Chapter 7 - 6

"WHAT?!"

And the line was cut.

My head was in a whirl. I couldn't believe this. How could it possibly have happened? There were millions of thoughts rushing in my mind. I quickly made my way again to the country, this time, with my gun ready in my hands.

As soon as I reached the countryside where everyone was supposed to be, I found the place completely vacant. Jin hyung must have taken everyone to a safer place. Before I could take my cellphone out to call Jin hyung, someone scratched my back.

To my surprise, it was the same zombie whose daughter I had just rescued. As fast as a blow of wind, I adjusted my gun to shoot the brute creature but suddenly, I remembered Ji Eun. Nobody wants their family to die, right? And so did she.

I had to do something different. Before he could infect me with the virus too, I wrapped a cloth around his mouth, dragged him to a iron cage nearby and locked him inside like a bolt of lightning.

Apparently, this zombie must have forced everyone to move to some other place.

But where?

Maybe some other village nearby.

My phone suddenly rang up and I received the call which was from Jin hyung. He screamed on the phone "JUNGKOOK!!! IS EVERYTHING OKAY? DID YOU KILL THAT MONSTER? WE'RE HERE, 10 MILES AWAY FROM THE VILLAGE."

"Yes hyung, I've locked that zombie and I'm coming now." I assured him.

"GOD DAMN COME FAST! PEOPLE ARE GETTING ANXIOUS HERE." He screamed again.

"Okay hyung. Please don't panic. Make sure you calm down the others too." I said.

Sometimes I wonder if Jin hyung was a vampire in his last birth. A handsome face with an impatient soul. That's what a vampire has.

After about an hour, I reached the village in which everyone was there. To be honest, Jin hyung was in a total mess and was frantically roaming here and there, probably waiting for me.

Even Haeun and Taeun, the two 11-year old twin sisters were patient. As for Ji Eun, she was trying to cheer the people. One of them was Mrs Choi, whose husband was left in the city.

As soon as I arrived, everyone's eyes averted towards me.

I had nothing to say. But still, I had to say something. At least something which gave hope.

"I believe everyone is fine. There's no need to panic. Most of the families residing  in Busan have been rescued. The Korean Government is trying its best to make the antitode and it'll be soon injected into the zombies. The army..." I sighed and continued, "The army is already put on guard to protect this area.  Some part of the army is also guarding Busan to check if none of the zombies crosses the boundaries of the city."

"No. AK47 would be of no use. They've become too strong to be affected. " I suggested and Yoongi nodded in agreement.

"Also, try using the Pacific arrangement. That would get the monsters confused and they won't be able to harm you." I said again.

"Okay sir." He said, quite formally.

I patted on his back and said, "There's no need to say it now. I'm no more a part of the Army."

"But sir, from deep inside the heart, everyone knows you were never a traitor to your own nation. One day the whole world would realise that Jeon Jungkook was a loyal soldier." He said, starting to get emotional.
