Chapter 26 :
Victoria stood alone at the bus stop, as the rain poured heavily during the night. Her clothed got drenched baldy and her phone got-wait, she did not have her phone with her right now.
Her phone was currently at home, receiving a well-deserved treat from all its hard work over the past 6 hours.
Victoria somehow thought it was a perfect night to clear her head, but boy was she wrong.
Considering how saturated her hair was. She watched as random cars drove by, even splashing her in the process. Victoria always thought these things only happened in movies.
'I'll just wait until it eases up a bit,' thought Victoria as she leaned she sat on the seat. If it was some other time. Victoria would have probably turned her nose and turn the other way, but that wasn't an option right now.
One minute turned into an hour, and an hour into two. And Victoria was still sitting there at the bus stop, waiting for the rain to stop.
'I should probably hitch a ride,' she thought, barely unconscious. The sun was peaking through the sky, and Victoria got out of the seat with the help of its handle.
Stumbling as she tried to walk, Victoria walked into the middle of the road as black spots entered her vision. Luckily for her, the stranger was driving from the hospital. He had to pull an all-nighter because his friend Alfred passed out because of the lack of oxygen.
He was talking to his boss through his AirPods when he noticed someone deliberately walking in the middle of the road.
"This person is fucking crazy!" exclaimed the stranger as he slapped his hands against the steering wheel of his car.
"Huh?"
"Sorry Boss, there's this... UMM," started the stranger before continuing, "Someone just walked in the middle of the road."
The stranger clenched balled his hands into a fist while bouncing his legs. He had a feeling that his boss was going to abuse his authority, like always, to make him help that crazy person.
It's not like he's been mean or anything, but this street was the entrance of a very elite neighborhood. Therefore, the only conclusion he could come up with was that someone got kicked.
'Wonder what that person did,' thought the stranger while shaking his head in pity.
"You know what I'm going to ask you, right?" Asked his boss after being silent for a while.
The stranger already knew what was already going to happen, but played ignorantly.
"Ahh, Nope," said the stranger while shaking his head from side to side, "I don't think so, Boss" he continued smiling proudly to himself at the acting skills.
"Well, you're going to stop the car and check on that person you diagnose as craz-" Marlos started over the phone before the sudden interruption of the stranger stopped him, "B-But Boss, what if they're like dangerous?" the stranger asked while faking a scared tone.
"If that person is so dangerous, then It's good that you have the skills you possessed," Marlos said in a playful tone before continuing in a stern voice, "You're going to check on that person and see if he or she needs any help."
"Way to ruin my mood," muttered the stranger while stopping the car. Looking through the rear window glass, the stranger noticed the long distance he'd have to cover and announced to Marlos, "Yeah Boss, I'll just drive back."
"Just do what I told you, I don't care how you do as long as it's done," Marlos stated. Ten minutes later, the stranger had successfully reached his destination and was still on a call with Marlos.
"I knew I should have taken my jacket with me before leaving the house this morning," was the first thing that came out of his mouth when he opened the car door.
As soon as the rain finished falling, strong winds immediately replaced the rain, and by the look of it, it seems like it had no plan of stopping right now.
"What's the point of doing this?" asked the stranger as he walked in the direction he last saw the person.
Marlos sighed at the other side of the line while rolling his eyes. His best friend was always like this, ever since they were small.
"Don't mind that," he said before threatening him "Just do as I say if you want your monthly bonus."
"Well, to be honest, that was pretty mean, using my weakness against me like that," voiced the strange, "I'd probably quit if you weren't my best friend," he added.
"And why is that?" asked Marlos.
"It's because you're a very cruel boss," declared the stranger as he shrugged.
'Holy Shit,' thought the stranger in shock, as he saw the body of the person laying on the ground. Getting into action quickly, the stranger scooped the person in his arm, and judging by the length of the hair, he could only assume that the person is a girl.
'Oh my god, she's freezing,' he thought as he rushed towards his car.
"Hey... what going on?" asked Marlos with curiosity dripping from his voice.
The stranger opened the door to the backseat and carefully placed her down, closing the door, The stranger quickly ran towards her front seat and turned on the heater. "I think she has hypothermia," stated the stranger as he ran his hand through his hair.
Confusion. That was the feeling Marlos was experiencing now. He did not understand what this guy was talking about.
"Who are you talking about?" he asked, hoping that his friend would explain more clearly.
"You were right," that was all the stranger said. Marlos closed his eyes in frustration.
'Why isn't he talking clearly?' he asked himself while releasing a groan.
"S-She has hypothermia…" continued the stranger after a while of being silent.
"You're taking her to the hospital right?" Marlos queried before saying, "Take her to the hospital... I'll meet you there."
