Hannah massaged her jaw as she got up from the ground. The pain had reduced by now but was still there. She looked around and spotted Kyle, Zora and Abrak going at it. She assumed that everything was still going according to plan and if they were lucky they would be able to end this soon. She looked around for her grimoire and spotted it not too far from where she was so she headed towards it with a slight limp in her step. Hannah hadn't noticed Alicia running to her with her bow in hand.
"Are you ok Hannah!?"
"Yeah I'm fine. What about you?"
"I think I'm fine though that slap came out of nowhere. Just how can he move so fast that we can't even spot his position."
"I think it has something to do with that aura he had earlier although it doesn't look like he has it on now. You still have those arrows we got from Sheila, right?"
"Hmm? OH yeah I do... but do you still think they can be effective.?"
"Yea they probably will."
Earlier before the angels had left for their journey they had secretly been given little tools by Sheila. Alicia had received arrows that she had kept hidden underneath her clothing. The tips were blunt and extremely thin so they wouldn't really be considered proper arrows but their use was unique.
Alicia reached her hand underneath her clothing and plucked out one of the four arrows as it neatly wedged between her fingers. She carefully stood up straight and nocked the arrow. Hannah picked up the grimoire and opened it without a second thought. She knew what spell she needed to cast and if everything was still going according to plan then this would be a major help towards the end result.
She relaxed her muscles and felt her tension disappear before she stretched out a hand to summon her servant.
"Myrac show yourself!"
A bright blue glow and out came Myrac in his casual attire and pole in hand. He did a few twirls of his pole and ran towards the fight without a second thought. Now that they had brought assistance she could focus on the spell she wanted to cast.
"You ready Alicia?"
"Ye just say the word and I'll shoot."
"Sure."
Hannah pointed a finger forward and closed her eyes. Everything around her went silent and Hannah's mind became calm and steady. She cast her spell in a steady calm voice.
"[Hydro magic; Hydrated coating]"
"You can shoot now!"
"Finally! holding this position hurts my shoulders."
Alicia let go of the string with a slight twitch of her finger and the arrow shot off at a blinding speed. Nobody noticed the arrow until it hit the dirt right next to the ongoing battle. Thankfully Zora happened to be the closest to it.
"What the-"
Before he could say anything else the blunt tip of the arrow burst into white bubbly flames startling Zora. But this was only the first stage of the violent reaction.
Hannah couldn't help but smile as she recalled what the arrows had been made from. The arrowheads had been made out of steel making them extremely heavy but what coated the steel was what posed the real danger.
"Caesium... extremely radioactive alkali metal and highly explosive when in contact with water. Temperatures can easily burn skin if not damage body cells from the radiation alone. We aren't affected by the radiation so that's why we've been fine along the way here but I doubt Zora would be immune to the explosion."
Hannah now had a wicked smile on her face as she watched the white flames turn to a blinding white and the shockwave shook her feet before she saw the actual explosion.
"BOOM!!"
Large dirt clumps were shot high into the air with the shockwave knocking everybody off their feet. Thankfully the explosion was easier to delay using magic than it would be with science. If Hannah simply poured water on the arrow before Alicia shot then there would be no point. Why? because it would simply explode the moment the water came into contact with the Caesium.
"That explosion should have done some quick damage and if not then the radiation alone should put him in bad condition."
Alicia wasted no time and plucked two more arrows from underneath her clothes and nocked them carefully. Hannah closed her eyes and calmly cast the spell once more. The plan was that they would continuously hit Zora with the arrows while the others barraged him with attacks until he had reached a certain limit.
That was when Abrak's flame doll would activate the power of the divine dagger.
"[Hydro magic; Hydrated coating]"
Alicia then shot the arrows immediately and they zipped at blinding speed to hit Zora directly in his abdomen. Hannah was right, Zora had been brought to his knees as he healed a gaping hole in his sides. The arrows hit with a dull 'thwack' before the blue flames ignited grandly. Kyle had fallen to the ground while tightly gripping his shoulder but he was far enough to escape the great heat from the explosions.
"Boom!"
The light was even brighter just as the ground surrounding Zora was set ablaze. The light threw Zora back like a ragdoll as his body was literally cooked from the inside out. A gaping hole appeared in his chest with his flesh turning a charred black and skin melting like candle wax. The reaction would take a few fractions of a second to come to an end just as it had began.
Soon the giant flaming ball of light collapsed in on itself releasing a great shockwave that shook the soil and disoriented everybody within range of seeing it. What was left was a frail looking Zora who looked nothing like he had before.
His body had stopped its accelerated healing, his hair had completely been burnt away with only a hollow husk of a corpse being left. Abrak simply looked at the corpse before him but he didn't feel the slightest bit relieved. He turned and walked over to the crying Kyle who was still in pain. Abrak picked him up in his arms and turned towards the other two angels.
In the blink of an eye he was now standing beside Alicia who had plucked out the last of her arrows and nocked it carefully.
"Is he dead yet?"
"Not even close... the plan is still in motion so now we hope that my flame doll managed to get to the location in time."
Everybody looked towards the charred corpse in the distance that was now letting off dark smoke.
"He's still alive but we bought some time before his body reactivates its healing."
"How long?"
"About half a minute... I think my flame doll reached the location by now so do you guys want to start the final phase of the plan?"
"Do it!!"
"No wait we have to get some distance."
"We don't have the time for that!?"
"Well let's just move as fast as we can then!"
Hannah shut her grimoire and turned away to reveal her wings. She didn't hesitate for a moment to fly high into the clouds.
The others had no choice but to follow after her as Abrak had already given the signal to activate the power of the divine dagger.
Soon they had flown high into the clouds but just as they rose above the clouds a very dull boom could be heard before the group felt themselves flung even higher into the sky with the clouds torn by a very bright light. The ground rumbled as a large swirling cloud of hot flames started to spread from the dark forest and grew in mass to consume everything like a tsunami.
"[Unique magic; domain consumption]"
This was the unique magic of the elf king cast using his divine dagger. It would spawn a very small sphere of mana before it exploded outwards to consume the mana of its target. The plan had been to make Zora expend large amounts of mana throughout the fight and thus the air was practically saturated with it. This mana acted like fuel for the divine dagger and the resulting gas giant kept growing to an alarming size.
"We have to get far from here!!"
