Thurdayday 28 July
18:22 at Caroline's place...
Donnel was busy leaning on his crutch, watching the outside view from the, third floor's, window when he suddenly heard Caroline's voice. She was singing as she marched into the apartment. Grocery bags her hand before she began taking out the take away's and chocolates which she'd bought. A big smile on her face, as she peered towards Donnel.
"Guess what I've brought you Donny," Caroline smiles.
"Some chocolates and a milkshakes." He added nodding slowly.
"Nope, those are for me, but I did get some protein bars for you yeah," she giggles.
"Aren't we sharing both come on, I like chocolates too"
"Chill boo, we'll share when we're eating watching this, BAM! We'll definitely watch these two romantic commedy classics later tonight...
"Let me make you chocolate pudding, its the least I can do to thank you for going all out tonight." Donnel says, watching her put the take away's in the microwave and the chocolates in the fridge, just before she waves off to take a shower. Donnel keeps looking out the window in admiration of the view. Reminiscing about the days he and the twins would jog around the block. Until the thoughts and questions of the night of the shooting begin haunting him again.
"Some say she was drunk, some say she was mad, but whatever the witnesses have to say... Zintle may be psychologically troubled," read the caption from the article, leading Donnel eyes to wander through his contact list searching for a possible someone who he could trust to enlighten him on the truth. He needed someone who he could trust. Plus Lutho and Yondela seemed like the biggest gossips within his circle of friends, so he thought why not.
"Donnel! Need your help over here!" shouted Carol from her bedroom
"Coming!" responded Donnel before putting down the tab, pausing the episode he was kind of watching, before leaving his crutch behind and carefully walking to Carol's room. He pushed the door open and felt his heart halt awkwardly as the image of her back grabbed his gaze. She was bracing herself standing in front of her bed while looking to the mirror in front of her. The same mirror which Donnel could stealing his reflection as he came closer and closer to her.
"Just apply this on my lower back, especially on my waist." she insisted, her infectious smile reflected in the mirror.
"You just know how to ask don't you," he giggled as he took a light scoop and began spreading on her smooth back, sitting behind her, on her bed.
"If you're offended you can stop," she uttered calmly, just as his hands were around her hip
"I will, when I'm done... And I hope you aren't taking advantage of my sexual misunderstanding." He teased her.
"Would I do this If I did? she turned around and sat on his lap as she pushed his chest.
She was soon laying on top of him, their wild intentions hiding in both their giggles. Donnel reached for her waist again, an act that made her scratch him like a cat. She was feisty and he liked it. He was calmer than ever and she liked it.
Donnel felt his heartbeat's rhythm crack as he broke the law which governed by his friendship with the twins, as he risked it all and and slowly reached for her neck. Enticingly pulling her closer for a kiss. Caroline's long hair was hanging around her face, long enough to shield her view from her surroundings and make his face the focus point of her sight, his jawline and smile its focal point. Their lips touched, not once but twice, and their hesitation began drowning in their kisses. Both feeding off what the other was going through.
When a faint knock came from the door, it seemed to knock some guilt into her. So she pushed him away, dropped her lustful act, slid off the bed and went to go get it. Donnel slid off her pink duvet too but went to sit in the lounge. Where he watched as Caroline let Karabo and another girl in. A girl who had a long burgundy jacket which stretched down till halfway her thighs and also served as her dress. Purple slippers which matched her shoulder-reaching, purple braids.
Donnel returned her smile as she came to greet him, her nose ring matching with a small ring on one of her left toes. Red and bluish colors decoratively polishing her toenails. The look reminded him of a girl he once knew, but her hippie demeanor deemed his thoughts invalid.
"I'm Lihle by the way," she smilingly murmured stretching her arms to beckon Donnel for a hug.
"And do remember to stay away from her..." laughs Karabo, "she's my girl Donny"
Donnel could tell from Carol's disappointed nod that Karabo was high again as he laughed off on is way to the bathroom. "Karabo's girlfriend soon went to help Caroline heat up and prepare the food which Karabo had just brought. Although her hairstyle reminded Donnel of the hairstyle which Zintle was planning to get after the twins birthday, Lihle seemed pretty cool. She seemed to share Lethabo's height, but not as slim. She had Zintle's voice, but more posh. Also has Zimi's vocabulary and hairstlyle, but not her bubbly personality nor kind of chubby figure.
As they chat time flies, and before they know it they are dining whilst chatting about Zintle's case; some random series playing before their eyes.
"Nevertheless I don't understanding how she ended up taking the culprit." Donnel said calmly.
"That's what she got for taking what didn't belong to her... I mean Catherine's life." Lihle crossed her arms and smiled, after realizing what she and just said.
"But I'm certain she wasn't the shooter... I was there you know!" addressed Donnel sternly
"She got what she deserved, plus the law doesn't lie," expressed Lihle in an objective tone. "Plus we should really put the topic to rest, that case really affected Carol and Karabo.
In that second, silence paid them a visit and all eyes turn to the Television on the wall. Carol's phone also rings and she quickly stands and rushes to answer it, leaving whispers between Karabo and Lihle as they begin playing around, teasing each other with tickles and whispers.
It seemed and felt as though he was the only one truly concerned with the matter. The couple next to him seemed more caught up in their little lovey-dovey web. When his phone rang soon after, Lihle reached for it and passed it to him "accidentally" cutting the call in the process.
"Whoopsie! Disadvantages of having manicure," she pulled her cheek remorsefully, making Donnel smile back understandingly, until he realized the call was from his dear Colette.
Seems like her disdain and hatred towards Zintle, for taking her boyfriend's sister's life, had shifted towards Donnel too. Maybe for supporting the "ruthless Zintle."
