Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight

Sarise slowly wrung the water from her hair, switching off the shower and stepping out, wrapping a towel around her before she headed into her bedroom.

Marie, her personal servant smiled at her as she exited the bathroom, dusting the shelves within the room as Sarise headed to the massive walk in wardrobe, pulling it open and walking to the drawers at the end.

After choosing a simple white bra and underwear set, she walked down the endless racks of clothing, inspecting various pieces out until she decided on a chic white chiffon shirt and black pants.

Grabbing a pair of white high heels, she walked back into the bedroom, sitting on the ottoman at the end of the bed as she slipped them onto her feet.

"You look lovely this morning Luna." Marie stated as Sarise stood, pulling her fingers through her wet hair.

"Sarise." Sarise stated, smiling at the girl as she fluffed her hair slightly. "Remember I'm not Luna yet." The girl blushed.

"Forgive me." She said lightly "My mother told me to be polite and not be disrespectful."

"You're new?" Sarise asked. The girl nodded and Sarise smiled. "It's probably why you've been assigned to me then." She laughed lightly.

"I doubt there's anything you could say or do that would shock me." Sarise added, winking at the girl. "I'm probably the most disrespectful person you can find."

"You won't tell the Alpha if I'm disrespectful?" Marie breathed and Sarise snorted.

"Trust me, he'll be too busy concentrating on me being disrespectful to worry about anyone else."

Marie laughed lightly, stripping the bed as a knock sounded on the door.

Sarise turned to see Jacob walking into the room.

"Good morning." He called, flicking his jacket open as he pushed his hands into his pants pockets, looking over Sarise slowly.

"I was unsure if you knew where the dining room was." He added, looking at her before glancing at the girl in the room who stood looking at him with wide eyes.

"This is Marie." Sarise stated "Marie is this Jacob."

"Alpha." The girl said in a shuddering breath, bowing to him.

"Good morning Marie." Jacob said and Sarise swore the girl nearly fainted.

"I'm surprised you didn't send Donovan to escort me." She stated, turning to him and Jacob tilted his head lightly.

"Am I not allowed to accompany my mate to breakfast?" He questioned and Sarise rolled her eyes.

"Sarise." He growled gently.

"Let's go then." She answered, walking across the room. "I'm famished."

He inclined his head, waving his hand towards the door and glancing at Marie.

"A pleasure to meet you." He added, walking out behind Sarise.

He walked up beside her, placing his right hand at the small of her back as he led her down the corridor.

"I think you gave that poor girl a heart attack." Sarise laughed and Jacob grunted.

"I nearly had heart attack I had when I saw what you are wearing." Jacob growled, looking over at her and Sarise frowned at him.

"Meaning?" She demanded and his right hand flicked around, stopping her as he pushed her against the wall, pinning her against it with his body.

"The thought of any man seeing my mates' underwear does nothing to sooth my temper." He growled, his eyes flashing lavender as he looked down at her shirt. "Next time wear a top underneath this shirt so I no one can see your bra."

"Temper, temper." She whispered as she felt him pressing against her thigh, hot and demanding and she felt her wolf dancing in circles.

"𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘶𝘴!" Her wolf demanded. "𝘏𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘶𝘴."

She heard Jacob chuckle and he reached down, brushing his lips against her neck where he would eventually mark her, sucking the skin lightly before he took a step back, running his hand through his hair as his eyes returned to their normal light green.

"Breakfast." He said absently, buttoning up his jacket and holding out his arm to her.

Sarise nodded lightly, pushing herself off the wall and wrapping her arm in his, her legs weak from the brief encounter.

God she was horny.

She wanted this man more than she'd wanted anyone before.

She frowned lightly, wondering why she was unable to control the urge to throw him against the wall and have her way with him.

She heard a chuckle beside her, glancing over to see Jacob looking at her with amused eyes.

"Something funny?" She snapped as they walked into the main corridor towards the staircase.

"No." He answered as they walked down the stairs, "Nothing at all."

They turned to the left, walking along with front corridor of the mansion that was lined with floor to ceiling windows.

"Breakfast is generally served at eight in the morning." He said lightly almost as if to ease the sexual tension that hung between the two of them as he pushed a door open.

Beyond the door was a massive but simple dining room that housed a huge table that could probably seat twenty people.

Sarise could hear Carmen chattering to the servers at the end of the table as they walked down the length of the room towards her.

"Sarise!" She called, smiling as the two walked up and Jacob pulled Sarise's chair out. "How was your first night here?" She asked as Sarise settled into her chair. "Did you sleep in Jacob's room or..."

"Carmen." Jacob growled lightly, shaking his head at her as he lowered himself into his chair, flicking his napkin out over his lap.

"Given what you're wearing I don't think you did." Carmen added and Sarise frowned as one of the servers poured her a cup of coffee.

"Huh?" She asked and Carmen giggled, picking a cream covered blueberry off her pancakes and throwing it in her mouth as she leant forward.

"I doubt Jacob would let you wear something so revealing if you had dressed together this morning." She added, glancing over at her brother who now sat behind a newspaper before she turned back to Sarise.

"I'm surprised he didn't demand you change before you came down for breakfast."

Sarise looked over at Jacob, seeing he had dropped the corner of the newspaper to look at her, his eyes darkening as he ran his gaze over her before he flicked the paper out and buried his head in it again.

Sarise picked up a piece of toast, buttering it before smoothing raspberry jam over it.

"I'm not in the habit of doing what I'm told." Sarise answered, cutting her toast in half as she looked at Carmen. "If I want to parade around the mansion in a bikini who is to say..."

She stopped when a low growl rumbled from behind the newspaper before Jacob dropped the corner to glare at her with lavender eyes, his wolf straining to be free.

Carmen burst into laughter and the two turned to her.

"This is going to be amusing." She joked, taking a sip of her orange juice as Jacob flicked the newspaper out again.

"I see nothing amusing about it." Jacob snapped from behind the paper and Sarise smiled, looking up at Carmen to see a brilliant smile on the girls' face.

"I'll let you in on a secret." Sarise said lightly and Carmen tilted her head in question in much the same way her brother did. "I don't even own a bikini."

"I'm sure we can change that." Carmen answered, ignoring the growl that rumbled from her brother. "We have a pool here."

"I noticed the temperature here is more humid." Sarise stated, taking a bit of her toast and Carmen nodded.

"It's worse in the summer." She answered, glancing at her brother before turning to Sarise. "I normally spend my days at the pool in the summer."

"Sarise is to be Luna." Jacob called from behind the newspaper, taking a sip of his coffee. "She cannot spend her days lounging by the pool."

"I'm not Luna yet." Sarise snapped before looking at Carmen and changing her tone. "You'll have to show me the pool." She tapped her chin lightly. "Although I think I need a bathing suit first." Carmen laughed lightly.

"We can go into the city to get you one." She answered, taking a bite of her pancake and chewing quickly, swallowing before she spoke again. "We could go this afternoon and get you that bikini..."

Jacob stood suddenly, slamming his fists on the table; glaring at his sister before he stormed from the room.

Sarise paused in taking a sip from her coffee and looked at Carmen.

"What the fuck?" She breathed and Carmen laughed.

"Oh, my Goddess this is going to be fun." Carmen laughed and Sarise frowned at her, glancing in the direction Jacob had gone as she started to feel frustrated.

"I don't think angering your brother is a form of fun, he is after all an Alpha." Sarise added, looking back at the girl and frowning lightly. Carmen giggled, shaking her head lightly.

"It's about time I got to pick on him." She stated, smiling. "He's always picking on me." Sarise snorted at the thought of Jacob joking around.

"But I was serious about going into the city." She added and Sarise looked at her, seeing her blush. "I would really love a shopping companion."

"I have to warn you I've never been much of a shopper." Sarise stated. "Never really had the means to do so."

"You're a Luna now." Carmen said lightly, smiling. "You can have anything you want."

Sarise frowned at the comment, suddenly realising how much her life had changed.
