Chapter 20 :
Victoria stepped out of the car as the driver closed the door behind her. The restaurant that she was meeting this mystery guy at was top end.
Although Victoria had money, she wasn't the type of girl who'd show it off or - what was the term they used these days?- brag about it. She preferred simplicity above everything.
Her heart fluttered a bit when she noticed that all of this. She meant the driver that he sent for her and this all luxurious lifestyle vibes that he was -so far, giving off was just to impress her.
Too bad that she was not interested in any of that. She walked up to where the receptionist was standing and said in a very confident voice.
" I have a reservation under the name Andrew Jamespell," the receptionist gave her a polite smile before nodding and looking down at the big black book that was opened before her.
The receptionist then shook her head in a 'NO' motion, which also brought her silky blond locks along with it.
" I'm sorry, Ma'am, but the name that you've given me does not seem to have booked a reservation here."
As she said this, the little confidence that Victoria seemed to have quickly flushed down the drain.
Victoria nodded her head and said while smiling softly, "Oh... Ok, sorry for wasting your time."
Axel was at the outside of that same restaurant. He was talking on his phone to his partner; when his eyes caught sight of someone who had the same body and hair color as his, Tori.
'You'd never know if it is her unless you try,' said his subconscious while looking at his imaginary nails.
Axel quickly ran up towards the person and said," For someone as educated as you, you sure know how to walk in a mission unprepared, Ms. Jamespell."
Victoria stopped walking when she heard that voice, it sounded so familiar to her; but she did not really pay that attention.
She was more focused on the comment he made and replied in a cool tone, "I'm not an assassin, so I wouldn't say that I walked in that situation unprepared... My cousin just."
She shrugged before continuing," Just didn't give me the all the correct information."
"How did you know my name?" asked Victoria as she slowly turned around to the voice and stood there in shock at the person standing in front of her. It was the same guy that she had the flashes about this morning, and she couldn't do anything about it but gape at his smiling face.
Victoria's jaw dropped a little wider as he did a bow and mused," Well it seems like Andrew did not know, that it is not classified as a blind date if the persons know each other... Erm, well that's from my perspective."
She released a giggle and said, "I definitely agree with your perspective, it's not like the entire world doesn't use a similar definition."
Axel gave her a boyish smirk before holding out his hands and introduced himself, "Axel, Axel Monseiratti."
He watched as the goddess standing before him place her hands in his palms and mocked, " I need not introduce myself, as you've already known what I'm about to say."
Axel stared at her in amazement, he was not expecting this type of reaction from her. He had come prepared for a lot of shouting and slapping, but she was acting like it thrilled her to see him.
'Puh-lease, look at us, I mean you anyone would be blessed to see this beauty,' his subconscious said.
"Come on, we've got a VIP lounge waiting for us," said Axel as he placed his hands at her lower back and led her back into the restaurant.
All she could think was,' Yep, trying to impress' as she followed him.
The receptionist looked like she was thrilled that Victoria did not get the regular reservation and that she got the VIP lounge room instead. She even gave Victoria a thumbs up and whispered good luck as she was entering.
Inside the lounge looked nice, although Victoria could not see why the receptionist from earlier was giving her this impression that the lounge would be this extravagant relaxing place.
She personally thought that she would not waste her money on this 'VIP lounge', when she could have just stayed home in her bed and save her money.
Looking towards Axel she saw that he was sitting on one of the wooden stools staring right back at her, "You're an idiot" she voiced.
Axel stared at her in shock before saying, "I'm just going to pretend that you didn't say that, and asked what I'd originally plan."
Victoria got a bit curious and leaned forward placing her hands beneath her chin and suggested, "I think it's better if you ask what you're asking, than telling me that you're going to ask."
"That's fair" Axel shrugged before asking straightforwardly, "Did you go through with the abortion?"
The room was silent for a few seconds before Victoria let out a small laugh, "You sure know how to get to the point when you want to," she murmured before slapping her hands and the table before announcing.
"Well, all thanks to you and your concern, you opened my eyes, and I decided against it."
Axel could see that she was tearing up, and he could also see that Tori was trying hard not to cry.
He was now unsure if he should disclose the information that he had. He scratched the back of the head-a thing he did when he's nervous, and looked at her while clearing his throat, gaining Victoria's attention as he did before starting.
"Um... I'm not exactly sure how you're going to take this, especially-"
A very confused Victoria interrupted him.
"What are you talking about?" she asked while all Axel could do was shake his legs.
The anticipation coming from Victoria and the nervousness coming from him was suffocating him, and he could no longer take it.
"Victoria, I'm the father of your baby," he declared.
