Chapter 2 - (Chapter 2) (Katlego's waking)

Meanwhile, somewhere else, Katlego opens his eyes and finds himself in bed.

"Doctors say he's got amnesia"

"How long are we going to keep him here for?"

"What if her remembers?"

"Stop! Just shut up!"

"The whispers which crowded his ears as he opened his eyes and found himself in bed. Comfortable but exhausted, yet very warm due to the colourful candles which encircled his bed. Some covers behind them so as to keep the light with the circle around his bed only.

"Oh babes, you've woken up," said a girl as the sharp rhythm of her high heels ensured. She walked into the circle and aroused his curiosity as she came to sit next to him.

His head was still spinning as he squeezed his eyes shut to adjust his sight to the bright light around him. Before he could even respond, his eyes ran down from her brows to her smile. She took off her red and white kittie mask, as Katlego took note of her long purple nails and an oversized blue Cardigan jacket whose buttons were left unpinned so as to reveal the purple two piece which she head underneath. She was dressed like Lady Gaga.

"Where am I? And who are you.. What's up with that mask?" He said, shying away from her caresses.

"I'm offended... You've clearly forgotten who saved you from your car crash." she leaned over and brought her lips to his cheeks. "You were in a pool of blood when I, your girlfriend Lihle, found you and brought you over here.

"And did this happen exactly?" He frowned and asked.

"Long story that is, the bottomline is that someone with Identical intentions to yours wanted to kiss you. I stepped in and saved you, secretly. It's what all good girlfriends do right?." She eased herself into his arms and cried dramatically, before sniffling and giggling.

"Lee! Lihle! You've got a call" A deep voice, some fast steps and a ringtone barged into the room and Lihle kissed Katlego lightly and walked out of the ring of candles before walking out of the open door that was shooting light into the darkness lurking in the outskirts of the big bedroom.

"How so Divvy...? You mean he remembers...? How sure are you?" She yelled after walking out, the phone on her ear

"She's clearly annoyed now," the guy in a purple suit gave a sheepish nod as he walked into the circle of candle I'm Thatho by the way"

"I'm having an identity crisis... Tell me what's going on, my mind is all over the place"

"Kat bro, all I can say is that you're luck to be with a girl who saved your life dawg. If It wasn't for her, A girl named Zintle and her boyfriend would have ended your life for sure." Thatho snuffled. "Top of that she's the mayor's daughter brah."

"Still doesn't explain much..."

"Look on the bright side Kat. I had a girl who I saved after she was publicly humiliated at the matric ball dance." he sighed and continued marching along the circle. "She owed me much, but the only thanks I got was getting dumped several days later, after her boyfriend got involved in a walk-in shooting of some sort... She broke my heart bro.

"What's her name though?

You don't wanna know bro she'll drive you crazy... " Thato looks at the watch on his wrist, "She's pretty sweet but psycho."

As Thatho blabbers on, the story almost seems too familiar to Katlego but he can't put the puzzling pieces together so he lets it go. Although he doesn't know nor remember much, he surely realizes that Thato and his running mouth might be an important key in getting the truth.

"So are you somehow related to Lihle though?"

"Just a friend of hers, plus I help her run some errands" He bursts into giggles, "girls like Lihle definitely know how to reward loyalty, but can make someone's life hell if they cross her, period!"

Thato then paused, and brought his hand up in search of silence before reaching into his pocket in search of his ringing phone.

"Hi, what is it now?," his tone was suddenly loud and irritated as he dawdled around the bed.

"Lutho and Yondela over here, we are facing some problems," stuttered the voices over the phone, loud enough for Katlego to hear.

"I told you two lovebirds not to call me directly! Like what more do you want?"

"We need more money Tee, as you know we got a baby on the way"

"Whoops! Clearly not my problem... I didn't tell you two to fuck around!"

"Well if you won't help us, then we won't keep your secret... The big lie has begun weighing heavily on our hearts"

"Is that a threat? Thato gripped his purple suit's jacket just as Lihle walked in and demanded the phone.

"Forgive Thato's manners guys," she said over the phone, "How about you two come over for dinner so we can sort out this misunderstanding", she said and rolled her big brown eyes.

"Sorry Leigh, but do they really have to...?" Lihle cut the phone.

"Let me handle that," she slapped him, That's for irritating Katlego with your silly phone calls.

He was about to respond when she slapped him again. Even though he seemed about 1.87m tall and Lihle was was tall enough to reach his neck even in her heels, it was clear that Lihle was the bigger person between the two of them. Her calm demeanor was clearly just a facade and she seemed to have a darker side to her, Donnel noted. A dark side which hid behind the small colorful tattoos which complemented her caramel skin tone.

"By the way go call the squad, they should prepare to welcome Lutho and Yondela when they arive"

"Should we order Pizza or lasagna?" another guy with a purple suit, and a ginger fade for a haircut, also smiled vigorously as he stepped in"

"Yes Thapelo, go order Lasagna," Lihle said in a slow sarcastic tone, before slapping her own forehead.

"Shot then, I'll be right on it," giggled Thapelo as he looked down to his phone.

"Of course not dummy! We are going to teach them a lesson okay" Thato pulled back his cheeks in annoyance, 'but do place the orders anyway, the maid isn't here today."

It was when Lihle also ordered that anyone who partook in "The Deed" but is now trying to be a pest be invited as well. Katlego then watched her as she walked towards him, telling him to come downstairs with them.
