Chapter 21 :
The customers watched in amusement as Victoria walked out of the restaurant as Axel ran behind her, pleading and shouting that it was not as bad as it seems.
Victoria was freaking out, and it was hilarious to the spectators. She ran out of the lounge as soon as he said what he said. At first she thought that he was joking, but she soon realized that he wasn't by the hopeful look on his face.
Filming on their phones were a group of interns from the People-an American weekly magazine that specializes in celebrity news, human-interest stories, and gossip.
They were trying to come up with an interesting story that the world could never guess, and both Victoria's and Axel's scene is giving them right what they want.
There was sweat trailing from the back of his neck to his tailbone. He was panting from running down all those stairs, chasing after Victoria. His voice was getting hoarse from shouting and calling for her to listen. He was at the brink of just giving up and let her assume what she wants.
Victoria was already in the car and was about to tell the driver to leave, but paused when she heard Axel saying something. She was not sure what it was at first but slowly caught on to what he was saying and so did the others.
"It happened on the fourteenth of December in the year two thousand and fifteenth" he paused and took in a mouth full of air before continuing, "I ordered one shot tequila from the bartender, I was having a rough week with my w-work and other things and had a drink or two, you know to release the burdens on my shoulder... Even if it was for a night."
Victoria watched as he gave a pained laugh and ran his hands through his hair. Her heart cried out for him when she saw his teary eyes.
"You were a goddess, I mean not that you're not a goddess now, but... That night you were glowing, I don't know how to explain it," said Axel in frustration.
Victoria giggled when she saw Axel pulling him in frustration. Axel shot his head in her direction before going on his knees, "Tori, please I did not take advantage of you or anything similar to that."
His statement caused Victoria to clear her throat and glared at him and shrugged, "That seems like the only thing that seems realistic, you're a psych and nothing you do is going to change that."
The interns were around the corner hiding behind the bushes as they were recording Axel and Victoria. The interns knew that if this news made it to their supervisor, they would be getting the promotion that they'd dreamt about since they entered the industry.
They knew that the argument between the two was going to be juicy, but they didn't know how juicy it was going to be. The interns quickly snapped a few pictures of the two and then continued to listen to the argument.
"Tori, w-what... I'm not a psycho!" exclaimed Axel, "That's bullshit" he continued while looking into Victoria's eyes.
"Why are you like this..just please let me continue?"
Victoria turned her head down towards her shows and nodded her head. As much as she wants him to leave. She knew that deep down inside she wants to hear the rest of what he has to say.
Axel sighed when he saw her head moving up and no, he was very relieved when he saw that she did not instruct the driver to leave.
"You were very upset that your boyfriend ignored your messages asking him to celebrate your achievement with you," he maintained eye contact with her when she raised hers to meet his and chuckled slightly before continuing. "You said that an asshole like him doesn't deserve a royalty like yourself, and asked me which royalty do I remind you of-"
"And you said, I wouldn't acknowledge you as royalty because you're already a goddess, one who's beauty surpasses the all the others," whispered Victoria, interrupting Axel in the process as that memory was always there in her head. The only problem was that she could never pin a face to the voice she always heard saying it.
Axel looked at her with a happy expression, and he had to keep clenching and unclenching his palms, and this was because he wanted to run over to where she was and kiss the life out of here.
"Tori, y-you remembered?" he asked.
Victoria could see the glimmer of hope that flashed through his eyes before it went quickly as it came. She wanted to tell him that she remembered everything from the bar. She remembered everything from that night, but she wanted to see him suffer a little more before she tells him.
"Umm... Just enough to know that you didn't," she paused for a while, hoping that he would get a hint of what she was saying. Getting annoyed at the clueless face he was making, she deadpanned.
"Axel, I know that you didn't take advantage of me."
She watched as Axel walked over to her and wound his arms around her waist, and drew her in a deep kiss.
Victoria gasped at the raw emotion of passion and longing in the kiss. And Axel to this moment to venture a bit deeper into her mouth, causing the interns to release some series of awes.
"Thank you," said the stranger as they took the notebook, camera, and voice record from the interns and chuckled as they turned around and glared at him.
"Hey give it back-" the intern speaking quickly shut his mouth when the stranger threw down the duffle bag.
"What's this?" asked the same intern as he pointed towards the bag.
"It's fourteen million dollars cash for you guys giving these in my hands, and never mention a word of what you heard or saw today."
The stranger watched as the interns nodded quickly and took the duffle with them and ran.
"The things one with money can achieve in this world," mused the stranger as he walked towards his car parked at the staff parking lot.
