Chapter 12 - 11

Jungkook's Point Of View

"Let's talk about this later. First, we have to think of a way to keep the people safe." I said, wiping the obscure tears in my eyes.

SEOUL

Sohee's Point Of View

The next day, I quickly dressed up casually in my ice blue jeans and yellow sweatshirt. I just couldn't wait to create the antitode. Busan was in severe danger and it was all in our hands. Everyday, hundreds of people were getting infected. We just had 2 days in our hands to create the antitode...

As soon as I arrived at Taehyung's place, a chill went down my spine. I was nervous. What if I didn't understand the notes. After all, I had just graduated from the University. Suddenly, I realised that it was already 4:58 pm and I'd been daydreaming in front of his door from the last 10 minutes. No sooner did I ring the doorbell, Taehyung opened the door, in his formal clothes. He was probably waiting for me from a long time.

"You're here! Right in time. Come in, please." He said, cheerfully.

"Hello. Thanks!" I entered his place.

"Tea or coffee?" He asked.

"No, thanks. Let's get to the point together." I really wanted to see the notes.

Taehyung's Point Of View

She quickly grabbed them as soon as I handed them to her and skimmed through the notes as if she wasn't able to understand even a single bit of it...

"Ahem. Sir. I'm sorry but I don't think I'll be able to help-" she said but a sudden blow of wind snapped her face.

But that sudden blow of wind changed her facial expression from confused to confident.

"Don't you think the cortex of a munie could help you in creating the antitode? Even if you don't get the cortex, the blood of a munie would work?

If I had to guess, the infection of the medulla oblogata - where most automatic processes are regulated - is what results in cardio-pulmonary death, followed shortly by brain-death. Ain't I right?" She spoke almost flawlessly, with a familiar smirk, reminding me of someone.

I felt amazed. She spoke this all up like a blow of wind! After processing what she just said, I replied, "You are absolutely right. But, during zombification, it is the cortex that gets ruptured. Also, one of the problems is that autolysis - the process wherein a cell's own enzymes begin to consume it - is not stopped or reversed."

"That's what I wanted to say," she slightly raised her voice, "so shouldn't we combine the munie cells and zombie cells with the WBCs' mitochondrial membrane of the normal blood? Won't make the P.A.V. ratio equal?"

I didn't know what to say. She seemed brilliant. Again, after taking a while to process the biological terms spitting out of her mouth, I replied "That's a good plan. But where did you learn this from? I don't know how I shall thank you for such an idea. I owe you so much!"

It seemed as if all my problems had gone away with a sudden blow of wind that caused her smooth, black hair to come over her fair face again.

"Huh? I don't even remember what plan I was talking about. But since you've got the plan, I'm happy too." she said again, changing the serious atmosphere into a light one.
