite porridge with kueh on the sides for me as well as my coffee black . Once I was done I told Pram I'm heading out and he handed me the keys to the car and I drove off to my dad's place .
When I got there I took a look at my phone to see Damien spam texted me a lot of things. I just left him on double tick and ignored it. I entered my fathers estate to be greeted by his household team that still remembers me. I gave them the goodies from Taiwan to share with the rest of the team . Soon my father came down .
"Father, " Sternly I said as I took a seat on the sofa , " Well well , isn't it my precious daughter Stella , what do I owe this visit of yours ? I heard that you were in Taiwan for the entire week. Why are you back so soon ?" he questioned me it feels like an interrogation all over again
"I heard from my staff that you were looking for me so i decided to come visit you , if you do not wish to see me i can take my leave now " i said
"Stella , quit being a Boss Women and settle down , start a family " he said without looking at me . I was disbelieving this conversation again .
"Father, Like i said i won't do it and besides i am happy the way things are now " trying not to get mad is one thing but handling this conversation isn't always the best
"I am worried about your health physically and mentally , you are not normal " raising his voice a little , as if he is worried for me i highly doubt so …
"I am not normal? In what terms father ?" I questioned him with my eyebrows raised and my arms crossed .
"You faint when you are overworked. Is that considered normal ? look for my sake please step down and live a normal life will you ? " he sighed as he placed his tea cup back on the table. He seemed worried but I know that's a lie for sure .
"You know I wanted to make you proud , being the Number one in the country , top 3 in the world and still holding on to that title by the way . but the thing is you will never be proud of what I have done , I've always been by myself all these years with no one to lean on and no support from family. Why ? MOM'S DEAD! You are busy being a CEO yourself ! I worked hard to get into a good university and guess what the money didn't come from you, not a single penny I paid for it all by myself and look at where I am now ? Top of the world buying and helping companies stay alive . " I raised my voice and sat back down again trying to compose myself .
"Stella, you don't have to yell i am right here , and i know you resent me because of how i neglected your mother and you but believe me i am a changed man , i really am a different person now " he said calmly
I shook my head in response and took the pasty that was offered to me on the table and ate it i place it back on the table and looked at him again .
"I heard you challenged Mr Ho. Is that true? " he said, looking at me with his eyebrow raised a little . I sighed and replied '' His company is going to fall in a year , I am just lending him a helping hand if he can't see that for himself it's his loss and it is not a challenge . "
