"You say you hadn't asked many details?" Augustus asked, looking directly at Bianca.
"Money was low and I needed to get some quick. I do the tour groups when I need money." she explained.
"I'm assuming you over charge then?" he asked, a smirk appearing on his face as the brunette shrugged and nodded," Well, the sketch artist is here, you only have to answer his questions"
She nodded," can I have some water please?" she asked.
"I'll make sure you get some" he agreed and walked out.
Bianca looked around at the small room, she wondered for a second about her father, who probably sat in a room like this. Guilty and feigning innocence.
The officers chair was placed between her and the door. No doubt, to make her feel like she couldn't leave. The thought of her father feeling trapped hurt her but she pushed it aside not wanting to associate feelings with him considering she had mentally distanced herself almost completely from him.
The sketch artist joined her soon enough with a glass of water and the session began.
Destiny was not as put together as Bianca was. The scene of the man burning was etched into her mind. She had been enjoying the beach when Andrew had gone missing. The other three girls were searching for him while she decided to change before doing so herself.
Walking into the room to find him wrapped up, with tape on his mouth, his face raw and bleeding. She couldn't only recall one thing the most. The heat.
The heat of the fire as it burned up his wooden leg. the muffled scream as the flames touched skin. Before she could move, the wall he was against lit up in flames. Perhaps it had some sort of flammable liquid? but she had never seen a fire roar to life so quick. It engulfed him almost completely and she saw fear in what was left of his face. Fear that she couldn't get out of her mind.
Augustus walked in as she had just began to have her second breakdown.
"Are you okay? Do you need some water?" he asked with concern.
"I'm fine" she shook her head as she wiped tears from her face," His face is in my eyes"
"Mr. Andrew Paul?" he asked softly.
She nodded in response," I'm sorry I don't mean to cry" she sniffed loudly.
He offered her a tissue box that he had brought with him as she already had had a breakdown before.
"So, you are from America?" he asked," just like the two tourists who had gone missing"
"Ye..yes" she said," did.. how did you know about that?" she asked.
"I'm sorry but they were found in an alleyway" he said genuinely saddened by it," we will catch her... somehow"
"why did she kill all of them?" she asked.
He refrained from answering it and instead diverted the topic to what had actually happened. She recounted the story as she had many times before. Just as he suspected her story had no discrepancies.
All of their stories matched up. He thanked her and left the room, leaving the tissues behind.
In an hour, Bianca and Destiny were taken to the same holding cell and were told that they would be left after it was confirmed that they weren't in any danger.
Bianca could see that Destiny had been crying. her eyes were swollen and puffy while she was silent.
The other girls were taken to the other level of holding cells.
"Are...you okay?" Bianca asked.
"Not really" was the reply. She stayed silent knowing the girl didn't wish to talk anymore.
Chiara on the other hand found herself unable to stay silent for a second. She had ordered a man hunt for Kore. Officers would be patrolling the city and checkpoints were to be placed.
Salvatore was going to hold a press conference to announce Kore's presence along with the sketch.
However before he could, the sketch would be sent over to Matteo. Chiara looked down at the sketch at the short haired girl and wondered if she was really capable of skinning and murdering the way that she did.
Officer Minnie was in charge of taking the picture over and within half an hour she was in a room with Matteo.
"Mr. Matteo, I'm officer Minnie Love, or just Minnie. You can call me whatever it is you wish. I hope you know this conversation is being recorded" she said with a soft smile, disarmed with how young he looked.
"Minnie." he mumbled with a nod," why see me?" he asked.
"I want you to Identify a sketch" she said," it would be in your best interest to help us"
He nodded and looked at the piece of paper she pushed towards him. He looked down at the paper, a small furrow forming in his eyebrows.
"Is this Kore?" she asked.
"She is a Kore" he nodded, looking up at her.
She nodded," Can you reconfirm that this sketch is Kore"
"Yes, It is a Kore" he nodded.
"Thank you"
"Welcome" he nodded," I go now? I hungry" he said.
"Yes, of course." she smiled as he walked away. The guards brought over Luca as Matteo was taken away.
"Mister Luca Romano" she addressed," How are you?"
"Is it my daughter? Is she okay? Is she hurt?" he asked with wide eyes.
"Your daughter Bianca Romano is alive and will be given a security detail" she assured," I hope you know that this conversation is being recorded?" she asked.
"Yes"
"Good. How do you know Mister Matteo?" she asked.
"I met him in prison. He ... was young and reminded me of my child. So I ... befriended him. I uh, teach him English" he said with a soft laugh.
"Yes, his English isn't very good. It's nice of you to teach him" she said, "I want to know how much Matteo has said about Kore"
"he said she is called the witch" he mumbled," she is a cold stone killer. He is too, I'm sure you heard about how he killed another inmate?" he asked.
"Yes, I have heard about that" she nodded," has he said anything about her coming to get him? any escape plan?" she asked.
"Nothing at all. He just stays silent. He... He seems like a good child, who doesn't know any better" he admitted," I... reminds me of my daughter. Good heart but misguided"
She looked up at him sympathetically and nodded.
"But no, he hasn't said anything of importance to me," he said. She asked him a few more questions and then left after asking him to inform them in case of any developments, considering his daughter's life depended on it.
Minnie called Chiara and confirmed the identity. Palermo would be alerted and by nightfall, the city would go into lockdown. Italy's worst serial killer was on the loose and finally identified.
